Is there a lcd that doesn't need the glass so it's more flexible? Great video, BTW!
@Crystalfontz
@Crystalfontz 14 дней назад
Thank you! We're not aware of any that are transparent and flexible. LCDs in general always use glass for many reasons. The other options are OLED or ePaper, which we do have flexible versions of them, however they're not transparent. I'm curious what you'd like to see made with a flexible and transparent display?

Are there any good resources you can point me to so I can learn good ways to mount these into my projects? My current project will be a 1/8" powder coated steel sheet on the front, where I need the display. Oh - I'm mainly considering the I2C + SPI monochrome model.
@Crystalfontz
@Crystalfontz 9 месяцев назад
That's a great question, unfortunately it really depends on your design. For these specific displays, they can be "taped" using VHB to a PCB then use risers to space it from the steel sheet, and a piece of lexan to protect the glass. Here's a blog post that shows another method: www.crystalfontz.com/blog/dual-voltmeter-for-rv-electrical-systems/ I hope that helps.

Pins 6, 7 and 8of the display correspond to IM0, IM1, and IM2 respectively. These can be tied to 3.3V or GND in order to select different interfaces. As per page 5 of the displays datasheet (www.crystalfontz.com/products/document/4944/CFAF320480C7-035TNDatasheet.pdf), for 4 wire SPI, IM0, 1, and 2 must be tied high (3.3V) enabling the interface.
