Ive had these in white on my 8th gen SI for years and my mom drove it and ended up curbing them a little while back, Ive been wanting to get them fixed up. Is there any special way I should go about this? How much am I looking to spend?
Amazing review! I actually have these wheels for my 2018 WRX Ltd. I'm about to get the powder coated because the paint job they came with was a little lacking as getting them in white, they got a LOT of chips from daily driving. I'm curious, what are some of the more affordable options with a similar look (clone if you will) just for some throw on wheels for practice, winter, tracking etc that you'd recommend?
Hey I really don't like the fact that you said if you don't care about the ride and you just want to lower your car the GO WITH THE BR.... Paying $1200 for a set of BC BR coilovers in my opinion is not cheap at all. And I've left a few emails asking that if I purchased the BR series for my 07 Lexus SC430 would I be happy having them as a daily setup, so maybe I'm thinking I should be looking for another brand because this just told me I might as well buy Megan Coilovers since they're the next coilover that I was considering... Inform me if I misunderstood you!
Sorry for the miscommunication. That was Alex explaining if someone needs the Swift spring upgrade. He is explaining if the ride enhancement from the swift springs doesn't matter to you, and you're just slamming the car, you will be fine with the BR series. That doesn't mean that they ride bad, he's just explaining that you don't need to upgrade in that instance. Gels daily drives his BC BR series and has for years.
I have these on my EVO X, with he EDFC5 controller. Make sure the preload is spot on. I did a 1 inch drop, then corner weighted myself with scales. Dialed a modest -2.5 camber up front, -1.5 camber in the rear, and zero toe all around. This thing handles like a beast. My only demerit is that the rebound damping is a little lacking on rough roads, I wouldn't call it bobble head, but it bobbles more than stock. Definitely handles better than stock. For the price cannot be beat.
So it is only for their Unlimited line of like 3 basic wheels. Itd be better if they had a true bolt pattern adapter system to convert 5x120 to 5x114.3 or something
*Alex: Came here from your site. Kudos to you for your clean, well-structured and information-rich layout. Every question is addressed except specific wheel mass. No worries, other places exist with data. Cheers!*
