OK, now that you're probably done with your masters - I have questions! I have a BFA from 2005. I've been working as a developer since 2011. I have been in roles like Designer/developer, product designer, ux designer, ui designer and all combinations. I've been teaching full-stack dev and product design for the last 4 years independently. Sometimes I think about getting a masters degree (for fun) (for that little boost on the "does this guy know what he's doing" scale and resume etc). But I've read a bunch of HCI books and it seems like I've learned all of these things already via UX and just "figuring things out" while on the job. I'm happy with my work contracting and teaching, but I'm also interested in working for a larger company to work on bigger problems (like Apple or something). Do you think someone like me (42/experienced) would get value out of an HCI masters? I really don't want to just do it for the sake of the degree - but also, maybe that in itself is worth it and opens new opportunities? What's your view? Also, how important do you think the school reputation is? Thanks.
Great video, I just seen on Linkdein a guy use Canva to create a pp ( more of the visualzation of the app). Question do you use any productivity tool or project management tools to manage your personal projects or work projects to stay on track? ( Asana, Notion, Monday, Motion). Thanks
I don't understand my instructors. They keep telling me that I should not add the whole user flow because it is overwhelming and this guy got a Job with this Case. UX is so gray....it is driving me crazy hahs
Ugly birkenstocks is the worst thing to happen to fashion! It's super awful to see girls and guys wear these super ugly sandals everywhere. No guy is going to have a crush on a girl that wears ugly birkenstocks!! and vice versa. Because Ugly birkenstocks are Haram! I like to call ugly birkenstocks as Ugly Shits because those ugly shoes look sh!t!! It will be better for fashion sake if shoemakers create better looking birkenstocks. The QO500 birks are the best looking birkenstocks to wear. Who agrees???
Thank you for this video! When adding a case study to my online portfolio, should I include all of the detail shown in this video. Or should I break it down to only a few key sections and images? I dont want to overwhelm anyone who is looking at my portfolio but also want to show enough to they can see the general process. Any tips you might have for adding case studies to an online portfolio would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Ian , thanks for sharing - this is SUPER COOL and gaves me a lot of useful tips even in such a short video. I was thinking about some ideas for my own portfolio and you jsut gave me the answers or justifications I needed although, I will be making it in Framer, but your overall aesthetics and approach is exactly what I am personally leaning towards ----- my omly comment - maybe I could recommend to juice up thumbnails in your portfolio? they look a little bit repetitive now, but this is jsut a humble suggestion ----- thank you for the video!
@sachac Everything is Password protected. How can we see the full portfolio. You mentioned for case studies while you have locked everything what you have provided in filter options.
