Occasionally you'll find subcontracting opportunities on these portals, but not very often. Generally, you'll be bidding as the main contractor/supplier. If you want to be a subcontractor, you can find the list of contractors on your local council's published contracts register...and contact them directly
Thanks for the feedback. Our latest videos are all backed with voice over audio to help in that regard. If there are any specific videos you'd like us to remake with audio, please let us know
Competitive tendering for major projects in the UK is becoming a thing of the past. It's the easiest thing in the world to submit the cheapest price. All the estimator has to do is find all the mistakes in the tender documents and delete money as appropriate. Then the Contractor claims all the money back at construction stage when the Client is forced to issue changes to correct the mistakes. Instead of this charade Cients who are street wise now enter into a partnership arrangement with a Contractor who ensures buildability is built into the design and the mistakes are eradicated.
A Contractor is appointed by a Client based on his experience which includes staff cv's, financial strengths, and details of the contractor supply chain. Then the Contractor is part of the Client's team. He then provides buildability input into the design bringing his supply chain into the design input. Then he puts a budget price in place and as the design develops he converts the budget price into a firm price. The skill is in putting an early budget price in place which is improved on when the budget price is converted into the firm price.
It is all bull shit . Over 90 percent of man made carbon is from 8 billion people. Each exhaling over 2 KG of CO2 per day. Are we talking mass killings?
The first place will be checking your local council's tender opportunities to see if they're buying the kinds of services you offer. They undoubtedly are, but it's whether they're buying it at a scale your business can manage. Get in touch with me through the website www.frameworker.co.uk and we can schedule a call to discuss your next steps
Hi Luke, I'd suggest first taking a look at tender opportunities that your local council are promoting and see if they're buying services that you could go for. A quick google for your council + "tender" "portal" should do the trick. Otherwise drop us a message on our website www.frameworker.co.uk/contact/ and we can arrange a call
Hi, our speciality is public sector tendering. If you're interested in accessing public sector opportunities, please check out our Tender Setup Service www.frameworker.co.uk/tender-setup-service/
Hi, it's very industry specific. For example, a taxi firm's biggest emissions will be burning fuel, but without spending significant amounts migrating to electric vehicles, reducing fuel consumption will be a major difficulty. However, fuel usage might be easier for businesses in the service industry through remote working technology and reducing the need for commutes. The challenge will likely depend heavily on your industry, but also on your individual business constraints, i.e., the amount of staff and financial resources you can throw at it
Net Zero is a dystopian nightmare and should be resisted at all costs unless you want to ruin your children’s lives for the appeasement of deranged neo Marxists. This climate drivel is the greatest fraud of our lifetimes.
i have built a new recruitment agency but im struggling to have client. I have a lot of motivated and quality workers. can anyone help to fill just 1 tender template please? thanks a lot for your help
Am a new recruitment agency Need help to win a tender or just get a client. I m set up, have employees and need a client. Any help is very much appreciated
We're in the same boat Jessica. We're based in the UK & seem to be struggling landing that 1st client. We've been overlooked when it comes to tenders due to our lack of portfolio, references & age of our care/nursing recruitment agency.
I can’t speak for Frameworker but in our experience all bid applications remain confidential for only the contracting body to see. However if a bidder has any questions regarding aspects of the Invitation To Tender then that (and its answers) generally are made public for all bidders to see.
@@PocketProjects Exactly, however if you win a tender, the contract value will be published publicly, along with your company name. Commercially sensitive data will be kept confidential however
Hi, thanks for the question. A mini competition (sometimes called a mini tender) is usually conducted when a buyer (like a council) uses a pre-existing framework. They find a framework that offers the goods or services they want, and then only invite the suppliers who have already been awarded a place on the framework. If you're not on the framework then you won't be invited to compete. The advantage is they can speed up the tendering process and limit the number of tender responses they receive and have to score. This process usually is quicker than a full tender and asks fewer questions of a supplier. Think if it like asking for a quote, with a few extra questions thrown in, rather than a full detailed tender process.
@@Frameworker thanks very much !! I work for the council and my boss wanted a report of the mini tenders we had done, couldn’t find a description anywhere
Thanks for the feedback Pal, we'll add it to the pipeline. If there are any specific questions you have you can reach out to us on our website www.frameworker.co.uk
Hi Stefon, I can't speak for private sector tenders, but Contracts Finder is probably your best bet as it captures the majority of public sector tender opportunities. Very low value tenders don't actually have to be publicly advertised and can be competed for through a request for quote (RFQ) process, usually by invitation only. If I were you I'd register on your local council's procurement portal and keep an eye out for new tenders. Most will be published on Contracts Finder though.
UK public sector tenders are governed by a law called The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (check out our video on it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c2rxS05oJTo.html) which basically means public bodies, like councils, NHS trusts, schools etc have to follow the basic principles of open, fair and transparent competition (i.e. not favouring one supplier over another and making it clear within the tender document how they intend to score the tender submissions). Company tenders aren't governed by these rules and so companies have the flexibility to run their tenders how they see fit. More often than not, company tenders will invite specific participants to tender so it will be harder for you to find open adverts for company tenders. However they don't want to pay over the odds for a product or service, and still want assurances that the winning supplier will be able to deliver. So these tenders will probably operate in much the same way (with a set of criteria that will be scored, including a quote, and require bidders to demonstrate an ability to deliver).
Hello. Just wanted to say a big thank you to the creators of this video and content writers :) No textbook or website could explain the concept of "Tender' as easy as you did! Liked and subscribed to this channel :) Thank you very much!
Excellent video, key knowledge on the importance of social value with winning public sector contracts is broken down in a clear and coincide manner. A video on other potential routes to market would also be useful please.
**PLEASE NOTE, THE OJEU THRESHOLDS HAVE CHANGED SINCE THIS VIDEO, SEE OUR ARTICLE FOR FURTHER DETAILS** www.frameworker.co.uk/articles/applying-for-public-sector-tenders/
Thanks Joseph, although we touch upon finding opportunities in our videos, we've been thinking about a video dedicated to tips on how best to search for new tenders. If you'd like to be in with a chance to win the Skype consultation, please state what video you'd like us to do next.
