daboll would be working for an assistant for another team if jones didnt lead the team to the playoffs two years ago pressure is on with belichick waiting to maybe get back next year lets see how this is all goes go big blue
Nabers has to make the best of working with Jones? A rookie? Are you serious with this comment? Totally insulting and unnecessary. The way the media treats Jones is ridiculous
Leonard belongs in HOF along with other greats on that 1986 Defense LT and Carson. In fact, Banks should be in the HOF as well. How could one of the best defenses in NFL history have only 2 HOF players. That is BS!
Question: was Adoree Jacdson really that bad last season? Reason I ask is because he is still a free-agent. The Giants can still use more help at CB, so signing him to a team friendly, or league minimum deal, could be a help at this position. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
I don’t understand this Giants fan base. So if Nabers doesn’t like our bad QBs the team drafted or signed or the bad uniforms the team put together, then he’s somehow reminiscent of Odell?? Come on man smh
Ed, was DJ's ACL tear a partial or total tear? Reason I ask is how well his recovery is going. Not wearing a brace is a pleasant surprise. If it was a partial tear, that could be why his recovery is going so well. Thanks.
DJ fans need to pay attention to this indecisive coach, he knows our weakest link is the offensive line and yes it’s OTA’s but you want to see your guys gel and gel early, waiting till minicamp is stupidity, play musical chairs with your backups. He’s going to get DJ killed.
Great podcast Ed. It was fantastic hearing from Leonard and all that he is involved with his health and giving back to others. You asked all the right questions to get really informative answers. Thanks. 😎
Leonard, you are still one of my favorite players. Your hit on Joe Montana ended his career in San Francisco, helped the Giants win the NFC Championship and get the team into Super Bowl XXV. I still have the game on video cassette and watching you on this broadcast has me wanting to watch the game again - I think I will too. Thanks for the memories!
A great underrated defensive end Played alongside Lawrence Taylor With Carl Banks on the other side Harry Carson in the middle Gary Reasons making tackles Solid great professional New York Football Giants!
They need an elite slot corner to replace Flott who will move to the boundary(where he will excel) Giants DBs will perform just as good as the front seven
People always omit AT's absence when talking about DJs lackluster season and why Tyrod and Tommy had some success. Having your best OLineman on the field matters, especially when it's the blindside Tackle.
They have an agenda. They hate Jones, and that's it. So they keep moving the goalposts hoping against hope he wont be the starter. Draft a qb, then draft one in the second round, then trade for one, he won't be 100% by opening day, now it's compete with the backup. Pathetic
I have a feeling that this will be their best draft of the last few. Even beyond Nabers who looks GREAT..... I think all 6 guys will contribute (barring injury) in year #1 and this WILL NOT be your 2023 Giants. There's more and better competition and more quality depth. Some fans are getting impatient with Joe Schoen's drafts because there hasn't been much instant gratification but I could see that changing this season. What about the elephant in the room(QB).?? I'm not gonna stress over that right now...... whether it be Jones, Lock or both, they're going to have lots of places to go with the ball if they can get some decent pass protection and I believe they will at some point. Until that time just work on getting the ball out quick.
Like the content but the audio production is pretty shit. Pops and cracks here and last week with sikkema your volume was an 8 with sikkema at a 1.5 made it difficult to find a comfortable volume. Maybe a pop filter and some instant feedback to hear what we do before it goes out? Idk. Either way enjoy the content
Yep...... hoping to see the cream rise to the top there. Robinson is a long shot of course but the three ahead of him are all pretty good players. Even at this unsettled position they finally have some decent depth
OG and DT were two positions I really wanted to see drafted this year. Cooper Bebee and Kris Jenkins were there and would have been nice additions. BUT if Schoen hits on Kubas and Chatman I'll be impressed and relieved. Fingers crossed.
This draft they focused on their coaching quite a bit, they drafted positions with returning positional coaches and Theo (Daboll is personally familiar with him and his family) and I don't think Carmy knows enough about what he has to say what he wants drafted.
One thing that wasn't mentioned was, look at the protection Lock received in most of these clips. If the NYG's Oline play this year is like that of last years, whether it be Lock, DJ behind center. The QB play will suffer. Good Oline play, allows receivers time to run their route and get open, and allows a running game. Making your offense multi faceted in how it can attack a defense. It also allows your QB time to go through their progression. A good Oline can make almost any QB look better, and play better.
On Nagy, of course if DJ was a friend or family member we would as fans blame the situation. Not the player. What a dumb take. It’s year 6 man. He hasn’t played well
