I stopped playing, haven't uninstalled yet though. The constant matchup against veterans with way better tanks than me stops me from joining again. Its not fun anymore. Might as well uninstall.
I would say decision making even for highest skill levels, is very limited on a lot of maps, most maps you are channeled to the same rotations and decisions because there are so many positions that favor camping TDs, not to mention almost every heavy corner in the game can get pummeled by artillery. With 2-3 on the other team you can trade perfectly and still end up dead or -50-70% of your HP from artillery alone. Stun is also extremely debilitating and shouldn’t exist, guarantees med kit use or being effectively a 50% worse tank for 16 seconds when artys can reload in 20
The Forums were just a place for bullies to denigrate those who they thought were less than themselves. Nobody got actual answers, just snarky comments from a select few. This is why people began avoiding the forums years ago. Reddit is better. The fact that while the player base has shrunk significantly yet revenue is higher shows me that what happened is the freeloaders have all but left so the remaining players are the ones who had been funding the game all along. Match-making needs to include player skill., It's the only game I know of that does not include player skill. Maps need to be reintroduced. Since player skill is not part of MM, saying a map is unbalanced is just plain silly.
I've been playing WoT since 2013, the base game and core gameplay are solid, but the release of new and more powerful high tier tanks made the gameplay boring and frustrating. I've noticed that Tanks just dont have Weakspots that you can learn anymore, you either load the gold and pray that it pens or you uninstall and play better games. Sad to see the game go down this path, i truly enjoyed it back then. all my friends got bored with it and stopped playing long time ago, i was the only one still playing it. Nostalgia is the only reason i sometimes return to the game, but that is very rare and i quickly get frustrated in the gameplay.
Why steal? I just bought a blitz deal . I received all of the items except 7 days premium. I complained. They said they gave it to me in player. Support. Fuck you WG... YOU SUCK!
Maps are just too small. Tanks are getting faster and the distance they can detect you increases, so there is no space for manoeuvring. I always enjoy playing the original maps.
i ragequit a month ago after 5000 battles. game is getting worse every day. rng is shit, matchmaking is shit, balance is shit, artillery makes my eyes bleed, ''ARMOR NOT HIT" hellcat, ricochet ebr, and did i say artillery? dont even get me started on artillery. some tanks are so weak, they can drop a tier, maybe even two tiers and still be shit. on higher tiers if you dont spam premium rounds, you basically cannot ever penetrate any type of heavy tank. its insane. games are supposed to be fun! world of tanks is supposed to be fun! but how much fun can you get with less than 40% win rate? and dont tell me "YoUrE jUsT a BaD pLaYeR, lEaRn To pLaY" because my wtr is(was) 6500. not god tier but definitely good enough that i KNOW its not a ME problem. so many heavies trying to snipe, so many players just griefing or throwing the game, i cannot fathom the ammount of times i was pushed off a cliff on Province. so many campers and at the same time so many rushers, so many "i didnt think this through" moments. it just pains me because once upon a time, it was a fun game. now its just a shadow of its former self.
Remember when this tank was meta and superunicums would use it to statpad? Yeah...there was an era where this turd actually shone brightly. What this tank needs is much better DPM, like the SPH-TVP or the Kpz07. If not then increase the alpha. Give this thing the 100mm gun the Lorr 40T and it will be decent.
As you said, the tank/map balance is a huge issue, MM as well. Map rotation is just a myth today, we have so many maps, but during 10 battles session you ''rotate'' 4 maps and most of them look the same - 5 squares of important positions where brawling happens, few annoying and sometimes OP sniper positions and remaining 80% of map is water, huge mountains or ''tourist on open field region''. Add MM full of autoloaders, fast heavies, 3 lights, many TDs and BOOM, you have a 15:2 in 4min simulator.
That explains the crew training system change. You are seriously punished for not spending premium currency. All that aside, WG should go back to realism, and attempting to recreate tank battle atmosphere, with true to size replica maps of tank battles.
the company is full trash, loved this game so much over 10 years played more than 400 tanks aquired over 1500EUR spend which some garbage idiot steal it because i only had proof of aprox. 1000 EUR payments they deletet it.... good advice for everyone dont put any effort in this game even if you love it the company will betray you once
lowkey been playing this game for like 8 years now since my childhood, it just doesn't hit the same anymore.. i can't put my finger on it but the game's just lost it's touch
It's because they left the Russian Market. Once they dumped the almost feral Russian community in 2022 it opened up a whole new world of monetization for them.
Clan Wars are dead because only a few can get the prize. Clans are making multiple clans with Alts. There are the same people playing in multiple clans and grabbing all the prizes. If you want to have a chance to a prize, then you have to be in a unicum kinda of a clan. So there is no incentive for the rest of the players to participate.
I stopped buying from WG once I realized they will never change this atrocious MM. That, plus the broken tanks like BZ-176, convinced me this is their exit strategy. Yes, they are ending the game and milk everything they can now. Funny to see now that many people realized this. I guess their sales are not going to do well from now on.
