Nothing exciting here, just the uneventful life of an ordinary housewife in England, living her best life and loving it. If you enjoy watching snippets of all things homely, seasonal, and with a few badly made cakes thrown in, then this channel might be for you. Welcome!
I'm guilty of stashing pottery, not using it in case I break it! Add to this, a load of pottery just inherited from MIL, which I've stashed. Your breakfast looked delicious!
i've never seen the point of having 'best dishes' - which is to say, ones you never use. My mother-in-law tried to give me a whole set when she was downsizing and I wouldn't have them 😆 My mum has cupboards full of the stuff that she got when she and my dad were married and I don't think any of it has ever been used - and they've been married over 50 years! Now, give me a set of Denby and I'll be quite happy to use that for my morning toast.😉. What a lovely flower arrangement you made - you're so clever - it turned out beautifully. Thank you for all the Henry-cat content...always a delight! 🥰
What a yummy vlog! All of it looked so delicious, and that floral arrangement was just perfect, and from your own garden. I totally agree about using the fancy things, it helps romanticize an ordinary moment too. Ok…off to get something to eat now lol!!!😋
Love love your content. Thank you for sharing and please continue; I have a smile every time I see that you've uploaded a video. I"am canadian and a huge anglophile. I love traditions; they make us grounded I think. Could you help us with a recipe for Eton mess.?
What a lovely video of cookbooks, garden and more books and magazine. The life I can relate to; late 40s, menopausal, trying to loose weight, and likes anything sweet with cinnamon. Thank you for sharing! Cheers!
Sadie your videos are always full of lovely things, and Henry Cat is the best way to start any video. I cannot believe how reasonably priced the Spode bits are. Hope you are all enjoying a more relaxed time (if A levels have finished) and have a wonderful week. Parveenxxx.
Happy (very belated) birthday to Violet! I remember your balloon arches from when you had your blog..that's quite a long-standing tradition....the stuff that memories are made of. :) xo
I'll happily send you some of our weather...it was 37C at 5:30am this morning with the 'feels like' allowance. Absolutely horrid. I do so love your vlogs, Sadie...thank you for sharing your lovely life. xo
ooh!! I've got a couple of videos to catch up on - a perfect accompaniment my Sunday morning cup of tea! I love that blue pattern Spode - so lovely. I especially love your no-mow garden...*sigh*...I wish we had something like that over here. I might be tempted to do it on my own next year -- that'll really send our neighbours 'round the bend! They already must be in anguish over my 'wild edges' and abundant dandelion crop :D. xo
Your videos always feel like a chat with a friend 💛 I grew up in the generation that watched Bridget Jones and Love Actually. There was a lot of toxicity in the 90s on Women's body size. Perfectly healthy women oddly thinking they were overweight... Hope you achieve your goal, for the right reasons.
I was so happy to see another video from you this week. I just love your style and your purchases :) :). Good luck with your salads; if they all look as good as the one you showed us, you're in clover (as we say here).
Your yard must smell heavenly with all the roses 🌹 ❤ Another “scrummy” video, thank you 🙏 Sadie. Your vlogs are such a blessing to me. We had a bit of hail the other day, too. Quite a bit of rain has fallen here, so far, which is fantastic. Most of Alberta has been suffering in drought conditions for several years 👍
Happy birthday, Violet! Your day looked wonderful, just cannot believe you’re 18 🎉👍😀 Sadie, the balloons looked lovely. I’m glad you showed the tide when you were at lunch. Quite fascinating to this ol’ prairie province gal lol. I may have to search for a pretty summertime strawberry cup, too. Perfect summer mug!
Thank you Wynne. It's shocking isn't it, just how quickly 18 years have speeded by. Ah yes, I can see why the tide changes would be fascinating to you, it's quite something to see! Yes, you treat yourself to a nice summer cup, we must all treat ourselves. xx
I love your channel. You have a lovely chilled out approach. (Just bought the pink dish, along with a few other ceramic pieces which I absolutely didn't need! 😂)
Happy 18th violet my son also turned 18 last week oh where does the time go 😳 love your videos Sadie if you have an Instagram account I would follow you there too
Happy birthday to your son too Joanne, I hope he had a lovely birthday. It's a very bittersweet time isn't it? Happy to see them grow into young adults, but, such a scary world and we have to encourage them to go out into it. I do have the gram, my account name is mrs.sadie.c It's private, but I should recognise your name so I'll let you in!
