This is my first time seeing this. When I saw the location of that base? I was questioning the ignorance of whoever put those guys there. Unreal.

General Sherman is credited with saying, "War Is Hell". I believe these soldiers know the true meaning of that now. Thank you ALL for your service and sacrifice. God be with you all.

I remember the first time I watched a documentary on this base and I still can’t wrap my mind around why any military leadership would place a base on a big ass bowl like that with 4 sides of high ground surrounding your position at all times. Makes no sense other than if they did it on purpose knowing they would draw contact more than normal since they seemed to be in a more vulnerable spot than most based.

That was Hairy. Damn intense. God rest those that had lost their lives.

To think the military brass wouldn't make the same kind of mistakes as the battle of Wanat, they go and do it again. It doesn't surprise me in the least, as I've seen this take place multiple times in the civilian world as office personnel make dumb decisions for their employees. The difference is that military actions have dire consequences.

I can watch that movie everyday, and after hearing the story tokd from so many different people it seems like its one of those most accurate movies out there. The brotherhood of those guys is a beautiful thing. And Romesha with some of the most gangsta shit ever, "Lets take this bitch back!", then goes and does it!

Whoever was in charge of selecting that location should've been court martialed.
