Love her so much. Wish she could have seen how beautiful the TV show turned out, if different than perhaps at first imagined, so incredibly true to the spirit of her work imo. Love her always.
Ms. Anne Rice, as a little girl, you were the author that inspired me to want to become a writer. The Vampire Chronicles had such an impact on me and I am so proud that after all these years your marvelous series is going to be put to film. I cannot wait to see the wonderful vision that you have created and in doing so I wish you all the luck in the world. :)
I just really think Michelle Pfieffer needs to be Gabrielle. It's the one casting that I've never seen a fan disagree with. Lestat must be the hardest role to cast. He is so iconic.
Oh Anne haven't bee this excited about a show in years! Please do Lestat properly! Who ever you choose... Don't go for older familiar face actor.. Lestat should be fresh face, young talented actor, someone people will connect only to Lestat! And he should have the character but also appearance of Lestat as it is big part of his charisma! And do ruin it by making it into another "young adults audience" nonsense! That was take away so much from this timeless classic vampire saga! I can't wait to see it! Been a fan of the books since the 90's!
Oh yes i completely agree with you about the "fresh actor" part especially! It would be fantastic to see someone on screen and not be clouded with pre recognition of other roles theyve played. Lestat is such a powerfully written character, this is a series that should define a great part of any actor's career! She seemed very ethusiastic so i have full faith she will not allow any watering down :') this is going to be phenomenal!!!
MMaya Oh boy I couldn’t agree more. This is so crucial. Please Anne no mainstream Hollywood actors. Lestat, Louis, Marius, Armand, David Talbot (young & old), Pandora, Akasha, Nicholas, the Twins. Louis look was important to me as well as Armand’s staying true to the books. Most especially Lestat & Marius must, must stay true to the book. Many mentions throughout the chronicle books state the resemblance between Marius and Lestat. Yet the movie made Marius a peony, middle aged , balding man that I just could not see him as Marius. It really bothered me.
I think the name should be "the vampire chronicles" Always loved the name You're the queen and one of my favorite authors Please keep the books coming Can't wait for the TV series and the next novel

I just found this video.. been a long long time Fan and reader . I have searched the world over for my Lestat with no luck . So in my fantasy and in your books he remain my immortal beloved . I also find it intriguing.. I just saw a trailer for the show, and A behind the scenes making .. and it saddens me that they did not start the show , or do any of the things she just spoke about . Starting in the book of LeStat , or going in the direction she was hoping for. It seems disappointing. I would have loved to see her actually version.

I nearly jumped when I heard that there's gonna be a TV series based on one of my favourite book series. Lestat became something more than just a hero for me. I'm really happy that you want to find an actor who looks just like Lestat from the books. Lestat from Queen of the damned movie didn't feel like Lestat at all (a nice vampire, but not Lestat). I am so very excited for this series, I am currently using wife's phone my name is Adam. I feel simply The Vampire Chronicles would be perfect. A suggestion for casting however would be Marilyn Manson whom I am a fan of as an artist, but also an actor and I feel he would portray a vampire perfectly certainly a villainous one, but perhaps not without sympathy as honestly I view all vampires as sympathetic villains in their own rights. Any way just my suggestions as a fan, so pleased about this news and hope for a faithful successful adaption. Thank you so much for the amazing story you have created.

Please let the actor who plays lestat be really tall ( as he is in the book), Tome cruise made it good but he's really small. And please try not to change too much stuff in the adaptation.

i love your work ms. Rice Lestat is one of the most INTERESTING characters created in fiction since Jesus. I've been arguing with people since "Interview and Queen" how good this series is and i had to watch stuff like the "V Diaries" to fulfill my appetite. Bravo on this TV series
I have been a HUGE fan of Anne Rice and is she in California now? I think she should reboot the whole Vampire Chronicles and I would love to see the Wolf Gift into a movie! Twilight can eat shit! They did in 1994 Interview With A Vampire, 2002 Queen Of The Dammed, They should do The Vampire Lestat and they did The Vampire Lestat The musical I wanted to see that so bad. I hope she does more writing! She has done a chronicles of witches.
I would agree with MichelleL's suggestion and call the series "The Vampire Chronicles." This way if you were to base a season on each character, you could title that season with whom it's about. Of course not revealing who will be the featured character until the season premieres.
Gawd it makes me sad how much amc didn’t stick to her vision. I watched the first few episodes and while I loved the actors I couldn’t handle how much the story changed
They did tho and Christopher did write the screenplay as she said. She expected the show to cover all her books with Game of Thrones budget but obviously that was not possible. They did what they could do. However all of the books will be made into series, as AMC bought the rights. Just not in the order originally planned. This was 7 years ago with no proper plans nor deals. Things change. The series is the most faithful adaptation to the books so far.

But Brad Pitt's Louis in Interview with the Vampire did have dark brown hair and green eyes. I'm curious to know how far into the Vampire Chronicles book series you plan the television series to go. I've just started Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, can't wait to dive into it.
Yes, of course Lestat is and always will be the Brat Prince but there are some I fell in love with as much as I love lestat at times more (Pandora, & Marius). Oh how I loved them. So The Vampire Chronicles works for me because I love so many of these characters and others not so much. However, I’m so glad you want to start the series with Lestat’s story as a young mortal man in France & how he came to be an immortal being. Also here we learn about his mortal family and his mortal mother Gabrielle since she later on in the books is given the dark gift.
Romann Berrux, the young actor who played Fergus in Outlander captures the image of Armand perfectly, but he's too young and I agree that it has to be someone in his twenties with an angelic face.
Hi anne! When will it be released? Can it be similar to the book ? I loved the movie but When I read the book I was disappointed at how everything was changed in not only the movie but also in queen of the damned with so much things that were switched around from the characters appearances to the plots and love things. I beg you please be how it is in the book I most definitely want to see a show based off of a amazing book because I get a chance to see the characters in a realistic form. Still as stated they did set the standard high in the movie despite the changes it was and always will be hands down my number one favorite vampire movie. Im listening and I love how your planning to start it off right in the correct order. Keep us in touch of the release date!

2022 and Sam Reid is an extraordinary Lestat. Jacob Anderson is fantastic as Louis as well. AMC series is quite good even being an adaptation that’s not as faithful to the books
Medici was Very good, The crown was Fantastic!!!!!! Versailles was very good also, you need to watch Starz The white Queen, and Poldark is more for a general audience but it was very very good, I love you Anne rice you've introduced me to vampires and interview with the Vampire was my first and one of my favorite costume dramas.
You might want to take a look at the actors that play in the "Reign" TV show. A lot of them look half like vampires already. And they are already accustomed to playing people from a past age.
