This is a Japanese drama though. Why using the Korean word in the caption??? Why are these Kdrama fans stealing the spotlight using Chinese and Japanese dramas?? Shame on y'all !
Buddhism has two major types: 1. Mahayana Buddhism is common in East Asia, like China and Japan. 2. Theravada Buddhism spread to Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, etc. The point is that Buddhism is more like philosophy than a religion, and this drama is about a Mahayana Buddhist monk's life. So in Mahayana Buddhism, monks can get married, but in Theravada Buddhism, monks can't get married because Theravada Buddhists mostly follow monosatic lives and strive to become arhats and gain freedom from the cycle of samsara. They are more pure than Mahayana Buddhists, but on the other hand, Mahayana Buddhists may choose to stay in the cycle of samsara out of compassion for others so they can live a nomal life while doing prayers and medication BTW, this is such a good drama, and ML's chemistry is so cute🥺❤️
