Hello.. please I want to buy the the Lumix GH4 for photography and videography but all the reviews I see for this camera is for videography. I understand it's very good for videos and also shoots 4k but I want to know if it's also very good for photography because I will be using it more for photography. Please I am a beginner and I am on a tight budget so this is the camera I can afford and I chose it because of the 4k at that price range. Will you recommend it for photography?
ik this vid is old but if my video is in 1080p, do i set the resolution in the editing software to 1080p and then export as 1440p, or do i set both to 1440p?
@@latrelldub best way is to set your timeline to 1080p. Do all of your editing n 1080p. When you are finished change your timeline to 2560x1440. Then export it that way.
Appreciate you bro, I been shooting all out channels vids on the c100 mk ii but I need a second A cam for our upcoming guests episodes, I’m soooo happy with the c100 mk ii im every way BUT IT don’t have face tracking autofocus with most lenses except the STM lenses with are gross looking images IMO. Dp a the C300 get you face tracking with all lenses?
Hi, I have a question! Have you ever shown something on a cinema screen made with analog lenses on the Blackmagic 4k? I haven't tried it yet and I'm afraid it won't be good. I'm considering the Takumar 135mm.
@@STGFilmmakers Yeah I've heard great things about that lens, I use the Lumix 12-35 on the OG BMPCC, this seems like the super 35 zoom to have. Thank you for the recommendation!
I completely screwed up a 40,000 JPY video project listening to other RU-vidrs talking about shooting in CINE4 with all these crazy settings without bothering to try shooting with PP mode off entirely. Turns out the Sony a7iii shoots the most beautiful 4K video I have Ever seen in its DEFAULT MODE. Amazing. Especially with my Fujinon MK18-55 CINE lens; the footage is absolutely *stunning* right out of the camera. I just wish I had have seen this video First because now I wouldn't have to spend the next Three Months going over 300,000 frames of video and Manually re-shading and re-coloring everything with keyframes. I hope more people find this video sooner than I did. Thanks for sharing the sample footage.
cheers fam thanks. I love the a6000+ series as a whole. I'm actually thinking of getting a 6400 soon, but I'm also thinking of just getting the 6600 for the IBIS.
Now that's a great pick as well! The only thing I'd mention is I believe it's only 6fps compared to 11fps. So at least for someone who shoots sports or fasting moving objects that may be a draw back. But....the FF does make it enticing!
This week, I've been considering adding a second camera to complement my BMPCC 4K. Given the importance of autofocus, especially when working with paying clients, I'm starting to think that my BMPCC 4K might become my secondary camera.
Pocket4k+ soft lense is for artsy/filmaking/shooting music videos. For autofocus, use a sony fx30. Sharp/beautiful images.. anything corporate or commercial wise.
Agreed. I do a mix between AF and MF myself. I actually program a button easily thumb accessible (not a switch on the lens) that toggles between. Reliable AF is extremely useful.
I’d push back (just a little) just because I’m not seeing what the FX30 offers for the additional $500 price tag over an a6700 lol. I mean why not have a mechanical shutter and viewfinder + everything the FX30 does. I mean it has a fan and dual card slots for $500? At least that's my main take away :P
I picked up a c300 about 6 months ago and it’s amazing what it’s capable of. I’ve been using a regular EF-S kit lens and it just works well. I’ve used some other lenses but having optical stabilization is huge.
@@STGFilmmakers I wish there was a way to trigger the autofocus from a distance without an expensive controller or a wifi adapter but I’ll figure it out eventually. I’ve just been careful setting up my shots and working with my limitations. Only paid $320 for mine! No XLR inputs and the screen was busted tho.
hey i'm getting error in importing mov files in project it says :- importer reported generic error I've tried 1. Change file location 2. Clear media 3. Install HEIC from microsoft still not working do you have any solution?
@@STGFilmmakers I greatly appreciate your response 🫡.. I bought a c300 last night for music videos and I was nervous about the lack of slow motion & quality of the 1080 in today’s market .. I was double thinking my decision and was wondering should I have got a gh5 instead but when I see the footage from the gh5 it’s very clear but it just doesn’t have that “REAL MOVIE LOOK “ .. not to say it’s not nice but it just lacks the “shot on film 🎞 look“
Still have my GH4. Sometimes for video you don't want a camera with IBIS because of the camera is shaking and even if IBIS is turned off it can still move.
I've been following your work with the Canon C300 Mark 1, and I'm impressed by the quality of your footage. I'm curious about your file transfer process - do you use a specific application or method to streamline this? Have you encountered any issues or challenges with the files directly from the card? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Heya. No I have no issues really. The only thing that is different (besides needing a CF card reader) is that the actual video files are tucked away in folders, however, when I import the folder into Davinci it automatically discovers the video files like you would normally see coming from a modern mirrorless/DSLR. Not sure about any other NLEs though. I hate to say it but switching to Davinci may solve a lot of issues you may typically run into, to include file importing.
Thinking about getting a c300 with the dual pixel sensor I am imagining the low light is still as good if not better. Do you have any experience with the dual pixel sensor
I noticed you put (rec709 conversion applied) I was under the impression it was rec709 already? If its not rec709 what would the conversion be for color space and gamma?
So the input color space would be V-Gamut and the Gamma would be Panasonic Vlog but... Since it's not an actual Log curve technically we can just make the curve corrections ourselves. Panasonic's factory VLOG LUT can still work. It's tricky I understand what your trying to say though. It's just that the LOG in the GH4 isn't technically a full log curve so when applying a color space transform it's going to look very aggressive. I have applied a transform in the way described above and just turn the gain down on the node to adjust the intensity and that seems to work as well.
