My name is Willy and welcome to my RU-vid channel. It's just me working on my cars, trucks and of course my minibikes. So sit back and enjoy the videos. Thanks for watching!! Please subscribe if you haven’t already.
Hello Bryan, Glad you liked the video. No the Flowmaster doesn’t weigh less than the stock really. It’s made of thicker material even though it has less inside. Truck sounds amazing with it. Thanks for watching!!
Hello, Seems all the plastic in vehicles nowadays gets brittle quickly. This repair has been holding up well. This video is two years old and the knob still works. And when it does finally fail the replacement part is cheap and easy to change. Thanks for watching!!
We had already put a lot of money in this repair. Besides the timing chains and guides I also replaced the heater hoses, alternator, valve covers and gaskets, vvt, Pcv and fixed AC leaks. I would have loved to buy an aluminum radiator but by this point the pocket was getting empty…😂 Thanks again for watching!!
So i have the same setup 1.6td and all it's the Acme kit and all that brand new t-case and transmission and my problem is 5th gear is to short for me I have 31.10.50 but I run out of gear in 5th it's like I need a 6th gear lol I think I might need 33" tires or taller gears not low range gears...
@@johnsmith-oh2xo Hello John, I agree that this transfer case ratio is perfect for everyday driving with my 31’s but not good for off-roading. I’ll be switching back to my stock case after the engine repair. That set up with the diesel was more drivable. Thanks for watching!!
I love this kind of stuff! I fell in love with the dark blue Lamborghini. It looked like a Diablo but I'm not up on my Lambos these days. I actually owned a white Countach kit car at one point. I wish I'd kept it now. It wasn't show quality and sported a V-6, but it still turned heads!
I would have loved to see your Countach kit car. I’ve also wanted one of those. I’ve been a huge fan of the Countach since the opening scene of Canonball Run. I wish I could get my hands on one of the little Fiat bus things. Not sure what it was called but it was cool. I need to make room in my garage for a 914 like the black one.
Happy BDAY Willy!🎉 cool video 😎 what a great day to spend with your son checking out all these cool cars I bet you had a head rush after the day was over😂 The Fiat was cool. I’d like the Karmin Ghia that Ford Fairlane was the bomb and it’s not every day you get almost taken out by some jerk on an E bike.😮 Awesome video and it’s close to home!
Thank you It is a cool show. My son has been a few times and always brags about it so I’m happy he took me this time. So many nice cars you have to keep your head on a swivel not to miss something. That Ford Fairlane was longer than my crew cab truck…. 😂
U shouldve passed out some stickers i always forget i could have alot more subs i just forget to tell people Happy Birthday willy 🎂 🥳 🎉 enjoyed the footage 💪🏼💯💨💨💨💨💨 that camper truck is ready for some mud 🔥🔥🔥
@@DIYWilly I know its weird like that sometimes the older I get the younger I feel mentally but my body is taking the toll 💪🏼💯💨💨💨gotta get it while the gettins good
This is way outta my knowledge of operations but with the wisdom and courage i now know the difference lol whatever you did its fresh and diy willy style 💪🏼💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
@DIYWilly I had the ecotec in my Saturn vue it needed a timing chain bad ended up junking it for 300 bucks if I was into fixing stuff like I am now I would've kept it
If you are slowly losing coolant, then it may well be that your cylinder head is cracked at the #4 intake. Super common. TSB 20-NA-166 and maybe others cover it.
Hello TheObserver, No I don’t have any coolant loss. Sounds weird but wish I did so the repair could be covered under what you mentioned. If or when my code comes back it will most likely be a mechanical failure In the AFM system. It has showed its face again but cleared itself during the drive cycle. I’ve been thinking of this a lot lately and haven’t decided if it does come back if I would do the AFM delete or just repair the factory parts. The truck has gone 13yrs without any serious issues. So if I could get another 13yrs I’d be happy. Thanks for the heads up and thanks for watching!!!
Great video . Lots of being careful and logical unlike many videos on YT considering single 4 stroke engines . I typically tape over the valve seats with gorilla tape giving me some added safety . I'm old and shaky but I'm🤣 still getting it done .
I took my truck in when it was rough idling and acting like it didn't want to accelerate the check engine light was flashing. they told me I needed new mass air flow sensor. got that done and upon driving it it seemed to solve the problem about 90% but I could still feel a slight rough idle here and there at stop lights.. very little.. well exactly 1 year later th3 truck doing the same exact thing and check engine light flashing doesn't have much accelerating power. now the code is P304. but it feels exactly the same symptoms as the mass air flow.. 220k miles. also my muffler came unwelded and thats been off in the garage
Hello Tradergirl, There could be other things that will cause P0304. Depending on what engine you have the AFM may be failing. Thats a whole other problem. You can try easy stuff like fuel injector cleaning. Have someone check for weak coil packs and wires. Being that the code is 304 means the problem is on cylinder 4 on the passenger side. Hopefully it’s not failing lifters
ok i ordered the pieces for the inlet hose replacement I figure while I'm under there working I should replace the outlet side also. I've been looking and I notice u bought the entire assembly for the outlet instead of only the plastic peace and the hose was there a reason for this or is it just easier to get the entire assembly?
