Took the words right out of my mouth with everything you've explained. The closest thing to criticize with the Dead Space remake is the actor for Dr. Kyne (basically the actor in Dead Space 2008 felt more gripping), but everything else is perfect. Especially the way they characterized Isaac Clarke in the remake as it was very delicate to make a character have personality & agency & very compelling without giving up the player connectivity that's with Isaac when he was merely a silent protagonist in Dead Space 2008. All the while, the way Dead Space remake revamped the story & lore allowed the first game's story to connect with Dead Space 2 a lot more. Literally everything in the Dead Space remake is an improvement over the OG & became one of the rare instances where the remake is better than the original & the definitive version to experience the game. Dead Space 2 is going to be a lot more challenging to remake than Dead Space 2008, but we'll see. As for Dead Space 3, however, it needs more than a remake, it needs to be completely redone LOL. Have you seen KevinHelpUs's videos on Dead Space? He made awesome videos covering Dead Space 2008, Dead Space 2, & (ESPECIALLY) Dead Space remake. Love all of them, especially his "Is Isaac Clarke the Villain of Dead Space 2?", "How Isaac Clarke's Voice Changes Dead Space" (in the remake), & "Kendra Was Right (in the Dead Space Remake)" I'm also glad you spoke out against the outrage over Isaac Clarke's face as his face model is literally Gunner Wright (seriously the Adam Sandler jokes are just insulting given how Isaac Clarke's face is literally Gunner Wright's, especially when his face model has always been based on Gunner since Dead Space 2 when they first casted him in the role). Though man, there are other ridiculous & stupid outrages that were over Dead Space remake like "Nicole looks old" when she's a senior medical officer in the same age group as Isaac, a mere playful response of Kendra to Isaac where Kendra says "I'd listen to my girlfriend", one of the graffitis saying "FUCK THIS SHIP, IT'S A SHITTY CAPITALIST ORGANIZATION" (when it's in Dead Space 2008 as well), & the most stupid one of all: a fucking bathroom sign that's labelled as "All Gender Bathrooms". You wouldn't believe at how there's been actual grifters & whatever shitty people actively trying to cry out "Dead Space has GONE WOKE" or "Dead Space remake is making women ugly" and a big contrived outrage out of the most insignificant things in a survival Lovecraftian horror about trying to survive through a space zombie infested planet mining ship. Seriously can't believe they exist... Also I don't know if you know this, but Motive's next project is an Iron Man game & given their work on Dead Space remake, especially the Zero G mechanics & the fact it's Motive's very first project thus leaving us a great first impression of Motive, the Iron Man game looks very promising and in good hands.
It’s honestly such a joke how far people will go to complain. I didn’t know that it was about more than just Isaac’s face, but I’m not at all surprised. I actually scoffed when I read that people found it to be an issue. If my 47 minutes of tangential praising isn’t enough, I’m so pleased with the way Motive handled this and can’t wait for what they have in store for the future. If they decide to take the reins and completely change the course of Dead Space 3 (which I think they should do), I’d be totally cool with it. Hell, maybe they’ll even go further and make a Dead Space 4. Who knows? Anyways, thanks for taking the time to comment. Glad this was worthwhile for you 🤙
I refunded it after release. I didn't like that if you were spotted/or didn't kill something quickly enough you was locked in an over-drawn animation in which you were killed. When this was removed during a patch. I got it again and played it and enjoyed it.
Firstly great video I thought this was very well made. Secondly personally for me I think the remake was very good and did a lot of things better than the original which completely surprised me as the original is incredible, but I wouldn’t call it perfect I have quite a few nitpicks that keep it from being perfect

This is one of the better channels I have found while endlessly surfing for videos to listen to and have nothing but praise for you but I also have a recommendation I think it would be great to see you cover the remastered bioshock collection it is a game I hold near and dear to me and I consider it as you put it a perfect game
This game did what RE4 Remake didn’t (in my opinion) Retain the classic elements, improve where needs to be improved, keep what works, and wrap the whole thing in a gorgeous, creepy, coat of paint. I adored the game, and I hope they: remake the rest, AND finally do a fourth one.
Phenomenal deep dive into this master class of a game. This not only made me realize how much I love Dead Space and this remake, but also just genuinely reignited my passions for games as a whole. Dead Space really is the shit. I can't wait to see more of these videos! One little detail that most people know about (but one that I personally love) is when Isaac goes into the vaccum of space frost accumulates on his armor. Once he enters a pressurized area again, it will remain briefly but slowly melts, making his suit wet. And what's even better is that if he's covered in blood, the new moisture will help wash it away. I would do this multiple times just to see this amazingly detailed effect. It's another example of, like you said, how passionately detailed this remake is.
GREAT catch, I actually forgot to put in that part about the frost and blood on his suit- just goes to show you just how passionately crafted this game is in each and every way. Really cool video! Been in a Dead Space mood and apparently other people as well (Vinesauce started streaming it, Chuck Beaver OG writer came out with a 2h discussion on Dead Space on CaptainBribo YT channel just today, and I just wanted to reinstall DSR) so I thought I'd search to see how many others are feeling the same... Excellent production, fun stuff, don't really have any complaints, will sub and look forward to what else you have in store. (As far as recommendations for other future potential perfect games? Uhhh, I have a ton I love, but I have a hard time thinking of a perfect one, like Half-Life 2 is a massive classic and I adore it, but I agree with many that its combat is nowhere near its contemporaries even around 2004, like combat was better in Doom 3, Halo 1-2, or even Far Cry to some degree though it failed in many other departments-- I think, maybe, Prey from 2006 was the perfect of that eras linear FPS games as I've been replaying it, building on Doom 3 & Half-Life 2 without feeling bloated, and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was kind of one of the perfect stealth-action-adventure type games of that era, maybe?)

You can't imagine how PISSED i am everytime i look for the TCP on RU-vid. It fills the page with biased dogwater reviews and videos trashing the game. I HATE IT. IF ONLY MORE PEOPLE WERE TALKING ABOUT IT! THEY DID SUCH A DISSERVICE TO THIS GAME, it deserved better 😢😢 can't even appreciate the things we love anymore, because of people. I hate people. I wish for a sequel... 😞
Great work. I completely agree and I think this game will have a similar fate to Days Gone when that launched. Great games that were review bombed because of performance. Granted, there’s no excuse for poor optimization but it’s sad to see people completely disregard the title because of it.
nice video, people will spread around your name if you kill friendly players, it takes around 10 mins of waving at people and getting shot until you have a lot of friendly people that will help you out and protect you. usually most of the server is kind if you wave and say hello. if you want to be friendly in pavz you die a lot. i have played on that server for about 20 hours now, it is fun grouping up with people and going on random exploration missions (oh and don't point your gun at people they don't like that)
bought DS remake before CP, i loved both games and can easily see the similarities between the two, as well as the differences. i walked away enjoying both experiences. interested to see where they take the story next with DLC and maybe a sequel.
Great video! I’m currently getting ready to release my game. And I got a lot of inspiration from dead space. I’ve kinda gotten some time to play now and have been considering Callisto for a while! It definitely looks beautiful but all the negative reviews were pushing me away from it. Definitely gonna try it out for myself tonight!
