i will order a 850 when i have save the monny :) rental apartments in Sweden have the same law at 22:00 the evening must be quiet and you can't start with loud noises at 06:00 in the morning believe we have the same laws as your country
@@RArecordingsRickValcon ok nice but unfortunately I'm a poor Swede so I have to go for a low price and I new start so I think Millenium mps 850 is enough for me to begin with. but glad you bought more expensive better drums
U must really understand how it's worked..it's not like mc50 or mc500 Roland, unless u understand the midi language.. u can just sample it in tempo if u know and u can EQ everything.. it's up to your ears..
I have 3.. used it in the live band, my drummer just listen to click, played in small piece n u can overdub anything, like suck midi file, just mute the guitars n drums, you can get a real ones..
You mentioned that it remembers the levels of each track so you do not use the faders. That wouldn’t be good for me, otherwise, I could just make a stereo mix of each song that I could use a cd player. I would like the ability to adjust the volume of each track on the fly in case something is too loud or low in a certain room, which you wouldn’t know until you get there. Is it possible to make the faders active to be able to adjust if necessary?
can it do stereo backingtracks while also sending a seperate stereo audio metronome track out, while also have 2 mic inputs that you can EQ and route to your headphones out giving you stereo monitors or 2 layered monitor signals?
dude, was that test file a .wav file ? you really should unhide ext for known file types in windows under folder options if you're into importing/exporting music files. ...just sayin... Windows is a piece of .... they don't make it easy anymore to use your computer for practical reasons. Bill Gates had great ideas.......40 years ago.
This is by far the best video on showing how loud e-drums are. Very good idea to try many different materials so it's easy to compare. Just brilliant. Thanks!
haha, yeah. But for just putting down a song idea when you're on the road without needing an external ampsim is pretty neat. You can actually record with the guitar DI track clean while using the ampsim for monitoring purposes.
@@RArecordingsRickValcon nice. Thats all I would need it for anyway, demos. because demo recordings are the best! xD no srsly check out Wehrmacht - Beermacht demo its so sick haha I digress but currently I'm hooked on the J4t app for android, great analog style four track tape recorder I've been using for demos, recorded a ton of stuff.. its so good I wish someone made a standalone device lol gotta get my hands on the Zoom Tascam stuff eventually. btw I totally forgot BOSS had its own primitive cab sim fx on BR-900CD portastudios from like 2005, unbelievable haha very cool to see more and more realistic tech being made for us guitar dummies on the go :D
You don't need empty tracks to bounce to. For example you can bounce 1 2 3 n 4 to 3 n 4 in stereo. Just set bounce track to play and not mute while bouncing. Set it to mute when bounce tracks have unwanted sounds.
What's up! I just started using my zoom r8.. my computer is down right now. Is there a way that I can import rap instrumentals from my phone on to the zoom r8 so I can put vocals over the instrumental?
you basically need to get your files on the sdcard. so what you would need is an adapter from your phones loading port (lightning/usb C/micro usb) to regular usb A. If it is USB C you can also use a hub. For the others they call it an OTG cable or adapter. Then you plug your zoom R8 mini Usb cable into the hub\other end of the OTG cable/adapter. The phone battery will power the Zoom R8 .. when It's powered up click USB/cardreader and the R8 should show up in your phone as external storage. You can then drop your wav files into the audio folder of your project. If you don't have a project yet. just turn your zoom R8 off and on again. Your phone will then just work as a powerbank and you can make a project in the zoom. after that you can connect as cardreader and do the steps like in the video. Please let me now if it worked out for you. Regards, Rick
Would have been pretty useful if you would have actually played the kit and then cover pads with blanket or something like that and played again for comparison.
hey brother, thanks so much, I been tried during all day long follow a gay from video you tube in argentina, even I´m from México city and speak spanish as this gay, failing in all steps, but with you just take me 5 minutes, really thank you brother, you area amazing and clear with a gift to explaine it. THANK´S!!!!!!!!!!!!
very good video, this gives a really good picture of what the MPS-850 sounds like. I was worried that the ringing would be heard from the basement to the living quarters upstairs. But I tested with the items shown in the video and now I dare to order the drums. Thank you very much for the video
I’m using it to play a backing track. I import the wav and it auto links to 1&2. However there doesn’t seem to be anything coming out of channel 2 or the right output. The headphones out seems fine but not the right output. Would you have any suggestions?
just checking for info. the Wav is stereo and it is imported into track 1 and 2. on the main outputs there is only sound on the left side, but on the headphone out it is the full stereo recording?
