Hi Jonathan, I really appreciate your video, it is very helpful! I play guitar and sing at my church. I was looking for a looper when I discovered the Beat Buddy. I have not purchased one yet but I’m sure I will, especially after watching your video. I’ve never used anything like a Beat Buddy, but I can see how it would be an invaluable tool! You also demonstrated how the optional pedal would be important, such as when you paused it while you sang acapella for a moment, then continued on, very nice! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video for novices such as myself! 😁👍🎸
They have produced a top-of-the-range main pedal but why such a poor additional footswitch? If you are thinking of live performance in semi-loud situations the footswitch is fine. However, be warned, the switches make an awful noise. I would not take them into the studio for recording. Their tech man checked out my video and said that the level of noise was 'normal' for them. You can hear the clunk of the switch as well as the squeak of the spring, all amplified by the enclosure.
All that export/ import... just on the better side of dos. Hope they can bring this program into the modern world of click and drag or at least copy/paste.
I would like to say that the mac version works great, a few crashes but its work in progress, simple and intuitive, in one afternoon i learned it and created two sets (10 songs per set) even edited some stuff in the midi editor, so id like to say thanks once more, your videos and the forum mods make it quite simple and enjoyable, :-)
I would love to be able to understand how to edit my patterns ........ this is incredibly complicated.....Instead of trying to explain everything in one video to a bunch of musicians who just may not be tech nerds, why don't they make a bunch of short videos that show how to do just one or two functions?......there is so much info in here to digest it is exhausting. I just want to be able to add or take away from my patterns.
hey mate, this is very helpful. I'm having a question, When we create a song, we are uploading a main loop right. So that's our main beat. Then what is the "Default Drum Set" on the left corner means? Does that override our main loop?

It was a long time ago. If I remember correctly this file came from the old forum and probably mentioned something about the tambourine in that, but I really can’t remember.
This doesn't work for me. When I modify using the BB drum editor, "save as" using any name (into a special folder called "BBdrmMods") and then import, the new kit is not imported. It doesn't show up in the list to "tick". Just not there. I'm using 1.6.4.1 on Mac OS 10.14. Any troubleshooting thoughts?
That's awesome demo using BBuddy, just wondering are those edit drum-sequence or standard drum-pattern from BB used for these worship videos ? From your long-term usage experience with BB, will you recommend or heard of other newer alternative solution maybe better (BB Mini2 or Digitech Trio+ or Srum-U ) I hope able to lead our teenage worship with tools like BB with guitar by myself. This was done before the manager software was released, so all the beats were the ones that came with the BB. As for other devices I have the trio - bought in on special offer and have never used it.
I think they are - that is the problem, they are not computer developers and outsourced the task. There is a brand new manager software on the way, redeveloped from the the ground up - but I have not seen it or used it as the beta is Mac only.
This is incredibly complicated. Why can't they just give us a drum set and allow us to adjust the BPM and arrange in a dedicated set? That would be much more usable for what many if not most of us purchased the Beatbuddy for.
Just got my BB , took a little asking in the BB forum to help me get past some stumbling block , but , it's working in my computer , very cool system , terrific sounding drums . Plus #1 on this company for there back up and forum . The pedal is a no brainer for getting it up and running , very intuitive .

