I'm a fan of all of Anne Rice's vampire books. And her as a person. (And yes, sorry, but Twilight is for idiots.) But when she mentions competence, I remember her description of Kievo-Pechersk Lavra and she was completely incompetent when describing that was and the behavior of the boy Andrei. Я из России! ❤
Wouldn’t one have to imbibe to an extreme, to dredge up a world of undead and their culture? Ongoing? Geniuses have many times claimed alcohol as part and parcel to their success. Unsure, but either William Faulkner was wrong, or Anne, here, is wrong.
Oh wow. See, I liked some areas of Queen of the Damned movie. I enjoyed the music, and I guess the modern type turn they made with vampires. But at the same time there was some things I didn't like about it at all. It felt like it shouldn't have even been in the same place as in relation to a great vampire movie. Undeserving to be is the word I think. Never could quite put my finger on it, until tonight when I came across this video. Anne helped me fit the right piece to the puzzle I'd been looking for. Look, Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend were great. No disrespect there. But I agree, the movie shouldn't have ever been made. Anne was a genius, and an absolute mastermind when it comes to vampires. She perfected her art.
RIP Anne Rice. This is perfect advice. I did what Anne said and now I'm a self published author. It's a great feeling of accomplishment. Keep writing your way into your own unique universe. Good luck writers.
I love how she's trying be respectful but honest. She doesn't like it but understands if someone does. Those stories are for young girls. Of course most adults and serious horror fans are gonna find it ridiculous.
How frustrating and insulting that must be for a writer. To create stories as brilliant as she did and have to sit and watch people butcher it and add stuff to it for a movie. And then put her name on it to draw in more money even though it's not hers! I loved the book but didn't care for the movie at all.
Thank you, I grew up reading the Vampire Chronicles. (I've not yet read Interview though!) The Feast Of All Saints was also one of my favourite books of all time! My copy was gold leafed....I lost it in Brazil while traveling😢 That book is just so beautiful with all the New Orleans / Cajun french language woven into it.
i was so sad when they killed Pandora, really killed the progression of the story for the future, she would have made a wonderful movie from her book alone as well as the obvious choice Lestat
I’ve read all her books but they are an information dump and can’t be made into a coherent movie. I loved this movie. Stuart Townsend turned in a hell of a performance. Without Ann Rice.
