I think I bought one package of webtoons credits. After that I just waited for a few new chapters to come out and the one that I wanted to read would suddenly be free. I don't see much value in buying credits to get new chapters when I still have to wait a week for the chapter to be made in the first place or more..

Oh don't worry, the fandom is growing up alright, that's why no one watches this sh!t.

Only ever used it to read new ToG chapters before I found out I can get all the new chapters 100% free through a pirate site.

I dropped them when they started flooding the site with Korean comics. So many of them were almost cookie cutter art, and story too at times.

Well, as soon as "Star Trek" (NuTrek") went from "Allegory woke" to "DIRECT SUPER woke", I was done with that franchise. Also, the conventions themselves started getting WEIRD, and promoting a LOT of "out there" AGENDAS, catering to.00001% of the population, and parodixcally, became LESS inclusive than I've EVER seen it. Well, at least I have the re-runs of Deep Space Nine & The Original Series to view (TNG is DEAD to me after the whole "Picard" debacle). Good riddance to Paramount AND "NuTrek".

webtoon is a lot of times late by several chapters compared to other free sites. they should also ditch the tumblr art stories, those usually contain lame tumblr level stories anyway. they show it has a lot of views but u never hear those titles outside of webtoon. they also should revamp their site. the entire thing screams western tumblr cringe. they also have an issue with writing popular asian stories under a less popular title. ie "teenage mercenary" widely better known on every other site as "Mercenary enrollment" also behind by more than 10 chapters on webtoon.

Their identity is not tied into the fandom of whatever, their identity is tied to their political position. it has nothing to do with what they pretend to be fans of, it's about what "side" they're on, and they almost if not always accuse anyone they see as an opponent as being on "the other side" and they're talking about the side of the political spectrum. There are some, I'm sure, that are tied to the fandom of whatever they claim to fans of, but, most are not worried about the other fans of their targeted genre, but they ARE worried about loosing face to those who have similar political positioning. That's not a fan, that's an activist.

I mean there's only a small number of decent webtoons imo. I really only like Tower Of God when I still used Webtoon. But it's so much easier to justy read for free on some site rather than paying to read. It's sad but that's the reality. And the stuff I hear about artists being screwed over. When it's so easy to find ways to read without paying, why would anyone support such practices. Braindead companies.

My concern would be would Hollywood be even willing to try and make shows from these comics given how badly they got burnt from doing all those tumblr looking shows and none of them really brining in what these studios need them to do. Like Kneon said at the start, Hollywood is slowing down on making shows because the initial streaming frenzy has passed and a lot of the shows they made ended up barely making any money, if they did at all, they might be a bit hesitant on doing any deals with Webtoon. It feels like Webtoon is trying to hop onto the bandwagon several years too late but who knows. Maybe the studios being desperate to win over Gen Z will cave in and deal with Webtoon, who knows.

I like online novels, but not online comics/manga. I go through them way too fast to tolerate paying for them.

Disney really needs to build a fifth park like now because when epic universe opens up next year, dizzy‘s gonna lose a lot of of its guests because they’re all gonna come over to epic universe and disney is gonna sit there and wonder why their parks are not as full as they used to be , they just need to do more than just re-do a ride or that whole beyond thunder Mountain expansion, Again, they need to build a fifth Park right now just to compete with Universal, was supposed to get a few new attractions to like the Mary Poppins ride, but that got scrapped and that new festival center, which also got scrapped, plus Bishop was supposed to get a two year refurbishment, but that never happened, anyway Universal also seems to build their attractions much faster than Disney I mean look how long it took them to build the Tron light cycle power run coaster, that took him five years and it only took universal to build the Velocicoaster like in a year or two

It's not the same. The prequels did worse because George tried to aim for a.younger audience and he didn't have the same people helping him with dialogue and writing...but clearly he still cared for what he was doing and he still kept everything inline with the OT for the most part. Disney is NOT doing ANY of this. They're going after a demographic that doesn't particularly exist while running off the ones that do. They are intentionally making controversial decisions, antagonizing the fans and rectonning, breaking the rules of the IP and breaking the canon all of this is on top of their own take on atrocious writing, dialogue and plot. As George still cared about the IP, Disney does not. George fumbled the ball but at least picked it back up with ROTS, Disney is effectively doing everything wrong again and again and again while trying to tell everyone it's THEIR fault. The media lambasted George for his "racist characters" but the praise the company that is ACTUALLY racist and uses DEI as a hiring metric...surprise surprise, the media was just as dumb and useless in back then at it is now.

Given that Webtoons has reached a ceiling, I fully expect executives to start letting the greediness all hang out. Especially once Pride Month ends.

It kinda sucks that webtoons aren't doing well and it also doesn't help how they treat there authors/artists as well. Especially when there many good webtoons like the creator who made sweet home, bastard, the creator who made watermelon, the creator who made Doom breaker, the creator who made it mine, the creator who made dice, the creator who made the gamer and many more stories and ect. It also doesn't help as well with the deals as well which are in a way screwed the creators.
