As someone who has Hattena (and all its line), Meowscarada and Lilligant among his favorites (alongside Galarian Ponyta, Blissey, Clefable, Yamper, Mareep, Munchlax, almost the entire Eevee line [except for Jolteon] and others fluffy/round/squishy/"girly"-like/friend-shaped pokemon) and tend to "gender lock" certain pokemon (if I catch a male Oddish, he WILL BE a Vileplume, if it's a she then will be a Bellossom, for example), I felt personally attacked 😂 Jokes aside tho (well, sort of), I dunno how I wasn't subscribed yet after watching your video about the food chain three freaking times 😶🤦🏻 Edit: On a side note. You commented something about Mr. Mime being Fairy-type. After the CRIME they commited putting that ugly goblin as Fairy, I won't even try to argue with GameFreak... I just hate 'em for that
I'm hoping ya don't actually feel too called out lol Tbh I have specific names for pokemon myself but never think of gender. Like Goggles for Flygon line, Atlas for Dragonite, and so on. Let alone the names that are immortalized from nuzlockes on the channel But thanks for watching that many times oh my gosh lol, and subscribing! Here's to hoping many others realize they aren't subbed and want to!
@@KrillikVA I'm not a native English speaker and most of what I know comes from media itself, so sometimes I have to rewind a lot or just straight out rewatch something if I really wanna absorb what I'm listening to, soooo... yeah, that explains this part And I didn't ACTUALLY felt called out. I mean, I know most of my favs are kinda sus but that's not the reason I like them, so my conscience is clean xD I dunno why I care so much about the whole gender thing tbh, is something that I have in me since I first played pokemon (believe it was Crystal my first game, maybe FireRed... not sure, has been a while) and never gave it too much thought. I keep rolling with it tho I have a similar thing with names too, I'll always name Roselia after really poisonous plants, like Belladonna or something, or give food names to cat-looking pokemon cuz my three cats are named after my favorite desserts, previous mentioned Galarian Ponyta will always have a My Little Pony reference in its name and so on 🤷🏻
“These are war crimes!” My brain, Chuckles’ voice: “I’M GOING TO COMMIT VARIOUS WAR CRIMES!” Video: “I’m talking about the Geneva Convention in a POKÉMON VIDEO-“ My brain, Chuckles’ voice: “Geneva Convention? More like Geneva SUGGESTION-“ 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 Bonus: “I cast g*n, prepare ta meet God!”
What you said about Bobcats vs Bears is also true about Wolverines vs Bears. Wolverines are extremely vicious creatures and Bears go out of their way to avoid them because they're so aggressive and put up so much of a fight. It just goes to show that even if something is bigger and stronger than you if you're crazy enough they won't fuck with you. And also I do like the standing format. I feel like it holds my attention.
The sun is a star...so stars are suns of other solar systems. Coulda just Googled that...... Definition found online: A star is a luminous spheroid of plasma held together by self-gravity.
I will agree about rotom and if anything I think it energizes the devices, so it gives energy to the devices instead of mooching off of them. Idk how it generates electricity, maybe it has an electric charge because of it's atoms idk haha. But that wouldn't be autotroph, it would just be an inorganic electric thing. So yeah... idk!
An even deeper dive would have looked at learnable moves and anime appearances etc. I'm pretty sure any pkmn who can l ens arn photosynthesis doesnt need a pokedex entry for it for example. ALSO many arent just one thing... like bulbasaur can photosynthesize but also eats food.is it digesting? Is it composting and absorbing? How different is that from.wjat we do? Carnivorous plants can use enzymes to help digest prey then absorb the nutrients but also photosynthesize for example. Some just trap them and allow them to become fertilizer. Is bulbasaur just a plant or an animal with chlorophyll containing cells? Like certain sea slugs (though those are stolen chlorophyll...)
This would be the exact reason why I stated in the intro that I will abide by what their Pokedex states primarily, and what their primary diet is because otherwise it would get incredibly messy. What happens if these Pokemon never get the TM needed or move tutor to teach them these moves? Any animal when pushed to the brink will eat other animals or even cannibalize their own kind. Realistically speaking, even real food chains are not accurate ways in which to understand the true world or how it functions when in reality it is a category based generalization of what makes things easier to understand the ideal conditions in which animals would exist edit: in other words, you're thinking the right way and asking those deeper questions that can be studied further on a case by case basis with better accuracy. Though even as I state in the video, this all becomes so incredibly messy and speculative as we mix reality and fiction
Woah! Usually I don't respond this fast but that's amazing! I think one mistake I made was simply stating that apes and monkeys are herbivores instead of stating they (correct me if I'm wrong please) primary herbivores but are still omnivores! I primarily focused on what the pokedex says and would make sense with and could've clarified more with real animals to be more accurate It actually blows my mind to see people within the field like yourself here and helping to educate me, so I appreciate it!
