Wow❤️🔥 during the holidays our family of 4 (me & my wife in our 60's, adult daughter and son) had a discussion on 'shame.' We discussed how we as parents both grew up in homes that were shame filled, but we wanted to give them better. Yet, they now carry 'it' regardless of how hard we all try and tried to beat it, each of us still carries loads of it. We agreed there is no shame to openly talk about it. It was so freeing as 'Old Ways' speaks. Hearing the background was validating. A day before first hearing this song I journaled “He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:8 NLT Showers are needed often to clean us and wash us. Here though I feel Jesus clean and then make me feel Joy because of His kindness. And as a bonus He throws in wisdom and understanding to tell us why our humanness feels and does what it does. It allows us to get up on the right side of the bed and walk in victory when feeling His grace and kindness, and makes it better when we don't to shake off old ways, especially shame thinking.
