Well, it was because of black people actions that allowed Asians to come into good old USA and fulfilled their American dream and now some of these Asians talking crap. I bet if it was for white people they Asians wouldn't be saying anything. If they don't like the policy, then they should create their own university.
I especially liked how you waited until the end of the video to tell me to like and subscribe because that’s how it’s done right there. this is the first video I’ve seen from this account and I subscribed about 2m in and hit like a few later after realizing you don’t play some unnecessary music in the background. FINALLY. It’s truly a miracle 10/10
Affirmative action is a means for people of marginalized groups to have a higher chance to get better education, so in the future the racial disparity is less extreme. At MIT, 25.5% of the students are white, 20.9% Asians, 10% Hispanic or Latino, 4.84% Black, >1% natives. Historically, black, Latin and native people have more complex cultural backgrounds that made these racial groups significantly more poor than the others.
There’s definitely no cringe in this class. The instructors are actually super chill and interesting people. I had LOADS of fun, and got to surf with lots of foreigners who I would never met outside of our curiosity for surfing. I love the diversity of the surf instructors too, not just one nationality sharing the stoke!
Read the college essay a Harvard grad wrote about McDonald's that landed him offers from Harvard, Yale, and Princeton: not when you have to work there, authentically
Yeah thanks for this video. We will surely apply as international students and be ready to be rejected. International students’ outright rejections are just a byproduct of this terrible college system.
From my expectations with my applied human class a lot ot just seems to be look for a hidden meaning in these paintings and I have no clue what half of it means
how do you apply though? i've been trying to look up the process but i can never find it. is it directly through the common app? or the school's website? what is the step-by-step process in actually applying?
Asian people on Harvards campus are part of Affirmative Action because they count as part of the "diversity quota" on campus. Anybody saying otherwise is lying. Just go back to the 1950s and show me how many Asians were at Harvard. People acting like somehow these Asians got to be on Harvard's campus purely based on merit and not due to the civil rights movement purely disingenuous. Not to mention there was no Asian system of producing highly educated students almost anywhere outside Japan in the 1950s. IIT didn't even exist before then. Also, there is no law mandating quotas or lower standards for college admissions anywhere in the history of civil rights. Universities like Harvard VOLUNTARILY implemented these changes to their college entrance criteria after the civil rights act in things like "The Harvard Plan". But there is nothing that says those are legally binding in any way. But somehow folks keep lying pretending that this is somehow a legal mandate or corner stone of civil rights. Civil RIghts legal action in education in the 1950s was focused on Brown vs Board and about elementary school, middle school and high school which is mandated by law for all children and at that time all that was required for a "middle class" job.
All of these Asians being in Harvard IS affirmative action, because prior to the 1970s all these Asians were not here. Go back and look at photos of Eniac and the workers on it in the 1940s or any pictures of Harvard and MIT in 1950, where are all the Asians at? The idea that these Asians and other groups who are now present in these universities is NOT affirmative action is the joke. Where were all these highly educated Asians in 1950 in Asia or anywhere else? Having these Asians on campus DOES count towards diversity quotas and affirmative action based on that history, whether due to changing immigration policies or economic policies (offshoring/etc).
Im glad its gone now black people can shine without yall saying we got in because of our colours, then you can face that the reason you arent in those schools is because yall werent as good as yiu thought you were and thats just how life is. Because honestly what is the point, you dont get into an IVY league big deal go somewhere else and keep it pusing
I am new on there's and learning more ;;;;;;; how to start my program summer job:;;;;;;;;;,,,, Kim and I have on my be half quarter ro help shariece Brewster one and one:::;;;;;;;;,,,
Unfortunately, since 94 percent of applicants are turned down, why go? Everyone deserves a chance in life and egalitarianism is a virtue. French revolution...
it’s only nice for her because she’s a girl it fkn sucks going to college in California unless you aren’t white and make a lot of money to other people
Dude with glasses is pro-affirmative action. He isn’t speaking correctly. “Affirmation should go away” he met to say “shouldn’t go away” so that’s actually proving a point?
"gat keeping of resources" 💀💀🤡 im dead meanwhile schools literally having "women only scholarships" with clear instructions to be only for women 🤡🤡 and this one out here crying abt resources
Employers have referred to me as their "slave" when I was younger which I believe should negate any interest I have in the issue of Blacks and Affirmative Action. Even if they are discriminated against and discrimination is happening even as we speak, being told I'm a slave makes me realize I have to take care of myself and causes me to understand that nobody really cares about me.
Question. Does the drop in chances from applying outside of New York/the northeast still exist if you apply early decision? I’m from Virginia and trying to boost my chances any way I can.
