That kinda reaction makes me think that she's already been hit by that guy a couple times before during that match. If he didn't, or this is a competetive game, then yeah, big overreaction. However, if this is supposed to be a game between friends and he's hit her before and seen that she can't return that kind of ball, then he'd better aim for the feet or hit it somewhere else.
My Head Speed Pro came over spec at 340 SW strung. The company/shop that will come up with selling rackets according to their actual specs and not paper specs will make a fortune....
I hope they start making some dedicated minimalist shoes designed for tennis. I hear xero shoes is partnering with a basketball player to design a basketball minimalist shoe. As soon as it’s out I’ll try it for tennis!
Mr Black Cap (for identifying purposes only) was totally innocent in this instance. In his defense: 1) he hit to her racket hip. Your taught to aim there or the racket shoulder. He hit it much softer than his technique and physically size would suggest he’s capable of. 2) she was late in retreating to the service line. The second BC hit his previous volley deep to her partner at the baseline she should have moved back and thus been stationary and more prepared/ready for the next ball. That’s a Her problem. 3) she had ample time to just turn her back to him and concede the point. Then if he hit her it would’ve been his transgression. Plus the ball was not hit at a malicious velocity or area of her body. She didn’t turn around so it’s a Her problem. 4) BC immediately put up his hand in apology, I guess apology not accepted 😢. Reasons this could have occurred: 1) I know it’s impossible to gauge a player’s level based on two hits of the ball but I’m guessing that BC is a 4.5/5.0 + that’s just holding back. Miss Melt Down may have been a lower level player and expected a 5.0 to have the control to always hit to the open court. Not realizing that a high level player would unconsciously see a retreating player as a good target. 2) another commenter said she may have been hit many times before this. ( If she couldn’t handle being at the net she should have just stayed at the baseline.) As short as this clip was I don’t sense a adverse atmosphere before the hit. The only way I could see BC being guilty of anything is perhaps socially not reading the room properly. If she was previously giving off signals of building agitation he might have gone out of his way not add to her boiling over. I realize he was under no obligation to treat her with kid gloves but if it was a social set just get through it and never get on the court with her again. Actually if they’ve seen this clip, now no male player will play mixed doubles against her without thinking twice about it. 😢 One of the RU-vid coaches should make a vid on the unwritten rules of doubles, especially mixed. You watching Crunch Time ?
What's the wrong with this lady, anything but aiming for the face is perfectly fine. Generally you aim down at the feet, but body is fine too. If you can't handle that, don't play doubles or don't even play tennis. At the lower levels you barely get a mark from the lower speed ball, and at higher levels they can handle a little sore for a day without wining about it.
That's what my male coach said when you play mixed doubles . They usually aim at the females lol. I guess this just proves what he said. Maybe before nobody was saying anything but I'm glad people are making it a Karen moment. He also recommended never to play mixed doubles as a couple.
Interesting, I wonder if that's true. If the net player is weaker, it can be smart to pick on them but it can be smart as the net player to hit at the net player because they have so little time to react. Personally I play so little doubles that I have almost no anecdotal evidence. However, I'm often avoided at net because I'm 6ft 3in and I get kinda cold when it's my turn at net because I'm avoided most of that point haha.
@@ZeroLoveTennis That's what he told the group. That I know he played a couple of USTA tourneys and got to the finals. He's cool beans, he was sharing what he witnessed.
@@ZeroLoveTennisdefinitely true and you said why, less reaction time translates to more points in the win column for the team picking on the poacher. This woman doesn't have a good grasp of doubles strategy that's readily apparent. I love balls drilled at me, as a poacher they're much easier to deflect! Poaching takes great concentration too see the play ahead of time. If tired hangout on the baseline where you're more effective.
