loved watching this storm!!! Also nice how all the big strikes have been replaced so they are easier to find on the time bar. also, random question - has anyone ever commented that you have the same eyes as brie larson?
3:10 If lightning and thunder is almost simultaneously happening, It's less than 100 yards away!, It's definitely on top of you if it happens more than once
Beautiful storm!!! Love those bolts. There's no such thing as sheet lightning, the bolts were behind you and you were just seeing the illumination from them. Each of those pops were definitely bolts hitting the ground rather close to you, just most likely on the other side of your house. Great storm! ❤
A storm we had a couple weeks ago in SC was like that one. I bet you're enjoying the storms in Tampa now. Lol. That lake you talked about should help fuel storms. I didn't think Lake Greenwood was big enough to influence storm formation, but that storm we had proved otherwise. You could see storm after storm forming right over the water on radar. Unfortunately I couldn't stand outside like you did here. Apparently I put out a strong opposite charge, meaning lightning seems to be attracted to me. Been damn near struck numerous times.....close enough to feel the heat.
It’s louder because of the warm air and you can see the lighting cloud is staying in the cloud it is hitting the cold rain cloud and the shockwave is what you hearing loud because of the hot air 👍🏻 the rolling sound half way your video you can hear is that thunder cloud is moving away but more thunder clouds can still follow . oh stay away from trees high places open places and water which is raining outside and your stood near it 🤦🏻♀️ unplug everything indoors and chill
Just experienced having a storm like that over my home. I was in total awe and recorded some of it to send to my kids in Texas. The sound of the thunder recorded is nothing close to how it sounds overhead. A few so loud and unexpected they made me jump/scream in fright and go back inside. Just for a minute though and then I was drawn back out to my porch to watch and listen to more.
😀😀3:30, I was just thinking that people may not understand yours or others responses but when you're in it, it's in the air, you can feel the atmosphere is, electric! When I visited the Black Forrest in Germany my first night not long after arriving there was an almighty storm and it felt so, so much closer than I'm used to. With one enormous crack my right arm flew out in this weird spasm, I had zero control over it! So back home I googled whether the Black Forrest emerged either from a volcano or as high as the land was it had been hit by a meteorite because when you're there it feels like you're in a bowl,..it was very beautiful and I'd recommend if you've the chance to and visit plus I love pine tree's, apparently they're Canadian pine tree's, we had a couple of pine tree's around our land in the country in the UK, as the guy who built the house originated from Toronto....
If the thunder is really loud and quickly follows the lightning, it's close. You can easily find out how close the storm is by counting from after you see the flash until you see the thunder. 5 seconds = 1 mile away. If you're counting and you don't hear the thunder, chances are the thunder is too far away to be heard.
I really enjoyed your video with how casual you are. Just a note, you hear thunder, not lightning. Yes, it looks like sheet lighting and the ones that produce the really loud thunder are closer to you and are likely positive bolts that are a lot hotter so produce louder, more slamming thunder.
I get it buddy, but laughing at people because they make a mistake, doesn't look good on you!!! Show what's happening, but stop the name calling, and hateful crap!!! Doesn't help!
Last night I almost fell out of my bed in shock, there was an absolutely huge thunderstorm (I swear it was exactly like a hurricane) and in the middle of the night the scariest lighting strike hit with the loudest thunder I have ever heard. When he said “that was the loudest lighting I ever heard” all I could say is “the one I heard was about 10x louder” it woke up everyone in my house and my dog kept barking in fear, in the morning I woke up and so many trees fell down :< and the weather forecast is still saying that it wasn’t a hurricane
Cursing and using God’s name in vain Where have you been if you haven’t seen lightning like that. It’s a typical lightning storm! I think you were rambling. If you been through a hurricane this was a joke. 👎🏽
Just so you know, it's not lightning that you hear it's the thunder that roars through the clouds after the lightning strikes. Thunder is the result of super heated air expanding into the cooler air around it.
I always thought it was the after effect of that expansion, i.e. cold air rushing back to fill the vacuum caused by the expansion. Thanks for putting me right.
As the heated air expands after lightning in the form of thunder, the pressure drops, the air cools and it contracts quickly, The result is the loud booming burst of noise sent in every direction.
We Lived On A Farm While Back In N.J. We Had A Big Thunderstorm. Storm Ended So I Thought. I Was Heading Toward The Barn. All Of The Sudden Big Flash. Blinded Me And Boom! Sounded Like A Giant Board Cracking. Finally Open My Eyes. Hit The Tree In Front Of Me. Popped The Roots Out Of The Ground They Were Smoking. Also Split The Tree And Set It On Fire. It Was So Loud. I Couldn’t Hear For A Good Half Hour. That I Will Never Ever Forget.
