Thanks. I’m studying UX/UI for a potential career change. I keep hearing about the hiring market being terrible at the moment but I keep telling myself to continue learning and be prepared for when the opportunity comes. Perhaps I’m naive in thinking the job market for UX will ever improve but there’s really only one way to ever find out.

Good news is that it seems to be opening up a bit. I will say however that the barrier to get into the industry is getting harder and harder. Companies are wanting more and more experience for lower level UX jobs.

@@sachac thanks for the response. I’m not sure if you’ll have an answer for this but I currently have almost a decade of experience in project management. Do you see any value in having that experience on a resume coupled with a good portfolio? Or do you believe recruiters are mainly looking for design related experience?
