They are actually different. Peyote, you stitch thru the bead. Brick stitch, it's more on the thread. They are very different, even though the look of them are even though they look somewhat similar.it would be called peyote if it was peyote stitch.
Peyote, pronounced pay-oh-tee, is named after it's use in decorating items that are used in native American peyote ceremonies. Peyote is a small cactus that has mescaline which is psychoactive. It's also known as the gourd stitch which comes from it being used in decorating gourd containers. The tribe you're referring to is the Paiute.
Hi, I used a medium gauge of stretch string, no particular brand. Can find at a craft store. Do not stretch the string as you work, just hold your work taut together so the beads are not loose. If you stretch the string as you work you won't be able to stretch the top on to fit :) Hope this helps.
im trying to start making this 3-D, "sculptural" peyote stitch for some animal keychains, so i thank you for making a really easy to understand video about the basics
Organizing is so vital when beading and then Stringing is another process of organizing. I do both and all my Seed Beads all go into tube containers to keep uniformity and then they find homes in clear top pouches. All my Stringing is classified as real stones, wood, shells etc., and then get further organized into color. Have fun!! Once organized, it makes working so much easier. 😉
ARE YA'LL STUPID? SHE DIDN'T MAKE THIS!!! SHE DID NOT DO ONE STITCH, YET SHE SAID SHE WOULD SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT. SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF THE RIGHT STITCH; SHE SAID BRICK STITCH BUT IT IS PEYOTE. SOME PEOPLE WILL DO ANYTHINGTHING FOR SUSTAINED VIEWS. SHAME ON HER. SOME PEOPLE ARE EASILY DECEIVED. 😈👺😠
Unfortunately I do not have this pattern. However I am planning on making my own designs soon, which will be available for purchase. So please stay tuned :)
Sure! This is a great idea. I can definitely do a video for a beaded bee. I have made one of these before, it's now listed on my etsy shop - TiffyDesigns. Thank you for the recommendation!
Hi, Tiffany! Wow, love the planning. I look forward to seeing your projects being completed in the future. So exciting. Oh, oh competing with mom? But that's great that both of you are into crafting. Love your process. Thanks for sharing. - Nancy ❤