If the poacher is good they can devastate the other team's morale. Not always true just because she's female. Our negative Nancy here should be balling out herself, she wasn't anywhere near aggressive enough and should be going for the guy's feet. She put the ball right on his racket!!! Uhhh DUH! No aim for the feet whenever possible, harder to return. Nothing to do with gender, all to do with skill, this woman's complaints were off the wall because she knew she screwed up badly and was embarrassed about it.
Are you only appreciating it molecularly? Bioavailability for sodium isn't as relevant as a talking point vs other nutrients but the merit in Himalayan Pink Salt is that it's from an ancient dried up sea, formed way before humans ever contaminated the water. It is completely free of any "trace-toxins" such as microplastics because it formed before humans did. That, along with benefits of trace minerals, is why Himalayan is better.
The point is more so that the string pattern is very similar so most of the differences are due to the frame. Not the string spacing or pattern. PA98 more powerful and quite a bit more spin.
Yeah it's similar enough. I would choose the PA98 for myself, though. I don't find it to hurt my arm at all and I do get much more spin and that's something I don't like trading away. Either way, I use a ProKennex now that might get me even more spin than the PA98 and feel/control somewhere in between the two racquets in this video. I'm very happy with that choice.
@@ZeroLoveTennis Whatever you have the most fun with! I returned to tennis after 20 years. I bought two rackets. Pacific Pro N.1 252 and though it is probably not very competitive racket these days it is so much fun to play with and Head Speed that unfortunately came probably the most overspec. it could and it is more like a torture for me that is killing my trapezius muscle. Now I want to try Pure Strike 100. It seems like a boxy frame I would really enjoy and it should not come at ridiculous 340+ SW even if it is max. over the specification. I hope...
What strings would you recommend for me the hyper g strings or rpm blast on the pure areo 98. I want more crispier shots and great top spin. I can’t decide between the hyper g and rpm blast what would you recommend.
Haha I would obviously suggest other than both but between those two options I'd pick Hyper G. Otherwise, I would prefer O-Toro from Toroline or Zero from Restring (with sync in crosses) you will get more spin and life out of them than hyper g or rpm blast by a lot.
Wow! That's crazy! Why did she even volley to him in the 1st place? #1 rule in mixed doubles is to attack the female or weaker player. She should be banned from the facility and league for throwing the racquet at the guy twice.
I agree, completely unjustified aggression. That (we're done) statement at end of exchange. She should be "done" as in banned until she takes her medication.
8:00 made me remember how i cone was collecting balls in front of a ball machine that was still running. i was eager to collect the ones close to it. to eager to notice that....
Mad that he's better than the rating that is meant to be playing in this match apparently - judging by the 3.0 reference. He immediately apologised so unless he'd been targeting them intentionally before that, then I'd say old mate didn't do anything wrong
Nah there's more here than meets the eye. I hunch there's friction between these two players that's been simmering a while. Worth noting the guy could charge her with assault and it's all on camera. She could have injured him more importantly if she can't handle being hit by a tennis ball she needs to hang out on the baseline. I've had my glasses bent poaching. The guy who hit me, we're still friends friends. When poaching you assume risks, she must of known those risks. There's something else brewing here we aren't privy too. Too say she's being unreasonable is a colossal understatement. Maybe she had a crush on him and it wasn't mutual. Who knows but her upset isn't from being tagged with a ball, it's something the video doesn't present. But what a spoil sport profanity, throwing a racket at a player (rackets aren't just wood anymore) he could have been seriously hurt. WATCH ms. Spoilsport's partner after she loses her wig. See his hand gesture to guy nearest the camera? Yeah there's definitely more to this than meets the eye. She got caught out of position, simple as that. Her fault not his, what a drama queen LOL! Why didn't she volley his shot back. Tell you right now, there's more to this than poor tennis and poor form 🤔
Maybe it's slightly different since it bounced first but then she proceeded to throw a racquet in response to getting tapped by a pretty gentle volley. A disproportionate escalation
Haha I didn't disclaim this enough in my branding update video. Did you happen to see that? I do love Zero but forgot about that entirely when claiming that name.
