Andy McKee is among the world’s finest acoustic guitarists. He entertains both the eye and the ear as he magically transforms the steel string guitar into a full orchestra via his use of altered tunings, tapping, partial capos, percussive hits and a signature two-handed technique. McKee’s crossover success has helped him to achieve millions upon millions of RU-vid viewers, underscoring his emergence as one of today’s most unique and influential artists. His song, “Drifting” became one of the first RU-vid viral videos with almost 60 million views. McKee has been featured as a cover story in both Acoustic Guitar Magazine in the United States and the United Kingdom. He is the figurehead of the unique Guitar Masters tours, and he also curates his own annual guitar camp called Musicarium. McKee’s touring has taken him through Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, including tours with legendary acts including Prince, Dream Theater, and Tommy Emmanuel.
Everything tripliciti has produced has been an absolute banger with the new arrangements. This may be my new favorite. Love the collaboration and look forward to continued music coming from this amazing group of GOATs.
I absolutely love the red, blue, and yellow ties - perfect. Such an uplifting song; the chords and the melodies that come in feel so deliberate and hopeful.. a really feel-good song for me. Thank you for sharing Andy, I recently heard you play a song in Nashville, after which you said something like, “that’s just a little funky tune I’ve been working on”.. definitely something more on the bluesy/funky/pentatonic-ish side of things, I was obsessed. It goes hard, for me anyway. Can’t wait for its (hopefully eventual) release. It got a name yet? Totally get it if you don’t wanna release info prematurely - that song got me good though 😂
Andy's rhythm part is more complicated and harder to play than any of the other guy's leads :D And it definitely makes the song for me. Still, of course, awesome playing by anybody and awesome song! <3
By the way there’s another guitarist out there named Andy McKee who does filk music, sort of Irish folk tunes. I saw “Andy McKee playing live” on a comic convention schedule and went only to find out it was not you. I was pretty disappointed but maybe some day you can play at DragonCon in Atlanta and the two guitar playing Andy McKees can meet 😂
Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. I love playing this with Trevor and Calum, I feel like this is really how the tune was supposed to sound all along...
Wonderful... of course. As usual, I can't see the screen for the tears. P.S. Trevor, looking forward to seeing you again at 20 Front Street next month, and finally meeting Antoine Dufour!
