Hi, my name is Eric, and welcome to Theme Park Avenue. On this channel, I talk about hundreds of roller coasters and dozens of parks in a variety of video formats such as rankings, reviews, and more. There are hundreds of videos on the channel already and more are on the way. If you are interested in some honest but overall positive thoughts about visiting theme parks, this is the place for you and I encourage you to subscribe and check out my current catalogue of videos.
BGT is also my home park. 1. Iron Gwazi 2. Kumba 2. Montu (I swap back and forth) 4. Sheikra 5. Cheetah Hunt 6. Cobra’s Curse 7. Phoenix Rising 8. Tigris (Comfort Collars SUCK) 9. Scorpion
My favorite roller coaster there is Iron Gwazi, followed by Cheetah Hunt, Sheikra, Kumba, Montu, Cobra's Curse, Tigris, Sand Serpent (R.I.P.), Scorpion, and Python (R.I.P.). I haven't ridden Phoenix Rising yet, but if I had to guess, I predict it would place between Tigris and Sand Serpent.
this is my favorite recurring video you do, Eric! So glad I got to ride Cheetah Chase Aka SandSerpent before it closed last year, it's missed in the ranking! The new pheonix rising coaster seems fun though. I feel like you switched up the ranking, you may have put cheetah hunt ahead of Kumba in prior videos. But this list was great, and I mostly agree with your list (kinda!), here's mine!: 10. Air Grover (never ridden) 9. Scorpion (love this thing) 8. Tigris (I don't mind the harness!) 7. Cobra's Curse (what a fun 1!) 6. Pheonix Rising (haven't ridden, but I'm hoping this ride lands here, we'll see) 5. Sheikra (made the big edit and put it behind Cheetah Hunt! Sue me! :p) 4. Cheetah Hunt (it's definitely a crowd pleaser, the boosts are awesome!!) 3. Montu (giving the nod to Kumba, but it's close) 2. Kumba (it's just such a classic!) 1. Iron Gwazi (it lives up to the hype, I can't wait to ride it again!!) can't wait to go back...but I will, as I need to hit some other awesome parks first, and expand my palette!
Was just here last month and had a great time! Cheetah hunt was closed and Phoenix wasn't open yet, so this is my ranking: 8. Air Grover 7. Sheikra 6. Scorpion 5. Cobra's Curse 4. Tigris 3. Montu 2. Kumba 1. Iron Gwazi
I have a sibling who hated roller coasters for YEARS bc my mom took him on dinosaur at legoland Florida at 6 years old thinking it was a “family coaster” like it was labeled. My brother was traumatized and hated them. However, he slowly started riding slightly bigger rides until we went to Busch gardens Tampa and encountered the new at the time Tigris. My brother was fascinated by the ride and decided that he was gonna go on it. And in the end he loved it. This ride was the true spark that resulted in him overcoming his fear and the solidification of his love of roller coasters with Yukon striker back home. So even if the ride isn’t all that good, Tigris is responsible for giving him one of his greatest passions and now he can’t get enough of roller coasters (he literally went on steel vengeance a week ago and adored it) ❤
1. Iron Gwazi 2. Kumba 3. Montu 4. Cheetah Hunt 5. SheiKra 6. Pheonix Rising 7. Cobra’s Curse 8. Tigris 9. Scorpion 10. Air Grover I’ve never been there, but if I did go there that’s how I’ll think it’ll rank.
I just left this exact ranking! Pheonix Rising's slot being my educated guess for now until I ride it. So cool to see you guessing your own ranking before going, and it matches what I just wrote up! nice!
I’ve never been to bgt but I would like to say I could imagine what it’s like by the way you described it. You make such quality videos, and I thoroughly enjoy your content. Would you take this over my home park of kings island? I think it would be cool to see ki vs bgt. Iron gwazi vs mystic Timbers Sheikra vs diamondback Banshee vs montu Backlot stunt vs cheeta hunt I can’t think of any other matchups🤷♂️
I really appreciate your comment. I haven’t done a park battle in a while, but that would be a fun comparison. Overall, I prefer Kings Island but both are fantastic.
I may have to try Kumba again because it was the Vomitron 3000 for me back in March. Montu didn't bother me, but Kumba and Scorpion sent me to the bathroom with a close call. That being said, Iron Gwazi, Montu, and Cheetah Hunt were my top picks with Sheikra right behind. We'll see what I think when I go back on Wednesday!
I think phoenix rising for me will be a decent ride if i need a pace breaker from the more intense rides like montu or tigris, but still want to ride something. But if it's still too intense at 40 mph there's always the animal exhibits to check out as well as good food.
Having gone to cedar point with Valleyfair as my home park, it's too overwhelming with all the coasters. But Valleyfairs coasters range from awesome to just ok, which was PERFECT for me as a tiny tot, but not now. All of these coasters were awesome when I rode them two years ago, and I didn't know it was iron gwazis first year of operation so I was quite lucky
I can agree Kings Island is one of the parks in the world. You have so much theming, and the operations were great. I rode 7 coasters on my 1st day along with flat rides. I did it 4 times, absolutely a steal, and enjoyed my time there. I'm going back in 2025! Look out Kings Island.
I grew up within four hours of six flags great America, kings island and cedar point. Amusement parks are one of the only things that make the midwest fun
i went today it was absolutely the best. my favorite ride was thunderbird it was soo fun and really smooth! and the free sunscreen the oasis and just getting to go on anything with no tickets is the best! and the mammoth water coaster was so fun!!
It is a very moderate roller coaster. Certainly enjoyable as far as family coasters go, but it you're not interested in family thrills, you probably won't consider it very good.
This is my home park!🥰 I hope to go soon!! I especially agreed with you the new Zambezi Zinger is WAYYY too rattly and rough! I'm only 36 but me old bones don't like rough coasters😅 It was actually painful. I love Mamba! You didn't go on my favorite of all time, Viking Voyager the log ride!💖 And you're so right, Spinning Dragons has no shade for the line, while having such long lines! I do love to ride it but I am way too pale for that sunny line!
