Come along on the adventures of real life mountain man Nathan Harkness. This channel is your one stop shop for fascinating heavy equipment footage, wilderness survival tips, and camping / overlanding in the rooftop tent.
I swapped out to shorter bolts on the brackets securing the RTT to the bars. Saved loads of faff time winding the nyloc up the excessively long bolt. Still using a rachet spanner, but saves 5 or 10 mins across the 8 bolts
Thanks. Ive been thinking of something similar but off the side of the car - then it protects the car side as it comes down (my tail gate glazing is angled and the roof bars too far forward to take off the back)
Has anyone ever had a problem with instability of your vehicle while accelerating or braking with free surface in the pipe? Water weighs a lot! It's high up. It's on one side. Would it be wise to construct a simple small long pipe interspersed with wide perforated collars or flanges into the 6" pipe to baffle and break down the rush of water from one end to the other? Maybe I worked as a tanker officer for too long.
I have heard of people adding baffles and I think it is a good call. I have had the water blow the plug out when I accelerated the first time after filling it, I learned my lesson quickly really tightened it down and haven’t had that problem again.
Potatoes are too good. Carrots are too good. Brussels sprouts are too much like pods from Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Zucchini is a close second. A Brussels sprout gun would strike fear into the heart of any attacker. Even Belgians.
My man thanks but you are damn lucky using no gloves to escape with no chemical dermatitis nor Stanley knife or drilling injury...get responsible, brother
No PVC piping is recommended for pressurization. Add a 12 volt water pump to pressurize shower hose downstream of the 4” solar heated pipe system instead.
I enjoyed your video! Ya double buck brussel sprout launcher! Or beet launcher...I wont eat them either. I will be heading to canadian tire to buy the parts for my camp shower! Thanks✌
@@natenesstv6685 I’m going to build my first one in a few weeks. I like your design. I’ll do a pop off valve with the white plastic and for when I need or am able, I will add a switched 12 volt hot water tank heating element as well. Thanks
you should have placed the spigot as close to the bottom of the tube to drain most of the water. Also, twist a quarter of a thrun of the parts joining to squeeze out any air bubbles on the joint.
I just tested the link and it seems to be working. If not just hop on Airbnb or google and search Adventure Treehouse - As featured on HGTV! Tiny home in Mt. View, Hawaii Hop that gets you there!
OK so you show the whole thing how to make it and then you spent the last five minutes talking about vegetables and potato cannons how about showing some of the operation and how it works how often you have to re-pressurize it how many gallons it is…🥱
I’ll see if I can go back into my archives and see if I have a video of it working and post it for you. This was one of my first videos and of course always would do things differently haha!
Abs is super high in bpa especially when warmed. Not overly concerning for a shower. But id use pvc just so you could use it for potable drinking water if needed aswell. You can always throw a copper pipe inside to prevent bacteria.😊
That’s a great idea I haven’t heard of using copper to fight bacteria! If I could do it over I would definitely go with PVC. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching!
Depends on the temperature outside and if your are in direct sun. You kinda have to play with it a bit. On a 85 degree day it was just right for showering for me.
Been roadtripping a 2018 model 3 for 6 years. Zero issues with range or charging. All over the west, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon. Perfect road trip car.
@@natenesstv6685 Long Range RWD, early serial number. But, I don't think the battery size matters much on a road trip, honestly. I can't recall any recent trips where I've had to use anything close to a full charge for any particular stretch between charging stalls. And, the charging is so fast now that it's hardly a factor in trip quality for me. I'm about to trade in my 2012 F150 and my Model 3 for a Cyberbeast. Parting with my Model 3 will be hard. I've never had a car I've enjoyed more, or that's cost me less to own. In Idaho I charge at ~11-12 cents per KWH for daily driving. Such a great car, and SW updates have made it better and better.
Sounds like a road trip to Idaho is in order for me. 11c per KWH is great! Gotta love Idaho, my in laws live there. Going from a f150 ,one of the most popular trucks in America, to a cyber truck is a jump worth documenting! You should make a video on that!
low maintanance... sexy words... everytime I go for an oil change, the mechanic is trying to hit me up for another $1000 worth of work. a flush here... a leak there.. a blah blah blah... no thank you. and why are you suggesting that I get break service, I JUST GOT IT DONE HERE 3 MONTHS AGO!
Exactly! I have a friend who has the same model 3 as me with 80k and only thing he has done is buy tires for it! It’s nice not getting nickel and dimed!
On the road trip/range anxiety note, you should check out Out Of Spec Studios if you haven't heard of them. They run a group of channels that do a lot of EV testing and on their Out of Spec Motoring channel, they do a bunch of very long road trips with individual EVs as well as road trip races between various EVs, usually 800 miles or more. They show really well how to optimize your charging and get the most out of your range so you aren't having to wait for an hour at every stop. They're very long videos though, usually around 2-3hrs and some are even multiple parts each being that long, but they take you through the whole process. The race they did from Vegas to Colorado between the Lucid Air, Model S, and Porsche Taycan a few months ago is one of their best, and they just recently put out a 3 part series racing some of the new EV trucks from coast to coast. Their main Out Of Spec Reviews channel also does specific range testing, running them all the way until they die on the side of the highway to show how well the software in the car reports the actual battery capacity and how the car responds when the battery dies.
Podrías mostrar cómo va tu avance estoy tratando de enseñarle a mi hijo también de pasar de la bici de equilibrio a la bici de pedal y apenas estoy empezando en ese proceso qué más me aconsejas
I have the Milwaukee 9.0 amp hr high demand battery and have taken it on a 3 night camping trip running it about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs per night and it was still running. So 4 1/2 to 6 hrs of light maybe more. I haven’t done a test yet. I’m sure it depends on how bright and what color the lights are set to.
Cool incline plane design! Did you ever consider winching the rooftop tent straight up from its center and backing the vehicle under the tent? Maybe there is not enough space vertically in your garage to do this.
