I was hoping that he would have asked the two female panelists to walk over a portable device he brought with him.

Star Trek's premiere came out in 1969 and was waaaaaay more believable and better footage than the grainy black and white 1920's NASA footage.

Jeez, big surprise. One's shot in a studio by professional photographers on 35 mm film in color with carefully prepared lighting and perfect conditions. The other is shot on a slow scan 10 fps black & white camera then converted to NTSC standards with a one generation loss of picture quality, and then stuck out on a tripod and left to just shoot whatever was in front of it, in the middle of what could be called, at the very least, a wilderness. And newsreel footage taken in battle conditions on a beach look just as clear and bright as footage shot for a Hollywood movie, right? Besides, even though I'm not a Star Trek fan, I believe it premiered before 1969.

Do we have anything like this today, in education OR entertainment, that encourages the exercise of critical thought, examination, deduction, i.e. science? Why is the lessons of the past so easily forgotten? It's not that I think people in the past were smarter, it's that I think people of the current are less willing to admit that they aren't smarter, either. I hate how being human is so complicated...

Am I correct in assuming what a skirt blowing machine's purpose was? To try to get a gander as to what was underneath? Kinda nuts!
@RRaquello
@RRaquello 5 дней назад
If you see it in old movies, it wasn't an individual "ride" by itself. It was part of the "Fun House" where, as you went through, all kinds of little jokes were played on you, like moving floors and mirrors that you'd walk into. In the old days, ladies used to wear all kinds of undergarments, so when the skirt flew up, you weren't seeing much. It was more to get a laugh at the surprise of the person suddenly getting a blast of wind. The mistake people make is they think what is now always used to be. People dressed different 75 years ago. Take a look at an old picture and see that everyone is wearing a hat, and not baseball caps. You were considered undressed if you went out of the house without a hat on. Things have changed.
