We lost power too for a good portion of Wednesday… one of those tornadoes hit across the street from our house 😵💫. Thank God we are safe and unharmed! ❤
@@growwithchelle7963 yes! I think we live fairly close because that’s the Cheesecake Factory closest to us! I recognized the plaza on the video. Glad you’re safe! A lot of my family is in Tampa Bay and they have done damage but thank God they are all safe!
Your room is so colorful and cute and a great testimony to working with a difficult long narrow room and limited resources! Give yourself grace on rearranging to suit the needs and refining your organization and systems. The whole first five years of teaching are learning curves as you keep refining what works for you!
Awwwww you're seriously such an inspiration. I'm sorry you had a bad week, a lot of new and different things are happening at once so normal to feel that way! You're amazing!!
Anyone who has kids and works full time knows the same struggles. You have to decide what has highest priority and let the rest go because there aren't enough hours in the day to do it all. Don't compare yourself to the slick magazine pictures of perfection because no one in real life is like that on a daily basis. Every family has different needs and what means the most to them. So look to the needs of your family and let the rest go. Being frazzled all the time is just not worth it and will destroy your health. See if you can listen to scripture and teaching tapes while driving and doing chores. It helps.
@@bettywatts175I’m trying to learn that and it’s so hard for me. Trying not to over work myself but yet still doing what I need to do. I just feel a hot mess everyday and can never seem to catch up.
Wow! I never heard of that restaurant, but so glad I asked. It's pretty close to the area where I live!! I'll have to try them out one day! Anyway, wishing you well. Remember to take it one day at a time. This too shall pass!!
Congratulations! You have survived the first few weeks of the highest learning curve. So many things will be easier your second year compared to the first year. Glad you are enjoying your teaching. I will look forward to your updates.
@@bettywatts175 Thank you Betty! ❤️A part of me is saying I can’t wait until the next year and the other part of me is saying enjoy it cause you might look back and miss this year
Chelle, Will you be teaching science? If so, check your curriculum and see if you will be needing a balance scale with buckets, classroom sets of safety goggles, pippettes, magnet wands, and magnifying glasses. Also are there things you will need for math like 10 frame sets? Usually there is so much focus on learning to read/ELA that other things are forgotten that are basics. Science is very hard to teach without the equipment needed. Thanks for checking.
not Chelle, obviously lol but I teach the same class as her and I use all those things. Not just science but math and art use some of them too like the pipette. And btw tysm for being an absolute blessing to another teacher who needs it
@@rosebrown7002 Thank you for sharing your experience and appreciation. There is no other job where you are expected to provide your own tools and supplies! It is a pet peeve of mine that these are not provided to teachers and that education is not a top priority in tax dollars. (off my soap box now)
Hi Chelle, I just wanted to say that you did an awesome job decorating your kindergarten classroom. I am so proud of you! You took an odd shaped classroom that almost seemed impossible to deal with and transformed it into a beautiful and exciting space for kids to learn. Good Job!! 🥰🥰
The new borders add lots of color and look cute. Would you like to choose another toy box since you are not using the confetti theme? Maybe something more sturdy/long lasting? Your room is looking great!
@@bettywatts175 thank you! I didn’t realize the reviews weren’t that great. I guess I just have to go to Michael’s because Amazon doesn’t have what I’m looking for
@@growwithchelle7963 Anything made of cardboard will do well to last out the year. Definitely look for wood and if necessary paint or decorate yourself. Michaels used to carry a treasure box in the unfinished wood items.
@@bettywatts175 yes I saw that one but my co-workers have some nice ones and they said they were from Michael’s so I’m going to take a look when I have a chance
Hi Chelle! I plan to send you some more things from your wishlist, but I have a few questions. Since you have Confetti theme borders, would you like some confetti themed signs of "Read" and "Welcome" to add to your decor? Also, to aid the use of your white boards, would you like some magnetic clips and magnetic hooks (to hang grommet topped items) ? Do you have room for the bean bag chair?
@@bettywatts175 hey Betty!! No thank you on the theme sign because I’ve changed all of the boarders🤦🏿♀️ . I just removed the bean bags, I don’t want the class to get crowded. Thank you for asking ❤️
@@sakinabivins9415 I come from a family with lots of teachers including our daughter. I know how much the classroom function and visuals matter to teachers. So I especially try to help first year teachers getting set up.
Hello , thank you for giving insight into your classroom . That’s the thing about being in education , we get thrown with things & expected to make it work . Of course , as a teacher , we make it work because we are true super heroes !! I hope you have an amazing year from one kindergarten teacher to another . I can’t wait to see more videos 😊
Hey girl! I could be wrong, but by the looks and color of your classroom, I used to work for the same company. I embroidered 2 cardigans and left them at the school for the week, that way I was in uniform while wearing what I wanted with it. Also, I’m pretty sure your room was originally meant to be office space, sorry!
You’re gonna rock your first year. Don’t be afraid to go against the grain. You don’t always have to do it the way your lesson plan says to!! Good Bless!!!
I thought your hair was weave at first!!! Very beautiful and neat twists. I can't wait until my hair is a little longer so I can rock me some mini twists 😍
