What an absolutely fabulous video and tutorial! I know very little about music and possess no musical ability, though, I found myself fascinated by all of these steps and tips. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. And great video editing, by the way! :-)
@@docwallacemusic you were great and I only just read how hot the studio was.. have you any more yt videos? No worries to reply as I found some more .. all great, especially Jesse polka, Ashokan farewell ( 2 of my favourite tunes)
Very good question! The volume swells at the beginning are done with a foot pedal, but may not be as audible because RU-vid adds a tremendous amount of volume compression, which reduces dynamics and swells. Compare any of Eddie's "Cathedral" recordings on RU-vid with a vinyl record or CD, and you'll hear a similar result. For playing guitar music on violin, the right hand needs to be on a bow, not the volume knob, but with pressure changes, it's possible to get the same "synthesizer / organ" effect that Eddie gets with the knob fluctuatons.
Holy fuck that is an amazing sounding instrument. Beautiful, Sad, Scary, Yarning, Howling, Vengeful, Angry, Tears in eyes, Rocking, Shredding, Metal,. I think I found my new favorite instrument.
This is a Wood Violins 6-string fretless custom viper viola. [www.woodviolins.com]. If you're looking to buy an electric, I'd recommend getting in touch with the Electric Violin Shop [www.electricviolinshop.com]. They're very helpful and can let you know the full range of options. All the best to your daughter!
I’ve been playing viola for maybe 6 months and this performance is incredibly inspiring me, this is the type of stuff I want to do, be a violist but break away from classical music. This is amazing, goals
I find it very painful that only a few people cheered like they knew what they were cheering for when the Cathedral intro played, and then a bunch more cheer when Eruption starts. Clearly many of the same people had no idea what or where from the intro song was despite it being exactly the previous music on the album. lol
Discovered those electric violins on the “to live is to die” video and I am still amazed of that sound. Incredible performance ! This really needs more visibility on internet...
Very Jewish Sounding; Jewish Music is Sad, and a story to tell with the Melody. He’s done the BEST JOB yet! NAHUM IS a Sad 😢 book... As of today, it fits with the decor!!!
Alas. Very few of us can approach the artistic creativity of your "Coronavirus is a Monster" remix of a Skillet song. Mad respect, Jodine; mad respect. Your opinion means the world. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ulq0a2sMGOc.html
