I grew up in Massachusetts and move to Georgia back in 2015 and I was shocked by how pleasant, educated and friendly everyone was. The media unironically has made us bigoted against the south and southerners.
I'm Gen X, I moved out at 18 into a studio apartment that was $425 a month with all utilities included right across the street from OSU. I made 8.25 hr and could pay the rent with plenty of money left over for myself. I was nener stessed to pay bills back then. Basically, the previous generations will have to help the younger generations get into home ownership by helping them pay downpayments on homes ect...and keeping young people at home longer so they can save up money. Sadly...I know many people dont even have family support to help them. 😢
I worked at Motorola from the alternator days @ 4:47 (built in Arcade, NY), to micro TAC phones (1M Sq. Ft Bldg) leaving for Qualcomm in the mid 90's. The first gen shoe phones got smaller/lighter pretty quickly as discrete ICs caught up lowering current consumption and battery technology changed to Nickel Metal Hydride increasing battery density. Working on Micro TACs it was so cool to have the best phone in the room wherever you went, since we could talk on them before they were sold, just had to know a SW engineer who could program the new hardware :-) Mgt thought competition between departments was healthy but it contributed to their undoing (we once got a 28% bonus one quarter while others got nothing, tied to how well sales went!) but mainly their failure to adopt digital protocol doomed them. They thought everything would remain analog forever. While it sounded better, it cut into talk time/battery life and frequency reuse/base station efficiency. Carriers wanted more customers per base station, a huge cost concern and embraced digital. Motorola got caught with their pants down.
this video research is so flawed and incomplete dat i am making corrections as i am watching this and i dont even know mcuh abt tesla being in Nigeria with no EV whatsoever.
are you protesting your universities that dont have anything to do with the war and not the military or government that make the decisions? You guys are way off in location 💚🍓
He didn't "steal* anything. That's how money works. No one is going to bring in most of your initial investments and don't end up taking control of the company. Its basically the thing with selling your novel rights to movie studios. You lose control.
This fact-presentation is biased. You missed a lot of facts brother - all facts that would help Elon's case for founder hmmm. Check your bias Mr presenter. The on-paper founders were too timid to put sufficient money into the company even though they had the multi millions. Prototype vs actually mass market production are 2 different things. The 2 founders on paper would have driven this company to bankruptcy within a couple of years without Elon
Elon is nothing more than a con artist, its incredible he hasn't been taken to court over his lying to shareholders as CEO. From 2016 onwards…next year will be fully self drive AI. The 2 seater sports car in 2017 already in production. The list is so long it's laughable. Statements made to increase share value. By 2024 SpaceX should be on the moon. He spends other peoples money, makes idiotic statements, sells 48bn of Tesla shares at their peak( when he promised he was all in) and then demands 56bn shares compensation. I thought America would have sorted him and his squandering of taxpayer wealth into court by now. If you took away the Government subsidy per car, and units sold, Tesla would not have made a profit yet. Somehow, he has a cult like following.
Good, informative video. However, companies do raise money frequently w/o traction. Otherwise, there would be no pre-seed and few seed rounds. This is important to know because then you don't have to wait for traction and, instead, your investors could invest in you, your team, and your idea.
I think Elon is a "co-founder" in the broader sense. Sure he wasn't there when they named and incorporated the company so he wasn't a co-founder in the strictest sense but nothing really happened until he invested a big way at the very start and he also took control of the company as board chairman from the very start. I think he deserves to be called a co-founder with a small caveat.
Why is this pointless discussion coming up again and again? He founded and build Tesla as we know it. Everything else is pointless technicalities. If Elon didn't exist, nobody would know about Tesla. They would just be a broke startup.
In 2008, Tesla was within days of bankruptcy. Elon had already invested all of his money in Tesla which had next to no assets or intellectual property. His successful fourth rocket flight by Spacex and a NASA contract allowed Elon to save both Spacex and Tesla. Spacex actually started in late 2012 (even though it was incorporated in the 1970’s) with the manufacture of the Model S. The roadster sold less than 5,000 cars over a ten year period at a huge loss. Nothing was put into the model S that was created before 2008 when Elon successfully saved his investment in Tesla from the “so called” early founders of Tesla. All 4 of these earlier “founders” were losers in their Tesla adventure. Elon spent millions and got nothing more than a company name.
dictionary: "Cofounder - someone who establishes an organization together with one or more other people." Cofounders are the infrastructure builders of the foundation that enable others to build on that foundation. Like being a parent for the first 12 years of a kid's life. Sure legally it's something else, but when you build something from the ground up and make key decisions that let the company grow into something bigger no matter what legal title you have, technically you are called you are a cofounder.
The pathetic attempt (widespread around RU-vid) to increase the number of views by attacking Elon Musk is getting old and uninteresting. Look for another target. Elon Musk has already addressed this matter in particular (and this permanent whining of these frustrated guys clearly pisses him off). Elon Musk has already proved his excellency and why he was the right CEO for Tesla when it mattered most. We wouldn't still have Tesla if it had been otherwise. It would have been just another tick in the history books. Those guys that bring up this story, over and over again, should try to do something with their lives.
Caya, with respect, you can’t understand Elon’s actions without understanding what is going on in the world right now. And could there be anything more admirable than rejecting advertisers’ money in exchange for staying true to one’s values?
