What a absolutely beautiful house it could be brought back to its former glory . Such a shame it's to be pulled down . It would be nice to see it brought back & it could be a museum so that people could come : see what house's where like back then . I love going to look at old houses & castles . Was this built by the same architect as the limestone house at the corner of St. James Court in Louisville?? I've got to say, this video angered me a bit. How much might it have cost for tar paper or even blue tarps if the owners could not have afforded a roof????? How did anyone expect to move bins of water that weigh about 300 pounds each?? This is a sinful waste of art and history. Stupidity.
You did a great job with this Chris. Really such a sad thing for a house like that to be demolished. This very week I am buying a house that was built in 1906 to finish renovating. Hopefully it won't bankrupt me in the process. Not quite the mansion this one is through. I kept thinking how I would have loved to have gotten some of the mantles and the fireplace covers, but even though it was being torn down, it would have felt sacrilegious somehow. Dishonoring the house as well as myself. Thanks for showing us this and preserving the memory.
Just on a side and hoping for info, does anyone know the name of the mansion that was used in Danville Kentucky as the filming location for Disney's Child of glass?Also agree these old properties are history and should be preserved wherever possible 👍😊
That's terrible to tear this beautiful home . Now the eyesore of storage units Sacrilege the architecture the beauty of these magnificent places must be saved My heart breaks. Please at least save everything inside doors fireplaces railings transits floors even the column😪😪🤧
I would love to know more about the area I live in. North Mercer County, KY in the Talmage-Mayo , Terrapin , McAfee, Salvisa area. I have been told of civil war hospitals , soldier trails , Indian mounds , caves and all sorts of other things that transpired long ago.
That was really well done man. You have a nice speaking voice, good commentary and compelling music. I really liked when you focused on small details of construction like the plaster, T&G floor boards, dowels in the door frame etc. It was like watching a really good Indie short film. Thanks