Wow 18! Wishing Violet a Belated Happy Birthday 🎂💝 I feel like Tom and Violet have grown up together without them knowing it :) The cookies look delicious, I'm definitely going to give them a go. Shame about the plate, it looked cute, but the mug was definitely meant to be. Have yourself a good week. xx
Thank you Suzanne, and yes, totally agree! It does feel as if they've grown up together. The same trials and tribulations! You must try the cookies, they were so good. And so easy. Aw, the plate. You know when you get a delivery and somehow, even before you open it, you just KNOW there's a mishap inside? I had that. But the mug more than made up for it. xx
Happy 18th birthday to Violet and what a beautiful cake - another great idea Sadie! Cannot believe Violet is 18! Glad she didn't have exams on her birthday as well. Another lovely video full of pretty lovely things - makes me want to rush out shopping! Hope you all have a lovely week. Parveen xxx
I know! How did that happen? 18 already. Time has flown. Yes, it worked out well for her to not have an exam, that would have been rotten luck. Yes, go out shopping, you know you want to! 😉x
Wishing Violet a memorable and happy birthday. She's a lucky girl. I can't remember the last time someone put such effort into a birthday for me. That cake is beautiful!
Wow 18! Adult now, well not really. I have a 19 and 22 yr old and though they like to think their adults-they really don’t act like it yet! Great idea for the small cake, really made it look special. And that balloon arch would make me feel special too. Cookies looked yummy, and that plate you put them on 😍😍
Totally agree with that, young adult .. but ... not quite! I was so pleased with how the cake turned out, and all the decorations really. Considering I put in barely any thought , certainly didn't plan much, but it turned out nicely. Ah, the plate. It's H&M home, and I looked on the website recently and they still have it up for sale if you're interested! x
What a perfect video, Sadie! I loved hearing and seeing the rain, so delightfully exquisite ❤ Henry cat is so fine, I so enjoy seeing him and Tiger, too. Your roses are absolutely gorgeous. I almost fell off my chair at Violet’s age this year… how is that possible lol?! Time does fly, but I do try to appreciate every moment I can, as you do, too. 😘
I know, the years have flown by haven't they? It's bittersweet too, time for her to spread her wings, and yet I look at her and see my little baby in her pram, reading a comic and chomping a snack on the way home from the shops. 😥 I have to include the cats, they are too fabulous not to film! x
I've recently found you on yt and I'm catching up on your earlier videos. Love your content ! The nutcracker looks fabulous, what a good idea to use ribbon. I love your wonky stripes x
Hahaha 😆 very funny about the golden syrup. As a mum and introvert who works full-time from home, your videos always feel like a catch up with a friend. Btw not shallow at all, you're just visually sensitive, nothing wrong with liking cute things. Vintage style font and styling on packaging looks lovely.
Gorgeous randomness! And thank you for all the HenryCat footage....excellent! (and Tiger too, of course). I'll go for the old-fashioned classic packaging every time....how fortunate that you have so many classic brands still available to you. I often wondered about that lion on the Golden Syrup tin...I admit to not having looked at it too closely...I think I told myself it was just sleeping 😭...I mean, it's a bit off-putting I suppose but not catastrophically so. Anyway, thanks for the beautiful garden tour. I thought of you yesterday as I was snipping some roses from the garden to bring indoors...you're right, they smell divine - no comparison with shop-bought flowers. xo
The funny thing is I can't say I'd noticed the situation with the lion on the tin UNTIL they said they were changing it and why! I'd still be oblivious to this day had they not put it out there. Am touched that you thought of me when cutting roses, that's actually made my day! Yes, nothing smells as good as a rose from the garden . x
Perfect randomness vlog as a I watch from my boat in Port Dover, the rain falling outside. Loved the jazz music playing in background, so cozy for a Sunday morning. Classic packaging for the win every time….drawn to anything that looks old. Thanks Sadie, enjoyed very much. Gosh, Henry is good looking!
