It amazing how they still attempt to repair and do it good at the same time, it should have been scrapped by now if it wasn't for whoever bought this amazing train!
What's the story on 3's current mechanical issues? Without naming names I've seen some social media that suggest the issues are far worse than What's being reported.
Pulling in reverse allows for better visibility on the way down the grade so the train crew doesn’t have to look around a set of cars. They run around the train at Rock Siding and then can pull up the hill with complete visibility ahead of them.
I was hoping to see that classic look of smoke or steam billowing up high above the train. Can you tell me why that number 28 had hardly any smoke or steam? Thanks
It’s an oil burner, and modern firing techniques usually try and reduce emissions with steam locomotives. Not to mention that most of the time, 28 was coasting downhill.
Gonna be visiting railtown 1897 myself this Fourth of July weekend with my family and I sure am hyped for my visit. Despite 3 won’t be running since I do love her a lot she’s my fav 10 wheeler not to mention in one of my favorite movies but I’m still looking forward to my visit.
@@samstringerphoto360 Oh...thx Sam. I combed that websight and did not see that? All I ever see is Steam on Saturday and Diesel on Sunday. No worries. I dont go anywhere on holidays. I almost went to Columbia on Sunday but decided not to. I stayed home on the 4th to protect my house from all the illegal fireworks on my street. Stay safe.
Thanks Railfan Studios! My wife and I were honored to work this train. We busted tail, but it looked like all our guests had a great time! Thanks for capturing this wonderful evening!
Great Video. Well Done. I hope you enjoyed the moments… 👍🏻 P.s. I am one of the volunteers of that evening; I was in the Rail Speeder. One of the three men.