@@simonbyrne1834 Ok, I can recreate the problem so I hope it is the same one you are having. The stereo file is imported to channel 1&2. The metronome is routed to channel 2. this will send the right channel to you headphone and your left channel to your main out, When you then put the balance knob in the center, you get the master and click(metronome) channel on your headphone. This is the complete track in stereo. But the master is still just only track 1 because track 2 is routed to the headphones via the metronome workaround. SOLUTION: in the metronome menu put the sound back to an internal sound like click, cowbell etc. The system I use means that you have a second audio track on other channels that are routed to the click track. tracks I don't want to send to the main outs.
Hey man, I'm new to the R8 but are your output jacks TRS ? (stereo) I'm just guessing that if you aren't using both Trs at the output that it defaults to one channel of the other (mono) Headphones are always TRS jacks so you get the separate channels that you're hearing.
I found the solution to my problem! Here is some troubleshooting when your Zoom R8 still doesn’t see files after following the instructions in the video above. On your computer (windows): -First make sure you’re using a wav file. Mp3 doesn’t work. If you still don’t see the audiofile on the zoom: -Right click on your computer on the wav file and go to properties (‘eigenschappen’ in dutch) -A new window opens. Go to ‘details’ -Look for bitrate (bitsnelheid). If the bitrate says: 1536 kbps, then your file will only be seen by zoom-projects with a rate of 48 kHz. If the bitrate says: 1411 kbps, then your file will only be seen by zoom-projects with a rate of 44.1 kHz. So if the rates of the project and the file don’t match, then you have two options: Change the rate of your project on the Zoom. -Click on project -> new -Change the name of the project if you like -Scroll to rate. You can change the rate by turning the wheel at the bottom right of your Zoom. -Scroll to execute and click enter -Try again the steps from the instruction video above. Or: Change the rate (projectfrequentie) of your audiofile. I use Audacity for example: -Open your project in audacity -At the bottom left side of the screen you can select the rate you want. -Export your audio (as wav!) and try again the steps from the instruction video above. Hope this helps!
The video is very clear. But my R8 just doesn’t see the files that I put in the AUDIO folder. I tried a lot of variations: -Converting them to wav (I tried Microsoft 16-bit and 32-bit) -Turning it into a mono file on the computer. -Giving the file the same name the R8 would give it when it would be a recording. Still the only option I have when I try to select a file is ‘new take’. Any ideas?
Great. Thanks. We have RU-vid online stream translations by computer and camera and audio input from mixer device. Audio input made from aux-to usb device. Also we have to use sometimes alternative way of translation - Samsung s8 phone. And phone hasn’t audio input. Ordinary cheap bluetooth rx/tx audio box even can’t connect with phone in rx mode. Hope aux/usb will work with phone and with RU-vid app. will can receive audio from needed input.
Are any of the sounds "velocity sensitive" -I mean do the Kickdrums sound different depending on how hard you hit them or is it just the same sound @ a different volume? ....thanks!
@@RArecordingsRickValcon thank you for your reply So you were saying that the included sounds (or SDcard?) ONLY sound louder or quieter depending on how hard to hit? I'd love a device that I could import multi-samples into instead of "one-shot" types… Have you any suggestions about such modules? Like, which ones I should be looking at, please? Thanks again!
look at 2box. They are the people that used to be the old DDrum by Clavia before it got sold off years ago. The last real DDrum kit was the DDrum 4SE. the first kit by 2Box was the Drumit 5. I've seen guys play jazz on this setup. @@BeesWaxMinder
they are about the same machine, the R24 has 8 inputs and 24 virtual tracks playback, but it also has some of the quirks of it's predecessor , the R16. You can't assign inputs to different tracks for recording/monitoring. This isn't a big problem in itself, but it is a bit limiting. the biggest problem I find for what I use it for is it's size and the fact that you can't give it the power through the USB port in standalone/SDcard recorder mode for use with a powerbank like I use it. It needs the adapter for that. I own both the R24 and the R8 btw and used to run a R16 years ago.
Hello. I have a question: I recorded some songs with the Zoom R8. First track rhythm, then rhythm guitar on the next track and the next 2 tracks vocals. Now I don't know what to do next. Now what do I need to mix my songs? Can you help me with that? Thank you very much. Greetings
It depends what you want to do, do you want to mix it in the zoom or do you want to export the audio tracks onto a pc to mix them in a DAW like Reaper?