Henry is rather handsome isn't he? He can be a real rotter but then he'll give me a slow blink with those gorgeous eyes and all is forgiven! He has me wrapped around his little paw. Glad you enjoyed the random nonsense! 💕
Being a Kiwi - I am partial to Vegemite. However, growing up in Canada it was hard to get. Most stores do sell Marmite now, so I am happy with either. I agree on packaging. When I lived in Connecticut I would buy a particular brand of baking powder in a beautiful red and white canister. I brought it home to Canada with me and would dump my baking powder into that canister!
I don't know how I missed the alert for this video, but the perfect start to a Saturday morning for me especially with Henry in the video! How cute that Tiger was supervising you in the greenhouse! The cake looked delicious and set off your new cup and saucer beautifully. Hope you have a lovely peaceful weekend. Parveen xxx
think it's because I made an error Parveen. I uploaded it to You Tube with the intention of publishing it a few days later after I'd done all my checks, but it published straightaway. I then set it to private and sheduled it to publish when I wanted it to, but it seems for that reason that it didn't give a notification on the day. So my mistake! Hope you've had a good week, and it's always lovely to find a comment from you x
Thank you for the basil tip. My basil plants have always died . I never knew they couldn't be crowded in the pot. I'm going to try to separate them next time I buy a plant. Also, that cookbook looks fabulous !!!
same, I had no idea. And it's frustrating when the plants die every single time. Happy to report that all plant babies are doing well, so so far, so good! 🪴 The cookbook is a real delight, very pleased with my purchase.
ha ha, I love that! I have to admit, I'm plotting this again this Sunday because it is so good, but then I should stop so it stays as something scrummy to look forward to. I hope you try it, or your own version of it, it's such an easy Sunday lunch. The cake was really good! 😋
Oh that meal looked soooo yummy, I made a mental note of how you made those potatoes. When you were scraping the potatoes….was that oil and herbs at the bottom of the sheet pan?
Yes, I use a mix of olive oil, vegetable oil, and as many dried herbs as I fancy, lots of S&P, then before roasting dot dabs of butter & your roasties will come out crispy & golden. I promise! ❤
so happy to see your video this morning. Cake looked DELICIOUS!! And the chicken also. I took a bet with myself that I knew what was in your delivery boxes:) Beautiful cup and saucer; I like the color also. Looking forward to your next video. Have a great week.
Thank you Linda 🥰 you are kind. Oh the cake was so good, I will keep it up my sleeve when I need to make an easy peasy but impressive looking cake. ha ha, I'm predictable! You'll never see Temu or Shein hauls on this channel but there's always room for new cornishware! Have a glorious weekend x
Loved seeing Tiger, he’s such a socialite 😂. Henry is so debonair as always. Your videos are a treasure, Sadie dear, thank you 🙏 for them. Oh, lol at the tin of goodies at the start, I would have scarfed them down, too, they looked delicious (especially with a cup of tea or coffee)
Tiger is a cheeky delight! I love his daily visits. Henry isn't quite so keen. Thank you Wynne, for watching, commenting, and staying in touch. I miss our old blogging friends, seems such a lng time ago now. So it's always nice when I see you've stopped by and watched a video. x
I so love your videos....they never fail to soothe and calm, thank you so much for your efforts! I'm so glad we got to see some Henry footage (And Tiger, of course) - I missed seeing him in the last one. Please do keep sharing your world, lovely Sadie....it's a beautiful one. xo
aw, that's such a lovely thing to say, thank you . Ah, cats. Somethings they drive me crazy with the constant hassle for a treat, but a life without cats in it would be so sad. Just published the latest vlog and both chaps appear in it and I shall try to remember to include them more often! 🐱🐱x
Another wonderful video Sadie and very inspiring as always, lovely to see Henry as well as Tiger. Love the new wreath and you may just have inspired me to dig out some bits and have a go myself. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Parveen xxx
ooh, I love that Parveen, did you make one? How did it turn out? Be warned though, they become quite addictive to do, but in my opinion there's nothing wrong with that! 😉x
@@justplainsadie Sadly not yet as my wreath forms are in the loft, but hopefully will be able to do that soon. I will definitely let you know when I do. xxx
