Real Numbers - Real Budgets - Real Life 💵 My name is Amy and I’m a mom of 3 who is on a mission to change my family tree! My husband and I started this journey with over $132,000 of student loan debt. Follow my journey as I become 100% debt free and strive to achieve financial independence! I use consistent payments (weekly) to help me achieve my financial goals. I share every Friday a series called "Debt Free Friday" where we discuss my weekly financial goal progress, as well as any side hustle income we have brought in to put towards our goals. This consistency has helped us pay off SIX FIGURES of debt! On my channel I discuss budgeting, personal finance, our net worth, paying off debt, building credit and so much more. I never comment but I love your videos. They are such an inspiration. I am also following a budget, and just curious - do you keep a certain amount for a buffer in your checking account? I imagine doing a $0 based budget but so curious how it would work to make sure to not go negative if a big expense comes out. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your comment!! Yes, we do. Typically only a few hundred dollars but I talk more about it usually in my budget recaps. Whatever is left at the end of the month (typically a few dollars no more than $100) we just roll into buffer
Thank you! No child care right now. We are flexing our work schedules for summer and hoping my youngest will have a daycare spot by fall…we’re on a few wait lists and haven’t had luck yet 😩
I am so with you Amy - We have three cards we use for points (one is a SW) citi for costco (we shop there a LOT even though its just the two of us) and another chase - we can usually gift family some of our SW points to have family visit besides if we need to make a last minute trip...the points add up and really do help us ...BUT ITS CAUSE we are BOTH debt free and can manage our expenses - I could NOT have done this before that - glenda

Thank you for making these videos. I'm not a content creator but watching transfer Tuesday videos and debt free Friday videos help me more than you know to continue to make progress towards my goals. I recently opened up a brokerage account with fidelity (I have my Roth in fidelity as well) and decided yesterday to start investing in VOO and VGT. I'm dollar cost averaging into these funds $10 per fund per paycheck every Friday because of these videos.
I have been using your net worth and goals tracking spreadsheet for about 6 or 7 months now - I love it, thank you for sharing! I get so excited to fill in the numbers at the end of every month. We're up about 47k so far this year, although April was a down month for us. Boo for taxes 😂.
Tragedy can really provide perspective. So very sorry for your loss. Definitely do be gentle with yourself. ❤ I like how you have the net worth listed, I’m inspired to do the same. (I have a 2018 CRV too! 🚗
That’s so exciting to hit 300K in retirement and savings account. I track my monthly network and my next milestone is to hit 1 million in assets which I’m hoping to achieve by December 2024
I have been feeling the same about our financial goals. Two close family people passed in the past couple months. I have been thinking a LOT about balance between living the now and invedting for future.
I’m so sorry to hear that. And yes it definitely brings a totally new perspective. I’m hoping I can try to find a good balance moving forward to keep the goals in mind but also release the strings a little ♥️🫶🏼
You are showing a significant amount of decolletage, and you keep moving your hair away from it to show it off. I can't see your eyes for my eyes being drawn to your chest. You don't need to show cleavage to encourage people to become debt free. If you have a husband you shouldn't need to do that. That ais for HIM, not for everybody else. I think your next challenge should be showing how you can look like a lady without showing three inches of decollate'. You have scaled insurmountable amount of debt successfully. I have no doubt you can do that, with flying colors, too.
Oh my gosh I'm a brand new subbie as of like this month. My heart DROPPED when I heard "...sister passed away" my true condolences to you and your family as you navigate this time. ❤
