My name is Marlene. I'm 65 years young and a retired school teacher. For those of you that are new, this is my second RU-vid Channel. My other channel, Fab and Glam Over 50, is my main channel and is dedicated to Beauty: Makeup, Skincare, and some Lifestyle.
Within the last couple of years, I have discovered and fallen in love with wigs. Since my discovery, I have not seen one single bad hair day! I absolutely love my wigs! I'm also a firm believer that we should all follow our passion whatever it may be. Wigs are my new passion!
This channel is for those of you that love wigs. Wigs are worn for many reasons: medical, hair loss, or for the fun of it. Whatever your reason, I hope you enjoy my channel. I will do my best to share many wigs as well as have wig chats. If there is a topic you're interested in or have questions about, please let me know.

Hi Marlene! I am a wig newbie still looking for the perfect wig for my first, but I have been reading about & researching everything there is to know about them, joining Facebook groups and getting advice from the people in them, and especially watching a TON of RU-vid videos! I have always been a very light, ashy/platinum blonde and a creamy, "toe-head" blonde as a little girl, but I have always been curious to know what I would look like as a brunette like my sister and that is what I have found to be one of the many benefits that wigs can offer! So, on my journey, I wanted to also include a brunette, but I have zero clue on what shade of one I would like so, I am very happy and VERY thankful that you put together, as always, another AMAZING video that compares ALL of these new brunettes side by side and even more awesome, from darkest to lightest [with OUTDOOR pictures, as always] so that I/we don't have to watch all separate videos for each shade and then try and remember what the last color looked like!! 😊 I am SO thankful for your channel!! 🥰♥ Stacie in the Youngstown, Ohio area 💕

Peppermint in the hand tied version has become my ride or die. I love it so much more than the regular cap version. It feels longer to me too for some reason. Love the video M! I was surprised you liked more of the chin length wavy styles.
I don’t have that many, but the one I am going to repurchase is Simmer Elite. Love her! I hope one day they make Wavy Day in an Elite cap. She was my first and love her too. Hi Jennifer! I love Cafe Chic as well. If they ever discontinue this style, take a look at Santa Monica from the BT City Collection, Lia II from Ellen Wille or Ellis by Estetica. These styles are very close although none are available in BMT. Let's hope it's not discontinued. xoxo Marlene
Hi Cathy, I understand. Perhaps get a color or two you think you might like, look at the return policy, and return whatever you don't like. If it's your first wig, try to keep the color and style as close to your own as you can. Some retailers don't charge restocking fees, some give a week to return while others give 30 days. Don't remove the tag, shake, cut, comb out the zig zag part if it has one, in order to return whatever you don't like. Try on for color, length, and fit (you can move the adjusters); if those three boxes check for you, then you can style. If not, put it back in the box and initiate the return. xoxo Marlene
I watch your videos so often Marlene and I think you are so wonderful 🩷 such a beautiful lady and so very helpful.You have educated me so much so I thank you for that 🩷 I really wish I discovered you when I was new to wigs about 9 months ago because I had NO idea what would fit/suit me/look good and I waisted a lot of money 😑 I have a 22.3 circumference and also have a low hair line like you,im ash brown with a few Grey's.I also have about the same ear to ear length as you so it's a struggle to find wigs that come down to my ears 🤦🏼 Bell tress fit good but as you mentioned they are discontinuing so many now 🙄 I do LOVE the new city collection but here in Australia they start at $570 😯 I would love a Santa Monica and Calabasas but being a single mum I can't afford it, plus i dont own a credit card.I wish I were able to have a few wigs so I don't have to wear the SAME one daily.I have one left Cafe chic which I love but it's looking horrible and it's very embarrassing I suffer from anxiety and really bad depression so that doesn't help 😑 what's worse is I recently brought the beautiful Califia I wanted Brown sugar or rootbeer float or something similar but the place I got it from only had Tres leches left and I thought it would suit me..I was so excited for it to arrive and when it did as soon as I put it on I quickly realised it's too platinum for me and washes me out but what's worse even though I never brushed it,left the zigzag part and carefully put it back in the box as it came I was told by them they don't do refunds or even exchanges 😢 I have been very upset because I payed $419 for it 😔 I'm going to sell it on eBay but will be loosing a lot of money.I think it's awful they don't do returns or exchanges because as you know there are many people who have no idea what brand/colour/style will suit them so its not fair 😔 Chiquel are great with returns so I wish I brought from them.Anyway I'm so sorry for carrying on I feel really silly 🤦🏼 I do love peppermint but I know longer ones are harder to take care of (i had the beautiful Kushikamara but i didn't know that longer ones need more care and also stupidly didnt know about not letting them rub against things like a couch or whatever so it look awful fast 😕 (i know i spelt the name so wrong 😬) Would Peppermint be easier to take care of? Obviously with proper care and all that.I have also been wanting RW's On point I think it's beautiful also Current events 😍 I have heard RW wigs are a little harder to take care of (tangle easier etc) is this correct? I was going to order Esprit but I'm not sure it will fit.Also do you think Forever chic or unspoken by Gabor would fit ok? (I do prefer colours that aren't too dark but I guess I will have to get a darker one to cover hairline as I have noticed the rooting (I do prefer rooted wigs) on some aren't dark enough to cover my bio hair) i prefer HD but do normal synthetics last better? I actually ordered the lovely 'Sage' in sunset blonde rooted but once again it didn't suit me 🤦🏼 I was able to send that back.I had watched many reviews on it and it looked beautiful on everyone so I really thought I would love it on me.I also would love Anatolia but they have discontinued that here.Anyway here Iam rambling away again 🤦🏼😊 I'm sorry about that

I must have purchased 50 wigs in the pandemic years. All went to charity except one. Summer Heat. It probably cost $79. It is still gorgeous. However, I have recently purchased Modena. You did a great review on her, and I have her in Oyster. I don’t plan on restocking wigs, but I watch all the reviews. Thinking seriously about Tiffany by Belletress. So…maybe one or two more……😊

Agree regarding Jones. I couldn't hack mine due to permatease-related itching and overall lack of comfort, which was sad because I loved the style. I'd buy it again in a second with a mono top. May try Ellis - so cute.
Hi, what you're seeing is probably the return hair (permatease). Even if the style is non-heat friendly, try applying some steam to redirect the fibers (you can use a garment steamer). xoxo Marlene

My favorite is Hudson. Wish it came in more (rooted) colors. I had to stop wearing Hudson because I really do not like the RT4 root. Way too dark and unnatural looking on me (and many others).
