Solar panels can cost up to $500 per panel to remove and reinstall. Doesn’t sound too bad until you realized there’s at least 25-50 panels on a roof. So it can easily raise a roof estimate from $12,000 to $25,000
Man put that camera on a tripod. Absolute worse instructional video I've ever seen. "We're putting this stuff on" what stuff bone head... Everything you did was a miss with the camera bouncing all over... Aweful
I would say this roofer knows his stuff. I tried white roof repair material from big box stores and other tape repair and it always leaks shortly after. I ordered this stuff and will try it. Ordered online: EternaBond EternaClean spray cleaner $35/can H.E.R. 1 Gal $110/Gal 6 inch APOC 483 Fabric $60 - 300 ft roll. I made a roof rock shaker using a tin coffee can drilled on bottom and handle using HVAC metal tape and use it like a flour sifter for UV protection. I also used some 2 ft x 4 ft 3/4 inch plywood , 2 pieces to schooch up 3 pans at a time keeping weight on both pieces most of the time. Should use 2 4x4 sheets but it works. Don't know how you justify $2000. Looks like your labor is $150/hr. In Florida its sucker beware for roofs. I bought big bag of rock from roofing supply I think $30. I have a shed where some DIYer overlapped 2 shorter pieces of tin across entire roof and the angle is too low and you have standing water when it rains. The metal is ribbed. To do it right would have to rip it all down and correct the truss angle which would be very expensive. I hate it when Idiots build something. I would say if you can afford it and live near this guy you would at least get a good job.
Did you ever find someone? If so, how much did they charge? I'm getting WILDLY different quotes and I'm not sure what's reasonable -_-. Floirda is a nightmare for roofing lol. So many scammers out there! I'm in deltona between daytona and orlando.
First thing is to check the slope and make sure there’s an inch or so of drop every 10 ft. I’ve had to cut Joyce from houses that settle put on ice and water, and then elastomeric membrane. I just go overboard with it.
Correct. That’s why most companies are NOT licensed. Most companies just get by in their business by NOT going the extra mile for their company or their customers. It takes a lot to become licensed. And that’s why Ark Roofer is fully licensed, because we truly go above and beyond the bare minimum standards. Arkroofer.com ✅
Commentor is not very knowledgeable with lead. Should have installed a pvc splice and pipe extension. Lead gets cut 1' above pvc and folded into the pipe by using gutter crimper and tapping the lead till it forms to the inside of the pipe.
Hope you can help! ER Systems polyurethane is not available near me in Lakeside, California. Could you please give me a brand that is comparable? Thanks very much!
I’ve made copper and lead boots for over 35 yrs. You’re not supposed to cut the top of it to fold it in your supposed to work it in gently with the back of a ball peen hammer
I have a sunroom like this on the back of my house that just started leaking this winter (we are in Michigan). It seems like it's more likely the long seams between each of the roof panels heading down towards the gutter. The difference I see between this roof and mine is there is a piece that covers the seams, I'm not sure if it's a spacer or a cover of some sorts? Again, it is winter so I can't really work on it right this moment but would you recommend using this same process? I noticed the leak when I heated the room up to put a floor down, and some snow that was on the roof eventually turned to a sheet of ice, then we got more snow and it created an ice damn in my gutter with a insulation layer of ice with snow over it. I went and got a roof rake and it is slowly melting away now with some sun, but I can't stop the leak. I'm afraid to walk on the roof. It literally looks like a few inches of aluminum with a foam in the middle I'm guessing? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thank you for the video.
Hello, here in Michigan too. I did a repair for a lady last year that has one of these sunrooms. After cleaning all the seams, I used this roofing tape I got from Menards on every seam, along w sum vulcum caulk. Lady called sum time later to thank me so I know it fixed the leak 👍
@@santinomartinez7592 Hi! Thanks for your post. I am having leaking also between the long seams inside our three season patio. Could you walk me exactly through the steps of repairing this? How do I clean all the seams, and with what product? The roofing tap goes on the seams on the exterior of the patio? Then, the valkem caulk is placed on top? Any other steps I am missing? Thank you.
@@elizabethirving7924 hello, I just went up there w a bucket of hot, soapy water. Rinsed off whole area w the hose and let dry. I used a tape called eternabond, bout 20 bucks a roll. Ran a bead of the vulcum over every taped seam.
Hi can you please tell me, if I should staple the shingles back they are loosing up? or should I use sealant under them and staple them back? or nail them? thanks
Hello! The same type of situation happened to us as well! We had our house's roof re-done a year and a half back. We have a metal Panel, and it is bending, but the water leak only ocurrs when water hits the roof shingle and touches that transition strip. The strip is bulging out as well. It is unfortunate that we did not know sooner to get it fixed for free, but hopefully I will be able to repair the roof with this method :D
Please see below the sealant used in the video. It only requires 1 application and without the mesh membrane, but I always choose to over deliver on all my work.
