A suggestion. When searching for items, edit that process out of the video. The actual work you do after you get what you want to use is interesting. Looking at a sped up video of things being taken from and then replaced into a box is not interesting. Also, for myself, when I do a collage in this manner, if I come across a prompt that makes no sense in partnership with other prompts, I replace it with a new one. I want to make something I like, not something that defies logic. These collage games like this are helpful in getting us to think about what we choose to include and the manner by which we relate one prompt to another. But, if a prompt is so far out of line with the others, I don't think the world will end if we substitute something else in order to make a collage that is pleasing to the eye rather than something that is merely absurd looking. By the way, I did a couple of collages using Ceri's approach and they were a lot of fun to do!! Best of luck with your project!!
Hi, new subbie here. I am so glad I found your channel. I love your collage book and I love surreal, that is what I enjoy doing the most. Those prompts were not easy, but you aced it, can't wait to see more. Tfs xo
Thank you so much for this tutorial, i have followed from start to finish . I am so pleased I found your channel. This was so informative ,I feel with your helpI will be able to make something like yours. I have put off even trying to do a ring binder journal ... until now once again thank you
Thanks, Colleen! I’m so glad you’re making a ring binder journal. They are my favorite because I’m usually changing my mind where I want the pages, or I’m wanting to add pages here and there.
Another very tough challenge, but you came up trumps again. I really like the result from this one. The girl is beautiful, and yes, it does rain a lot in England, especially in the north west where I live.
Hi, Marion. Thanks. I’ve visited south, middle, and NE England, but never made it to the NW. Rain is good for the garden. Here, in NW Nevada 9” a year is considered a wet year.
I enjoyed that little look see. I love places like this, because it’s exciting that you don’t know what you may find. I didn’t spot anything that I might have bought, but I did recognise the William Morris wallpaper…..strawberry thief design. You found some good items.
I so enjoy watching this series that you’re doing. I was completely stumped when I saw the prompts that you drew out of the box. It was fascinating watching you actually come up with something. Like you say, it doesn’t make any sense, but the little dog is so charming, that placed in any collage will make the result a success. Well done! I love how the background turned out.
Thanks! Ha ha. I was hoping to catch squirrels and bunnies in the act. Or maybe some night creatures. But it’s kinda fun to see myself in my gardening garb going about my chores.
Your painting turned out so beautiful. I used to paint on china and porcelain which I thoroughly enjoyed, but when I tried watercolour I was absolutely rubbish at it.
Hi Marion. I did some china painting too, years ago. It’s a different technique than watercolor, for sure. I was scared of W/C and took oil, acrylic and other classes. But W/C still drew me in so I took classes from different teachers and kept practicing. I even did full sheet w/c! The last several years I’ve been doing watercolor journals. Good to see you again!
I agree, w/c is completely different to painting on china. I enjoyed the precision of china painting and found that I couldn’t control w/c. It’s interesting that you’ve done china painting though. I don’t paint at all, and I’ve taken a completely different direction. I now sew and crochet.
Hi, Chris! You made me laugh out loud. The easiest thing in collage is "abstract". You put a lovely little dressed-up girl dancing on the top of a castle tower. 🤣🤣🤣 I think that`s abstract (non-realistic) enough. Don`t you agree? A very positive collage. I love it.❤ I think it belongs in a frame. Thank you for the inspiration!🙏 I`m sure Ceri will love it too after he returns from his holiday. Greetings 🌞from Slovenia, Josie
Thanks, Josie! I hadn’t thought of abstract as non-realistic subjects. I thought of it as non-realistic shapes. But you’re right. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hmm, my "like" hasn't registered yet? Love National Geographic. Never thought the car ads worked inside, though. Still watching, will comment again after. You're just 467 subscribers away from monetization!!! 👍
