at first Hans Zimmer looked like a teacher and a father a one. After 1:00 Hans Zimmer melt down. That is the point you notice youre a legend.Well done Sir Guthrie
I've always maintained that one of the greatest compliments you can give a musician is smiling and laughing at their performance. We are only here to bring joy, and when someone of Hans Zimmer's quality can be broken down to a basic human reaction, you know you're doing something right.
OK, wow. I just heard about Guthrie and this is my first time hearing him. I though he was going to play some tired, cliched blues type thing. Colour me impressed! I don't think I've ever had a guitar solo hit me like this. Is this guy a wizard or some sort of trans-dimensional guitar demon?
0:39 Flute Guy literally gave directions to one of the greatest live performances in modern era. This rendition really feels like how Superman truly feels. Conflicted. He has ALL the power EVER, but he want to just be a normal human and he does do that, but He is always reminded he is other and can end Everything.
I don't think any other guitarist can touch Guthrie when it comes to technically advanced playing that is still deeply soulful and expressive. When he shreds it always sounds like he has something to say, not like he's just showing off chops.
Without question, the most incredible player, possibly in history! His phrasing, the variations are incredible! It's a shame more people don't know about him.