Question i blew that peace off its the actual plastic hose attachment coming out of the firewall. Is that part of the heater core ? There seems to be a tension ring beyond the hose?
Hello jmarsh, I can’t be sure by your discrimination what has failed on you truck. Most likely it’s the same part changed in this video. Thanks for watching!!
@DIYWilly yes it's that weird looking plastic connector. My question is now why the heck they would put that plastic connector between the hose and the metal heater core pipe. Heck why would anyone use plastic in the first place in an heat environment. It's like the weak link in the chain.
The new adapter looks great. Everyone needs a long term project to work on. And, it's nice to be able to step away from it every now and then. You can always return to it later. There's no better feeling than completing something that's taken a lot of time and work to do. I believe long term projects are a part of good mental health! (I need all the help I can get!)
Yes this will be a long term project. My blue 68 bug took 2 yrs to build and it’s still needs love. My mental health also needs some help. Sometimes I just don’t know where to begin..
The fun part is figuring out how to make parts work together and accomplishing the task. The ARP bolts are some of the best you can buy, I used them on my alum cyl. heads on my Chevelles 541cu in big block motor. Nice video Willy👍
Nice! She 🔥 fired up! Getting my Harley ready to fire up after setting for five years.. perfect timing with your video for a little inspiration!! Have a great time with the family! Looking forward to the next video ☮️🤙🏻
I really need to get it road worthy again. It’s so fun to drive like driving a street legal gokart. Should be a relaxing time with the family. Sundays video will be on the Baja RZR and the clutch adapter. Thanks for watching!!
@@DIYWilly Black Betty has been setting for five years. I put fuel stabilizer in her and had to many projects and she was neglected… I pulled the gas tank and will flush it tomorrow. I should pull the carb also but may see if she’ll fire up with some fresh fuel first. I miss the sound of the engine but not the fools on the road🤬 she’s a 1200 Sportster custom, fast and unforgiving. I posted a short some years ago I believe you saw it. Wish me luck 🍀
Hopefully she’ll fire up and come back to life. Definitely watch out for the fools on the road. It seems everyone has forgotten the rules of the road and common courtesy towards others. I’ll have to go a look for the short on Black Beauty.
Thank you! Wish I was able to drive it more. Just don’t have the time for the repairs that it needs. I hope to get it back on the road someday. Thanks for watching!!
Hello, It’s fine to leave it hanging but always best to secure things to keep them from rattling or getting damaged some other way. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for this video my brother. I'm trying to be more self-sufficient on fixing my car. Please if you have a oil change link for the Frontier SV 4X4 I'd loved to check that out
Hello PhilHeat, Unfortunately I don’t have a video of changing the oil. I found there was a lot of that type of video out there. Maybe I should do it just to show the way I do things… I did do a transmission fluid and screen change video. And I have replaced many different sensors on these trucks. Enjoy that truck! Thanks for watching!!
F.YI........throttle plate on the later 5.3's should never be actuated by hand. Otherwise, throttle body has to go through a relearn process before idle will clean up. All is not lost. With key on / engine off have someone press down on accelerator. The throttle plate should open.
Hello trappn, Thanks for the helpful recommendation and quick fix. I didn’t have any trouble with mine but you never know. Thanks for watching and have a blessed day!!
Hello Herman, I guessing you need this part. This link will take you too Z1 Offroad and they sell quality replacement and factory parts. So Check’em out and good luck with your repair. I’m always here if you have questions.. Thanks for watching!!
Hello MountainEagle, The engine in this video is completely bone stock right out of the box. In a later video with the governor removed it reached 53mph. We only had one attempt at that due to the welds on the exhaust flange broke. One thing you need to take into consideration is the amount of time it takes to reach said speed The stock 224 can reach the 30+mph very quickly. I have a modified 79cc that does about the same but it takes a little long to get there. Thanks for commenting and be safe out there on that minibike. Thanks for watching!!
Hello Mitchell, I have a clutch adapter that bolts to the crank shaft and mounts a RZR turbo clutch. I have all of the clutch set up now and that video will come out on Sunday. I know there will be some clutch tuning needed and probably gear reduction for the transmission. I will do that once I get it running and driving. Do you have any experience with these clutches? Hope you subscribed so you can follow the progress. Thanks for watching!!
