@@malmazing24As A Thunder Fan Ik He Will Be .. He Will Shine With The Ball In His Hands .. But I Feel We Both Won We Needed A Championship Vet .. A Better Shooter & Our Defense Will Be Top 3 .. It’s A Good Move On Both Ends Both Need To Be Paid As Well
Pascal Siakam and every other quick big will abuse Klingon defensively. Sarr is basically Dwight Howard 2.0, just better because he has a legit jumper!
NBA GM's lately "give me a 18 year old that has athleticism but shown no ability to use that over a 22 year old that has proven results". I know that is an exaggeration but not by much.
In a vacuum, where injuries didn't exist, I'd give Clingan the nod because the size, passing, and screen-setting are all critical parts of a good team right now. However, the feet issues he's already experiencing at a young age give me pause. The one thing that will always derail a big-man's career is foot issues. The physics work against you. The defensive versatility Sarr brings works in more situations and you still have the upside potential offensively if you believe he's someone that will focus on improving.
The hawks just played switch everything defense and our perimeter defense was bad. I don't understand why we are now trying to take Clingan with that context
The Atlanta Hawks have been unable to bring in Alex Starr for a workout, and Donovan Clingan is a real candidate to go No. 1, per @DraftExpress “The Hawks have been unable to bring Alex Sarr in for a workout to this point, but the door remains open for that to potentially happen. Clingan appears to be Risacher's main rival at No. 1.”
No need to! Sarr spent the entire summer league season playing IN ATL for Dominique Wilkins ‘ brother, who happens to be the coach! Who’s on the record saying Sarr should be in #1
If Hawks keep Murray and Young I feel like Clingan makes more sense because you would be in win now mode and Clingan has a higher floor. Sarr makes a little more sense if you are retooling and starting new with him.
Clingan can't shoot isn't a playmaker can't defend on the perimeter much doesn't have a post up game...why do people like him so much going to a bad team with no scorers playmakers defenders shooters around him lol....like he fits the grizzlies at 9 but a top 8 pick is a joke...
He actually a good shot blocker and can pass. People fall in love with upside to much, we picked Kwame brown but last I checked Gasol was the best guy In that draft but the same thing was said about him. Same thing was also said about Jokic but people keep making the same mistakes over and over.
I get the feeling that a couple of guys in the draft will have a Bigger impact in the NBA than Sarr. Sarr doesn’t come off as a player that is going to really elevate things in the NBA.
This might be the rare draft without more than 2 all stars and sarr might be the only multiple time one....for a bad team you take the best guy top 5..not the guy who can be ready in 8 years to start for a finals contending team next to 2 stars.....like say cody williams
Seems to me, going with yet another big in the vein of alex len and frank kaminski would lead to similar results. Sarr is the clear choice in my opinion. He stretches (keeping in mind Trae adds points to hit percentage). He can switch which IS required of bigs playing with Trae. Hes a passer. Yes, isnt great in the pnr but so what, he can stretch. So we can run it with JJ and OO. Hes such a hard fit its crazy. Its the best scenario a guy like him can land in as a no. 1 pick.
@@baltimoregetup9537yes they can. Trae is 25 as long as you get the right pieces in the next 2-3 years he will wait. After Sarr you just need some good 2 way wing players and a couple bench guys
You don’t switch with with Trae (why would you be switching Trae onto a big of all things). You want to be able to funnel his guy into rim protection, like the Mavs do with Luka. Mavs should be the blueprint defensively for the Hawks. Their other perimeter defenders are bad, so you’re not looking to switch in general but run people off the line and into your rim protection. Clingan fits that mold much better than Sarr. Plus, he’s a better rim runner and Trae is the best in the game at lobs. Also, Hawks already have pfs in JJ and OO but need a center (who’s not Capela). Clingan the much better fit for the Hawks and I just don’t see enough potential from Sarr to justify taking him over Clingan
It’s not necessarily about being better rather than where can you fit in. Look at Derrick Lively he only averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds in college but he fits perfectly with Dallas
Watching this post nba finals. If I was the mavs front office I’d trade for him, he is what they really lack. A wing that can become the third creator, good passer, can shoot and guard star players. Mavs go get this man
Actually Sarr is the better fit. Clingan will be played off an NBA court far more than you think. He is a solid player but when I project to the NBA I see problems ahead for this guy. I believe Sarr will be able to overcome his early flaws more than Clingan. This dude looks like a plodder and a lumberer on the court. What happens when teams hunt Clingan to put him in action away from the basket that forces him to use his feet. Sarr can guard on the perimeter and I would be comfortable putting him on an island. I' don't think I can do that with Clingan.
@@Dave-nm8uf NO way U came to another channel to push ur dummass delusion Sarr isnt ready right now and simply does not fit Clingan is obviously the better pick and fit just stop it ur hating for nothing and itz getting sad at this point
@@Dave-nm8uf he’s a better fit if they are moving from Young or Murray but they have 70+ mil per year invested in Guards they are in win now mode they can’t wait for Sarr to develop and get bigger
@@baltimoregetup9537 News alert: Don't by this nonsense that Clingan don't have to be developed. That kind of thinking is what get GMs and coaches fired. Win now. What the heck does that mean. Besides, Trae Young will be gone by then.