The game was so fun in 2016. I loved the game back then. I am NA so I do not know if what I say will help at all. The balance of the game is bad. Certain tanks are just so much stronger then other and the maps make it worse for the tanks that are not strong. I actually stopped playing for a year and got back on recently to see if anything has improved and nothing has changed mechanically. It is very sad.
I play wot since 2013, and I would say that made less than 15 news maps. Pick any game, they would have had at least twice or triple the amount of New content. It's why i only play few days a years...

used to play a lot waaay back. everyday just t8 tank companys with friends, is3's maybe couple amx 50 100 brawling it out was fun. shame to see the game in current state, was great before all the modern monetization. back when type59 was considered op and it was 30€ tank, no clue how it fares nowdays lmao
One more thing I would like to add.The more and more unhistorical tank lines that are added with every new tank line. I'm not a history buff and dont have anything against paper tanks and prototypes so much time they existed somwhere on paper in design stage or a phisycal prototype. The idea of a prototype tank to compete against proven tanks is nice.But I dont want Wargaming to compete in design with real companies.
Let's be clear on one thing - end of WoT would mean end of WG as a company. Because, seriously, has anyone ever heard of people playing any of their other titles? The sole exception being Warships, but it's still smaller in scope than the already shrinking WoT. Wargaming hit a jackpot with WoT those fifteen years ago, but with it gone, WG would have no other exit, but to follow it. Now the question is, whether are they aware of it?

meanwhile on NA: "uh... yea? when is the next sale coming tho? auction?" edit: funny shit i was considering wasting my money on the anime stuff. but idk. imma not buy shit just for the game to die on 2 years time. i only ever bought the skorpion G cuz that dumb thing works no matter what. also NA seems pretty uncaring tho. wargaming could've taken a different route but they decided to drown their own game with non stop paid content that is unbalanced, slowly but sure flooding the game with nothing but premium vehicles in the match maker, there are dozens, hundreds of premium tanks that could be arranged into tech trees and given normalized stats. but no, short sighted, dumb and greedy, that's wargaming for you. and i wont even talk about map rotation. and player incentive to grind or even join the damn game. the community activities like clans and advances in tier 6,8,10 were tossed in the gutter, new player incentive with tank rewards is years gone. grind is insuferable, a new player gets thrown at tier 6 speed-ran on a lackluster unintuitive and very limited tutorial, then they get to the real game match maker and are thrown head first into tier 8 feeding grounds in their stock tier 6. wargaming is to blame. not the players, if they hadnt chocked and drown tier 8 so much with premium garbage. they should've spread the vehicles out, hell, there are certain tier 8 premiums that could easily be tier 9 or 10, not saying its ideal to sell tier 9 or 10, imo premium tanks should've been capped to tier 5 or 6, so the power creep is kept at bay, and the playing field is leveled. there hardly is a tier 5 or 6 tank that can or could be insane. but we'd be talking about smart and inteligent wargaming, not what we have. also ngl to you, there were a good chunk of idiots that joined the game just to talk absolute horse shit on general garage chat. its incredible. its old and repetitive to say it, but migrating to war thunder as my primary Armored Vehicle combat game was indeed... a better choice. at least i can play the game, and have a degree of enjoyment in my marksmanship and skill. unlike world of 2 key, and hull down.
and losts of FORCING to get into new not interesting events, with FORCING to pay if you want to get something... WOL loses its attractivity because I know there is no FUN just losing 2-13 or -0-14 per week... totaly unfair
New and bigger maps is what the players need to keep the interest going - WG does the opposite by banning few maps and introducing lame new tanks every month with the loot boxes lol. This game deserves to die. I regret moving to WOT from WT big time.
WOT is dying mostly by it match making and rng.. Im 10 yrs in wot but last year it is one BIG TRAGIC..... just losing in summary... from 51,2 to 49,70% wr IT MEANS in my profile more than 1300 battles losing in saldo counting.. but what is the worst is that losing is in long strikes... i. e. 14 in one row.. so FRUSTSTRATION is growwing whatever you do.. kill 6 or none.. be first or last in the battle doesnt matter.. MM rulez WHO win and mostly if youre not paying enough YOU ARE LOSING LOSING as me.. so for me IT is just WORLD OF LOSING .. simply UNFAIR RNG MM
+2 mm needs to go away, they actualy need to fix the maps and dated vehicles. why should i spend money on the game knowing that my expensive premium is going to be a virtual paperweight shortly after. bought the FCM 50t many years ago when it was still considered a pretty decent tank but taking into battle now just means im going to be complete waste on the battlefield. the extreme amount of RNG causes allot of frustration, game just feels stale because i know beforehand that the maps force me to play a certain way and deviating from that is certain death so its just an endless cycle of getting stuck in constant 500 IQ trolley problems. WG is way too slow and inflexible with how they handle balancing, and dont seem very interested in actualy making the game fun. they are being dishonest when being pressed about vehicles that need buffs with the standard "need more data" when even a toddler can see what the problem is. and its baffling too because it has been YEARS that eveyone has been saying the same thing over and over and over again yet it all falls on deaf ears so at some point people just give up and quit the game.
