Great video! Really like the trouble shooting and explanation of the job! I had to put tape over my aftermarket stereo alarm it was to loud also. That record button plays hide and seek with me too 😂 Happy Easter 🐣

If you are slowly losing coolant, then it may well be that your cylinder head is cracked at the #4 intake. Super common. TSB 20-NA-166 and maybe others cover it.

Hello TheObserver, No I don’t have any coolant loss. Sounds weird but wish I did so the repair could be covered under what you mentioned. If or when my code comes back it will most likely be a mechanical failure In the AFM system. It has showed its face again but cleared itself during the drive cycle. I’ve been thinking of this a lot lately and haven’t decided if it does come back if I would do the AFM delete or just repair the factory parts. The truck has gone 13yrs without any serious issues. So if I could get another 13yrs I’d be happy. Thanks for the heads up and thanks for watching!!!

I had to replace front def and hole front end on my 2500 new trans a t case almost a new truck but all in all still cheaper then a new one good stuff Willy

I took my truck in when it was rough idling and acting like it didn't want to accelerate the check engine light was flashing. they told me I needed new mass air flow sensor. got that done and upon driving it it seemed to solve the problem about 90% but I could still feel a slight rough idle here and there at stop lights.. very little.. well exactly 1 year later th3 truck doing the same exact thing and check engine light flashing doesn't have much accelerating power. now the code is P304. but it feels exactly the same symptoms as the mass air flow.. 220k miles. also my muffler came unwelded and thats been off in the garage

Hello Tradergirl, There could be other things that will cause P0304. Depending on what engine you have the AFM may be failing. Thats a whole other problem. You can try easy stuff like fuel injector cleaning. Have someone check for weak coil packs and wires. Being that the code is 304 means the problem is on cylinder 4 on the passenger side. Hopefully it’s not failing lifters

I had a misfiring '98 dodge ram, if you watched the engine running at night in the dark i could see arcing out of the spark plug wires where they were close to the block, got some good aftermarket wires and cured the problem. But 13yr old plugs i wouldn't trust.

Was definitely time to change the plugs. They’re said to last 100k but honestly I should have changed them sooner. I noticed a rough idle starting last year.

I have the same code on my 2010 Nissan versa. I also have a hole in my exhaust near the upstream(air/fuel ratio) 02 sensor and have been getting a code for the o2 sensor as well. Could the O2 sensor issue be causing the misfire?

No wouldn’t think so. You should get the hole in the exhaust plug welded. That may correct the O2 sensor code. Try the simple troubleshooting for the misfire. Move the plug and coil to different cylinders and watch the code. My guess is you have a tired coil. Thanks for watching!!

Good one! This reminded me it's time for some fresh plugs in mine too. If the coil isn't too pricey, I'd replace it. I'm planning on replacing the coils on mine when I do the tune up, but it's only a 5 cyl GM and the coils are cheap for those. Your engine sounds good to me. I didn't hear any misfires at all?

Yes the engine is definitely running smoother since replacing the plugs. I moved the coil but the misfire stayed with #4 so not sure what that means. I believe the coil is fine.

@@DIYWilly I wonder if it may have a little carbon build up on the valves or seats in that cylinder? A good dose of Sea Foam is never a bad idea regardless IMO.

I would much rather there be carbon buildup than a damaged lifter in the AFM system.

Hello Vic, No it was the spark plugs. I’ve already changed the fuel injectors when I had the 219A code. Thanks for watching!!
