I’m having trouble getting my rear day light running light working , when I put the light switch on it turns the brake light off . When I switch to middle it turns headlight off and rear light on . Would this happen if I was missing both small bulbs for turn signal indicator?
Do mean how did the actual indicator light fitting get attached to the plastics? The indicators have a nut and bolt so I just drilled a hole through the black plastic reg plate holder.
@@danburton787 never mind, I realised that I drilled holes in a aftermarket fender. I found the OEM filter in the back of my mates truck, after that fact lol. Anyways it’s set up to pass road worthy haha
Perfect! I am considering a 500 EXC-F for riding the TET (Spain) and would need indicators for the road work. How is the 500 on pavement, can it sustain 120kph for short highway stints? I know its been some time, did you save a list/part numbers of the required parts?
I used a 500 for three years to do the TET. It's fine for short motor stints. I added a cush hub, throttle tamer and balanced the wheels. (Oh and a seat) These last three changes made the road miles much easier.
never even knew about these tamers - i just got a 19 exc510 and yeah, the 1st tug is a definite click / burst - i think i may hunt this one out, thanks ,how did the trip go?
@@danburton787 no but my xcw doesn’t have any and if you look closely he doesn’t have a rear brake light switch and I don’t remember but I don’t think he has one in the front as well
Hi I have done it same way everything double checked but when I push left or right all 4 indicators work.. They blink but all 4 I cant find the problem
It came with the bike. Have you used a KTM dealer and checked the fische? I suspect Trevor Popes website could be used to find the part number. (That's what I use to get OEM part numbers and parts)!
@@raoul_v.p._ I ended up buying the EXC turn signal switch and just wired it up with an LED compatible Flasher Relay, wired up a small horn, and moved the headlight controls to the same knob as well. It's actually a nice clean setup and was super easy and cost me not much at all. You could go with an amazon one that looks the same, they're all pretty good for what you need to get done to make it legal
There is different thingy for your bars that makes it low beam ... I have no idea what it is called that’s how I ended up here . Pa mine came with a plug to plug straight in
So this is super helpfull, but I have a 05 exc 125. The thing seems to be stripped of most of the indicator stuff, I Just have no Idea what cables I need.
Hi Dan, thanks for sharing. I recently got a 2019 and am thinking of similar mods. With the headlight, do you find the lack of a dipped beam a problem for road riding at night? I have the same light but am going back to standard for that reason. I’m thinking I can just fit an LED bulb if I need more light although the spread will not be as good as the Acerbis.
Hi there. Thanks for your videos:) about to buy a 2018 500, do you have any info re cush drive please, hoping to do a lot of TET this year, covid allowing
Hi Andy, the rear cush hub for that bike came from a KTM 640 adventure supermoto (from Facebook market). I stripped the hub out and had it laced into a standard EXC rim. I think the wheel from the 640 adventure (non-super Moto) is a straight swap. I had spacers made by a local engineering firm as there was about 1mm of play. You can have hubs made by Talon and others. UK or EU TET? I'll be doing more too.
Right.... But it is the top plate that has control of the angle of the lamp. Also, I purchased the Exact Same 48W LED spot work light from eBay for $9.88 delivered to my door. I had an old plastic light visor ... SO I made my own 48watt lamp for less than $10. LOL

@@renegoudreau8578 I got one just like this.. Make Sure it is the thick one with all aluminum housing. There are some cheap smaller, thinner ones made of Plastic.. The one I have is a Fabulous light that runs on 12 VDC... <;) www.ebay.com/itm/48W-LED-Work-Light-5D-Lens-Truck-OffRoad-Tractor-Flood-Lights-12V-24V-Square/132474750745?hash=item1ed81c4719:g:G5IAAOSwBJJeqS4-
