Van Halen on ELECTRIC VIOLIN?! (Cathedral, Eruption, You Really Got Me)

A random thought came into my mind how awesome how it would be to hear Cathedral covered on a violin. And I got exactly what I expected... Pure bliss.

You can feel all his passion in this brillian performance,!! Eddie still lives his legacy is eternal! Incredible interpretation!

Now this is what I love to see, as a classical/rock and roll guy myself, I enjoy these covers and feel envious that I cant play that well lol!

These are guys who wanted to jam the F out on guitar but there parents insisted on them learning the Violin. Either way they jam the F out lol

Distortion on a bowed stringed instrument... I would've not thought of that for some reason. I was once listening to some youtube videos of a band called 2Cellos performing live (the reason I say "listening to" is because I'm visually impaired, so I rely soli on hearing the audio). When I heard that distortion sound, I seriously, seriously thought there was an electric guitarist on that stage somewhere. But then I did more research and discovered that they actually use electric cellos, and then I was like "well, that explains the distortion! A rock band that has no guitars, but cellos instead? That's so unique!" This then allowed me to discover other similar bands that use this same concept (for example, you ever heard of Apocolyptica? They've been doing this sort of thing for a long time now). So after hearing 2Cellos and doing some research on other bands that use bowed stringed instruments in place of guitars, I then whent onto RU-vid and typed in something like "distortion sound on a bowed string instrument" or something like that. This exact video was one of the results! So, I suppose I should thank 2Cellos for making me discover this unique concept:).

I find it very painful that only a few people cheered like they knew what they were cheering for when the Cathedral intro played, and then a bunch more cheer when Eruption starts. Clearly many of the same people had no idea what or where from the intro song was despite it being exactly the previous music on the album. lol
