Athene is putting out a video every hour and it's filling my inbox, I like his videos but find I miss some of his videos that normally I would never miss out on seeing.
Subscriber loss? Wow, you almost lost a subscriber in real life on that one, Markee! I took a huge gulp of ice water at 0:55 and went to laugh out my nose at your "Oh, my!" three seconds later. Just as the back of my nose started to get cold from the water, my lungs reminded me I needed oxygen and a coughing fit ensued. Still hacking and wheezing as I type this, but I should be laughing pretty hard about it in a few minutes XD
While it is relatively easy to measure the number of people who unsubscribe because of something, its not so easy to measure the people who actually liked it or even feel more connected because of it. Even the likes wont really say much about it (I try to like videos I really enjoy, but it is very easy to forget) Im subscribed to so many people I dont use my subscription feed anymore. I have to go to the specific RU-vidrs channel to check for new videos, and I do that regularly with yours.
Playlists are the way to go. Each video can have an annotation to the next one, and you can put in video responses to the previous videos, but if you give the actual Playlist link to the first video, and people open that, RU-vid now puts all of the rest of the videos in that playlist down the right side of the video. **This is like super new** They just added that about 2 weeks ago. Check it out Markee! I did the same type of thing with my last Marathon, or spamming tons of short videos.
Hard thing is, if you missed the earlier episodes, nobody wants to go back and watch #1 if #15 is just published. Mostly because nobody has hours and hours each day to watch warZ gameplay, and then that's all they got spammed with was 30-45 min videos on something they don't quite understand.
You could make a menu video and have the ACTUAL content videos unlisted? Just a suggestion, or just add unlisted videos to a playlist and broadcast it. Not sure if that's something you're looking to do I didn't desub because you're boss level is like 9001, but eitherway. You win some, you lose some. Keep it up c:!
Some people are too touchy, requiring their red socks to not be touching their white socks, and counting the forks in their drawer, etc. My Gmail had one line, with all your updates in it. If people don't want to know why are they subscribed? They can simply choose the option to only show uploads on the home page.
Less, longer videos, and spread the content out over several days. No one is going to watch an entire marathon in one day.. People watch content I dribs and drabs.
I think your newer videos are of far lesser quality than your old ones. I subbed for the interviews of Gamer Developers at conventions, and interviews with Richard Garriot. You never have those anymore. These days it feels like you are spamming videos just to get a ton on RU-vid so you can make money. You also repeat yourself in a lot of your videos these days, rehashing "questions" that you've already answered in previous videos. In general I find the content is getting less engaging.
I think it's more just because it wasn't quality content, it was quite boring and no offense Markee but you're not a very entertaining personality when it comes to video game content. People don't watch for gameplay, they watch for the person who's playing. There are long pauses in your video where you're not saying anything and when you do say something it's not that entertaining. I understand gameplay videos are easy too make and pump out for more money, but I don't think it's for you.
