Thanks, Raymond. I am very attracted to walking from the South to Compostela. One of my ancestors came to South America from Cáceres, and I would like to see how he walked from his town to Sevilla, the port was to go to America.
Thank you. Great video. I'm going on this trip on August 28 this year. I am looking forward to the start. This will be my fifth camino, but if I need help I might contact you with my questions...
Ray I note you walked the Petrola stage, but took your accommodation that night in Chinchilla de Monte-Aragon. I take it Petrola did not have an albergue?
Hi I stayed at Chinchilla for that night as the albergue at Petrola was closed. The owner of the local Bar offered me a lift with his car to Chinchilla and I returned to Petrola the next morning by taxi. I stayed at Hostal El Volante at 25€ for a single room.
Raymond...thank you for putting this video together. I'm just starting planning for the del Sureste ('25) after the CP next year. You definitely provided a good insight into this walk, and I'm very appreciative of your efforts. Thank you!
Hi walkingthrulife, Thank you for watching my video. I am glad you enjoyed it and found it useful. The Sureste is a beautiful Camino with wonderful villages and cities. I am sure you will enjoy every minute. Buen Camino
Raymond...thank you for this video, and highlighting the path from Valencia! Some quite incredible daily distances covered. Any 40 plus kilometre day is a huge effort! My wife and I watched, a number of times, your Via de la Plata video - which was one of the inspirations for our Via Augusta, VdlP and Camino to Muxia and Finisterra this past April/June. In fact, we arrived in Santiago on 4 June...so we actually just missed you!! I certainly look forward to your next journey!! Thank you again.
Thank you for watching my videos. This year's camino was my longest and therefore the video had to be long. However I feel very happy to share my experiences with others through my videos. Pity we missed eachother at Santiago. Meanwhile I wish you all the best in your caminos. TC Ray
I am glad you watched my video. I cherish every moment of this camino and dedearly keep the memory of the people I met on yhe way. You are most probably one of the pilgrims I met at the albergue. Could you add me on FB. Thanks and take care.❤
Hi Raymond, thanks a lot for your video!! really helpful to me because I am preparing also "El Camino" but starting in Toledo, my home city. I´ve seen in your video that you have "La guía del peregrino", where did you found it? Seems to be a good support in order to plan the way...
Hi ildefonso ..thank you for your message and that you liked my video. Sorry for not answering before. I obtainewd the guia from the amigos del Camino of Alicante. They are very helpful. I wrote to Federico via peregrinos@encaminodesdealicante.org . He guided me how to tranfer the payment vioa IBAN no. and he posted it to me. I hope this helps. Buen Camino
Thank you for sharing your adventure! Clearly a busy last few months of ‘19 covering two significant Camino walks. I certainly look forward to videos of your future pilgrimages 👍
Thank you for your message and I am glad you liked my experience of this Camino....Pity I had to miss 2020 Camino hoping for another one later this year.
Hi Kevin, I am glad youi enjoyed iot ...unfortunately I am missing this year's adventure which was meanth to be the Camino del Norte ...Covid 19 changed all my plans !!!
Yes COVID changed the plans of so many. My wife & I were due to walk our first Camino (Frances) in April/May. My day counter got down to 24 days before I had to cancel. Nevertheless, planning on the Via for late Spring ‘22....hence my keen interest in your walk/video.
Fico feliz que você tenha gostado e bem feito pelos seus caminos. Eu andei pelos franceses e portugueses também. Pós covid 19 ansioso para o Norte e Inglês
Thank you for sharing your great video. My wife and I took 35 days to walk the 800km from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago last April/May and we thought we did well, but your 1,000km in 32 days is very impressive. That is really good going. My wife is going to take a rest this year (we also walked the Pennine Way last August/September and that just about finished her off!), but I would like to do another Camino. I am undecided whether to do the Frances Way again, or the Del Norte or the Via de la Plata. I believe there is a good supply of accommodation on the Del Norte, but I am not so sure about the Via de la Plata. Did you find accommodation easy to find and did you need to carry a sleeping bag? Enjoy whatever adventure you decide on this year. I will keep an eye out for another video :-).
Thank you for your encoursging feedback. I wish to do the del Norte and also walk again the Frances. This year I am choosing to walk the voa Augusta from Cadiz and then the Primitivo and the Engles..this will be in October....you will hear about them...buen Camino Ray
There is no definite rule how many days you take for a camino...I hope you enjoyed the Pennine way ....I was preparing to walk the Mozarabe that time ...Thanks for your comment!!
