I`m always surprised when I see awards going to guitar players who only know speed. Someone like Peter Frampton comes along with more style and finesse in one finger than any of these guys will ever have. There truly is no justice in the world.
I was in Winter Land when the Grateful Dead filmed there, it was a great time, didn't catch Frampton though. Humble Pie was a fantastic amalgam of players, but Pete did what he needed to do, because he had all the talent to be his own act and do what he does best. it happened the way it should have.
Oh yes, being a teenager in the 1970's, was the best, now realize how blessed to have grown up with this. Whoever said there is no time machine in life, just listen. Saw him with Kansas & Survivor at the Gorge in George, WA. ---- Time to transport again to a better time....🎶💯✌️
I also wanted to add that Peter was an amazing front man on his own but Steve Marriott was the voice of Humble Pie. One of the greatest rock vocalist to ever grace this planet. I will say that Peter and Steve trading guitar lick could not be beat. They were like a finely tuned machine.
I use to fall asleep to Rocking' the Fillmore not because it was bad but it took me to a whole different place mentally. One of Humble Pie's greatest albums and one of the greatest live albums ever made. I had the great fortune of seeing them before Peter left and they were phenomenal. I've had a Humble Pie licence plate cover on the back of my car for years. It says "Humble Pie, What more can I say"? Been on there so long I can't get it off and don't want to.
Peter Frampton, é simplesmente maravilhoso, existe uma certa sensibilidade, combinando, sua voz, seus, movimentos compilando uma performance, extra- ordinária.
His best days, IMO. Nobody deserved the commercial success more than Pete, he is a hard worker with much talent. But, the first three albums were his pinnacle to me, after that, not so much.