Well, I'm really just trying to get up and running with this thing. I'm not completely computer illiterate, I have mastered to several video editing programs as well as sound editing. But for some reason I find this so hard to get going on. If it was just a matter of plugging in the pedal and going with the preprogrammed beats that would be easy. I am just struggling with everything regarding the beatbuddy manager. I am using an iMac which is fairly new and I'm struggling even too add the update files to the SD card. I also purchased some premium songs which I also cannot add. I'm really still at square one, still trying to figure out how to even put a song set together. I have watched some of your basic tutorial videos as well as some others but they never seem to address the situations I'm facing. They always skip ahead to a place where I'm not even at. I have sent some emails to the people at singular sound but only received one response. Then after that I have not gotten back to me. I'm really just itching to make this thing work and put some songs together but so frustrating that I find this so hard. Guess I was wondering if anyone else was struggling like this. All I seen is five star reviews on their site. I guess they wouldn't be a bias at all when it comes to posting the reviews. lol!! Okay man, thanks for taking the time to respond. I would almost be willing to pay for a Skype session to get this thing going.
I am a guitarist and a drummer and the Beat buddy is not worth the price of $250. Too many worthless Jungle beats. You have to go through numerous beats to find a decent one. There is not enough usable beats like you would use in a real band situation. The intros are too long. The maker is obviously not a drummer. I sent mine back and got my money back. The maker's weird brother answered the phone. He instructed me how to return it. His directions are picky and it must be exact but at least he answered the phone right away and he was decent about it and sent my money back.
This was my first ever video, the idea was not to showcase my guitar or sound, it was to demo the BeatBuddy. The sound was picked up by the microphone on a Nikon 3100 SLR camera. What do you suggest I should have done to improve the sound?
It’s tinny, so eq it. It needs more body. your best bet is to go to a guitar store talk. Talk to a sound tech, they will help you out. Your guitar is not robust on its own so you seem to be over working it.
Hi Jonathan, and I too thank you for your Tutorials on the BeatBuddy pedal. I want to know if I can edit and merge two Drum Songs? I did a recording of a cover song I like, and I was able to manually create the drum set(s) sounds I wanted. But I would like to be able to recreate it in a live performance setting. What I did was record the first part of the song using the “Marching 9 / Standard Drum Kit” song, a second part of the song using “Country 1 / Rock Kit” song, and the third last and outro part using the “Marching 9 / Standard Drum Kit” But it looks like the BeatBuddy editor will only allow one Drum Kit at a time? Or is there a way to merge the two Drum Songs and be able to use both Drum Kits with each song? I’ve already created a folder with a copy of “Marching 9 / Standard Drum Kit” song, renamed the song and changed the BPM setting. I only use the basic intro and 1st. Main Drum loop part with fills. And basically I do the same thing with the “Country 1 / Rock Kit” song without the intro, it just changes straight into the basic main Drum loop with fills. And the finish of the song is the same as the start with “Marching 9 / Standard Drum Kit but uses the outro. When I tried to copy a new separate Drum Fill part by using the add symbol, it included Main Drum Loop, Transition Fill, and Accent Hit fields, but the original song has only the Drum Fill field? Is there a way to delete the unwanted fields? When I right click on any of the fields, the menu options are “Create New Pattern”, and “Add From MIDI File.” Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks! having reverb or echo on your voice is very annoying and not a pro way to talk to people hard to understand some of what you were saying , singers need reverb not speakers

Hello i hooe that you can help me...i want to change the sound of my accent hit, but my wafe sources are empty... ^^ in the video you click on the accent hit and you can choose any wafe sound...but on my default_lib > wave_sources are empty...what should I do?? Hello Jonathan, Good day to you. Thank you for sharing the tutorials. I am from India and lead the choir in my church. I am not a drummer person but I am a guitarist. I have been using the DR 880 from Roland which used to assist with my singing in the church. There are some limitations with the DR 880 which I see are overcome in the BeatBuddy. I have been following the BeatBuddy for sometime now and I think I am going to make the big jump of buying it. The disadvantage I see is the limitation in the number of drum patterns for the various songs. In your videos I also saw that you are creating some Gospel patterns. Would it be ok with you to share those patterns so I can use it also.
4:23: No, that is wrong. I have no Import-button. In the new manager-version I am told to choose "my workspace location". What IS that? How can I choose something I do not know?
that sucks! I dont understand. I dont have an user area or workspace. I do not use a mac. I have not your version of Manager. You should begin with some words for beginners.
Hey Jonathan. I got my beatbuddy today, i am also a worship leader and sometimes dont have drums available. Do you know where i can get some basic BeatBuddy beats that are made for the Praise and Worship Scene that we are in? I really like the way you have songs saved, i would try to do exactly that and also build up my archive of church songs. any tips? Great video :)
Jonathan ,, Great Tutorials ,,, Im having several challenges as Im new to BeatBuddy and to BeatBuddy Forum ,,, I cannot see a way to start a discussion or to make a request ,,, when I login I see a box that tells me my account is waiting for a email verification ,, I have try the resend but I never get the email Im also trying to create a few instruments ( the coins and register sounds for the intro on Pinkfloyds Money )) I have acquired 16bit wav forms and separated them ,,, but I can not seem to get them to play ,,, they import to the instrument window but no sound ... hoping you might help me or point me in the right direction ...
