I don't believe John was weak and easy to manipulate. He was also doing what he wanted, and he loved Yoko, according to those around him who were there in his final years. He cheated on Yoko first, then she came up with the idea of him having an affair with May Pang, who said John was in love with her. They seemed to have a great time together, but John also cheated on May too a couple of times, according to her. He went back to Yoko because he still loved her, according to May John carried on the affair with her occasionally, and they stayed close friends until the end and Yoko didn't know about it. So John was having his cake and eating it too. He didn't want to lose his marriage and they also had Sean who was still very young. Yoko also loved John and she was devastated by his death and grieved for him, according to the staff who were there with her at the time. If he'd lived wheatear they would have stayed together long term, we will never know.

John is sorely missed, it seems so sad that he had to die by being shot by Mark David Chapman, he even admitted it was a selfish act for himself to get recognition, so why didn't he just shoot John in the leg without killing him and he still would have gotten the recognition he wanted, what a selfish act, when it happens I just couldn't believe it, life is strange I finally got together with the woman I always loved and still love today but she got married, still I miss John a lot, I loved all the Beatles equally, cheers
For those not from Britain Bob Harris is a well respected DJ whose programme he hosted on tv introduced many future great artists. He also has a host of great anecdotes about the famous stars he met and in many cases became friends with.
John and Paul had such a close intense friendship and both genius and that's one in a million chance of two people meeting like that, theres no way a friendship like that can last especially to old fashioned northerners that didn't speak openly to each other, Jagger and Richards were much more open with each other! He should have been nicer to his father and son Julian. It wasn't his father's fault it was his mother's and his aunt Mimi who hated Fred and never gave John his letters he would send to him from sea. Fred also was willing to take Julia back with John and her new daughter she had with a military man who dumped her. But she said no. Then Fred asked John when he was 5 to come live with him in New Zealand but John chose to stay with Julia who in turn gave him to Mimi when she hooked up with John Dykins and had 2 more girls.
