Got a suggestion/wish for a soundtrack? Let me know!
Wow, I've had this as my morning alarm for like 3 or 4 years, and hearing it now while listening to the OST it feels like it's not even from Cave Story anymore! I don't know how to feel about that...
This final race was so intense! I had lost one in the grand prix and this was the final shot for team pacman. I was sweating when I was done with it. What a great game and song.

I know this comment is late, but after years of waiting and finally being able to play the game, I can safely say this is without a doubt, the best racing game I've ever played, and the best racing game soundtrack I've ever heard.
This feels like something that'd be in the Persona 3 soundtrack. Not a racing game. This is on the level of Eurobeat when it comes to racing music that'd get to killed in a car crash or pulled over for speeding.
This entire song is a timeless masterpiece. Outside of a few single-player adventure games, R4 was probably the game I clocked the most hours in as a kid, mainly for the music. It was this OST, the OST for “Motoracer 2” & “Kensei: Sacred Fist” that probably had the most impact on my musical life growing up. Every year I think of producing my own re-imagined versions of my favorite PS1 OSTs but it seems like other projects demanded my time. Hopefully in the coming year, I’ll get started on this. +1 if you’ve checked my work out and are curious as to how I can re-produce some of these gems in a club-format (& duration ofcourse). Only novelty here, for anyone that appreciates originality 🙏🏻 PS. - This song will definitely be the first sub-project I fire up as it’s one of my top/favorite tracks in the OST album.
I don't know what it is about this remaster, it gets good around 0:25, but before that it has like... no impact? The original had these really harsh and raspy 8bit sounds that really made you feel like you just stepped straight into hell, especially the first 5 sounds on the original song, they give me goosebumps, but not here...