@@KrillikVA thanks for responding I’ve always had a passion for primatology it’s always nice to see people that are also interested in the field but most primates are at least insectivores with only a select few being fully herbivorous like the proboscis monkeys
@amazingpi well damn. This is new to me I'm trying to do a better job with the next big scientific deep dive by making sure I read books from more educated individuals THEN doing the online research (looking at fossils and the prehistoric world!) I've always loved learning and if through youtube I can be a lifelong learner and teach others through the medium of pokemon as my vehicle, that would be a massive win I'm hoping I can keep my eyes out for you and other people as in the future, I'd want to reach out to more educated people in the field for potential interviews for these videos For now though, I have to fit this all between the full time job lol
It was just a little Hot Topic buy! I think it's like $12 honestly. One of these days I'll wear my pink axolotl drinking strawberry milk for these videos but I at least wore my mushrooms chilling shirt in a more recent video!
I understand why the real world references were removed from pokemon as well as real world animals but i consider it to be a major character flaw to not immediately assume real animals exist in Pokemon. Like Raichu is still incapacitating Indian elephants but the pokedex just doesn’t say that in particular
I don't say this to be mean, but I would argue against anything that states that I should immediately assume anything. Copperajah and Cufant are very much the Indian Elephant just as Yungoos is our Mongoose Pokemon. Pokemon infestations do happen, rattata replacing the normal mice in the world. I am always open to argument, but I do strongly believe animals don't exist in the world, now it's a matter of figuring out what happened to them officially outside of just saying "they're extinct" from the lead/original writer
I would argue that since most grass type pokemon are likely made up of plant cells, that it would still make pokemon that eat them herbivores. The next question to then ask is "what makes up plant sentience?" as we've found out more and more that plants may be more sentient than we thought. This doesn't mean they are necessarily self aware, but at least sentient. Carnivorous essentially runs on the logic that animal meat is eaten. The world of pokemon is super weird about all this, and I'm planning to do some reading to dig deeper into these questions and analyze them
I'm open to that argument honestly. It's supposed to be a mix between "a cat/dog/fox that you could vaguely see in your dreams" and all three are omnivores. I based it more closely on the pokedex and behaviors since some pokemon like Vileploom are based on real things but have their diets be exact opposites
It's not about them being the only pollinators, it's about them being the PRIMARY pollinators, so without them it would have a catastrophic effect on our planet
It was my understanding that Pokémon were the animals themselves. Like on this planet there are no creatures that we called animals it’s just Pokemon of some kind. Guess I was wrong. Lol
If it makes you feel better this is all a learning process for me too! I didn't truly know the answer until I started to dig into and deep dive so I could try and teach everyone about real life stuff through the vehicle of pokemon!
The war from King AZs era was Pokémons equivalent to the 100 years war a war between France and the United Kingdom, or in pokemons case Kalos and Galar.
When it comes to Pokérus, I like to think its the cause of how Pokémon first came to be, but Scientific and biological studies werent that advanced until Gen 1 where it wqs considered rare. The reason why its so rare? Patient Zero in your game is actually lesser evolved (in a way) than other Pokémon of its species, and Pokérus emerges as a corrective DNA structure.
I think it went like this. Since in generation 1 there weren’t many Pokémon, and it was extremely early in the series, the idea of Pokémon and real life animals hadn’t been explored and fleshed out quite yet. However, once the series grew and evolved over the years, the developers probably went with the idea of Pokémon eventually becoming the animals of the series as a whole since there were enough of them after a certain point. This would also go for other early things in the anime too like Pokémon levels, and what moves they can learn that just changed and evolved over the years. That’s just my take on it
Thank you! The best thing I can ask for when anyone says this is to share the channel with friends! I still work a full time job, so imagine what I could do when making a living completely on this, my passion!
Stars are not planets, yes the brights light on the night sky might be Jupiter, Venus. The major off them are starts like the sun The sun is not a planet
Pawniard, Bisharp and Kingambit also look like tokusatsu villains. Pawniard look like weak minions, Bisharp like a powerful rival to the heroes and Kingambit like the big bad that is almost always sitting down and plotting schemes.
Simple: the creators eventually just focused on the pokemon aspect rather than the normal natural order of things. The show had pokemon seem like outside alien creatures at first, but then later as earthly inhabitants.