@@DIYWilly definitely got a sub. Don't have any experience tuning cvt clutches. Trying to find a way to rear mount auto engine in a S10 with sxs type suspension. Transmission with 4x4 short enough is my challenge
Even sounds great through the tv speakers 🤣I've been researching almost the same setup for my 2004 Chevy crew cab but having challenges with under the seat space. My seats are independent and fold forward. Does any of the equipment have cooling fans? How many total amps does the system draw? Dang copyrighted music will get you every time 😫great video brother Willy! ☮🤙
So far I’ve been impressed with the system overall. We’ll have to see how long it all last. I listen to a variety of music and usually at max volume. I like to feel the music. So no there are no cooling fans only heat sinks. Fits nicely under my rear seats. Using e=mc2 😂 formula at 4ohm the system draws something like 49 amps. Really hard to total everything because who knows how the manufacturer gets their stats. These speakers don’t get all the highs accurately but do sound good. My JBL’s had clearer sound. I wish copyright wasn’t a thing… Thanks for watching!!
@@DIYWilly Well it sure sounds great over the tv and desktop! I’ve had some complaints about my music too 🤣 can’t please everyone… You can only use what’s available without copyright issues. My friends have a punk rock band 🎸 and I have been making videos for them. That would definitely give your system a good run 🤣🤣 a bunch of 60 to 80 year old Punk rockers!
@@DIYWilly I failed math 🤣🤣🤣 RU-vid won’t let you share video links in comments 🫠 I posted them on the channel. Look for the thumbnail of the VW bug. I really like what you’ve done with your system! I’m jealous!!!
If you can fit the 10-inch version of this subwoofer, It is significantly better than the 8 in version! And only like $25 more. I have a 10 inch in my work truck, and Two 8in ones in my car. The 10 inch is way better in every way, Louder, More low end ect. The 10 inch is about 15 to 16 inches long with wires attached is its only downside. The 10 in is 3.1 in tall, The 8 in is only like 11.5 inches long with wires attached and only 2.5 inches tall ( the add on Amazon says they are both 3.1.. But, That is not correct.) Also, Just an FYI , the 8inch is about 80 watts RMS and the 10 inch is maybe 110 rms watts. I have no Idea where they get the 400 from? They are both solid, reasonably well-built units that preform above their price range. They do Have a flaw tho, If you sit them on the carpet they get too hot, and over time that heat will damage the electronics inside and cause them to fail.. I recommend putting 1/2 in rubber feet under them so they can get 360 degree air flow, And if you can putting a small 12 volt whisper quiet fan blowing on them.. This will give you the longest life span of the product. Hyanka's car coaxial speakers are great for the price point also, Big magnets and they handle watts and sound good loud.
Hello mooklaathegreat, Yes I was also very impressed with the 8” subwoofer. I asked to try the 10” but instead they sent me their CDP-1200D subwoofer amp. I paired that with a shallow mount 10” infinity subwoofer and that thing hits hard. I have a video coming tomorrow on that amp. So far everything I tested has been great. I have 4 6.5 coaxial speakers in stock location power by their 4-channel amp and now their subwoofer amp and the 10” infinity shallow mount sub. I have been really surprised with the sound quality so far. Great suggestion about raising the amp up to help keep it cool. I will definitely try it. Thanks for watching!!
Hello kit, This video is 2yrs old. I’m sure the company has either changed or improved their design since. I worked with the company then to correct their mounting parts. They probably changed the whole top since then. Thanks for watching!!
@@DIYWilly oh! Sorry I didn’t even look at that. Just was frustrated installing it. Still can’t get it to latch closed although everything is lined up. I’ll go back to it another day. Thanks!
@@DIYWilly yes it won’t push down to close. I’m not sure if I should redo everything & push it back more or if it’s something else. But it just barely covers the edge of the weather stripping so I just left it to think about it later.
This video is great. I purchased the same bed cover and this video helped me ahead of time while I waited for it to arrive. However just a heads up, the clamps shipped with the cover now are updated (they don't go into the rail system of the bed, assuming not to tie up the rail system). They now clamp to the underside of the black piece running along the inside of the bed, above the rail system. This is similar to a video I saw where a guy recommended different clamps as to not tie up the rail system, so it looks like OEDRO followed his and possibly others' advice. The odd thing is that they still include the old instructions that mention installing into the track/rail system. There is just no way as the clamp/bolt is nowhere near long enough, nor is it designed this way any longer.
Hello 4beachgators, I worked with them to fix the clamps in my video. So i see where they could redesign them. Glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching!!
@@DIYWilly Actually, I assumed all 8 clamps provided (two packs of 4) were the same. I opened up the other set of clamps and they ARE the track system style clamps. So it appears they are packaging two different types to choose from :) I'm getting a little wind flap while driving, so I may utilize at least 6 clamps on my 2022 Frontier to really clamp it down. Thanks, Again!
Hello foolonthrn, It currently flattens out at 45mph. Hopefully with the new cam and springs it will get past that. My 224 does 53 and I never had a chance to get the Monster 212 build to test for high speed. Thanks for watching!!
