Stupid leadership puts American Soldiers at risk. Yes, we signed up and expect combat, but electing to put a small unit out in a fish bowl is ridiculous.
The great VOID many NDE experiencers recall seeing is their unconscious mind.Their feeling of a deep inner peace reflects a disconnect from the egos mental machinations.Indeed if you can't dive deeply enough into the unconscious mind nightly in this samadhi state your mental health suffers.
The stupidest tactics possible. If you bomb the damn castle, why sending groundpounders there to start with? Get shot for no reason. No wonder you lost, knuckleheads. And they seem proud of it.
So I was in the 75th regiment C company 3rd battalion out of team b. I was in country when this happened. For weeks we heard of this place but none of believed it existed bc it made no sense at all. We knew nobody would put a base on the low ground in the valley that’s not what America does. But when we seen pictures and videos we all knew they were all gonna die. And 7.5 months later it happened and guess what the army did they blamed a dead guy for it. Still till today nobody has ever been fired or locked up for this bullshit and the fact these men only got a bullshit bronze star and a bullshit Purple Heart really pisses me off
Fvkn government set you up! Much respect, much regret. Fvk ROE! The people that set you up, either never read Sun Tzu, or had no respect for your lives.
Very interesting story, and very brave men indeed. My question is, if they know you're there already because of the Helos... why not suppress the top of the mountain with munitions? The tactics used by SpecOps sometimes bewilder me. If you're not there to obliterate the enemy and win entirely then you should not be there. This sums up Iraq and Afghanistan in which we are not Nationbuilders.
To think the military brass wouldn't make the same kind of mistakes as the battle of Wanat, they go and do it again. It doesn't surprise me in the least, as I've seen this take place multiple times in the civilian world as office personnel make dumb decisions for their employees. The difference is that military actions have dire consequences.
You men are the reason no one will ever have the balls to invade the US. I'm so proud you men are there to protect me and my family if I can't. Thank you so very much
General Sherman is credited with saying, "War Is Hell". I believe these soldiers know the true meaning of that now. Thank you ALL for your service and sacrifice. God be with you all.
All they probably each had about 60 single rounds in a bag and about 3 mags an AK high on adrenaline, hash or opium dieing to them is "paradise" kinda hard if you think About it..... it was an ambush
I remember the first time I watched a documentary on this base and I still can’t wrap my mind around why any military leadership would place a base on a big ass bowl like that with 4 sides of high ground surrounding your position at all times. Makes no sense other than if they did it on purpose knowing they would draw contact more than normal since they seemed to be in a more vulnerable spot than most based.
Again another op that to me the guys behind the desk didnt listen or give the guys on the field the best options for them to suceed, you guys nees to start to flip the finger to the idiots behind the desk and tell them to go there instead of you guys how many guys did lost their brothers for bad planing of some idiot high rank seeking for own medals?,prob without ever had his foot on the ground. I have all respect for the warriors on the field. But many high ranks i dont. You guys should start to learn from lessons of the past and you guys have so many, better then loose 1 life and all those lifes wasted for what? At the end of the day they are all fighting for each others.
Jake Tapper wrote the book about this "The Outpost". Very easy to read. From what I recall in the book, the base was there to open a road for re-supply, then the road route was closed due to danger and resup was only by helo (at night!). Closure was delayed so elections would take place.
