I have to be honest with you. I disliked that song the moment I heard it. I was still pretty young GT but boy did that song annoy me. I do hope all is well and you're still rocking. Talk to you soon....Out!
You want suggestions? How about cover songs that charted better than the originals. For instance Unchained Melody originally sung by Todd Duncan and covered by hundreds or Handyman originally done by Jimmy Jones and covered by Del Shannon and James Taylor/
Number 1 for a week in the old hometown 23/2/1968. It knocked "Sadie" by Johnny Farnham off the top spot - Sadie was on its way to becoming the biggest selling Australian record of all time at the time. Hey Hey Bunny made 64!
@@the_guitar_trooperPlease excuse the expression but 'I liked that dumb a** song'. I'm not alone if it song sold a million. Always a pleasure to watch your clips GT.
I always knew that riff had to have been Pinball Wizard-inspired. It´s even in the same key, but that girl always sounded like a male singing to me. Reminiscent of Alan Clarke of the Hollies.
I loathed Hermans Hermits as a kid. it took me years to realize they were likely a bunch of nice fellas who simply did not wish to work in the factories. more power to 'em ay? still, the music was ghastly 😱
Eddie Brigati was the singer and tambourine player. Dino Danelli was the drummer. Dino was originally a jazz drummer and played with Lionel Hampton at 16 years of age.
Hey! Thanks for that! The resource that I tapped for that bit marked him as a ‘percussionist’ and I just extrapolated it to drummer without thinking. Apologies all around!
Hi Trooper, great video. This is Music-is-Breath, btw. I have been offline since Helena blew through. Internet was down, but it finally came back solidly online on my phone. My computer is still down. So finally I've gotten to watch this fantastic video. It was worth the wait ❤
🤨🤔 I was today old when I found out about these other two versions.Dione and Shaw sound similar, but Naked eyes version has that kick for me, it was one of my MTV jams going through my teen years in the 80s.
I love your shorts clips. I can't figure out for the life of me how to add comments or give them thumbs up because my vision is so bad. May I please correct you on pronouncing Felix last name from the rascals. Ka - va - la - ter He was interviewed in a video on, pop goes the '60s channel. I think he knows how to pronounce his own name. Now you do too! Paisano
These are some of the songs from my youth that gave me hope that love would conquer all. Those of us that are hippies in our hearts believe it's still possible.. Thanks for the insider info, always a pleasure to learn new stuff about classic music.
