Yo Prey I tried out the class myself and that gun also got me reported XD, it goes to show you that the games just adds way to many broken weapons and that people just can't handle that much power.
The gun is only about 5lbs. Most people can carry that pretty easily. If we're talking real life, It might add about 10 seconds to a mile run time. There's also kinetic energy to be gained through holding some weight in your hands. Using light weights may actually increase short term run speed, while decreasing overall endurance. Basically, you're moving your arms back and forth faster while moving your legs at the same pace. This is dumbed down with many missing details, but look into it if you want.
I learned there are two ways to dodge getting hit by an IMS after you've been targeted. Either find cover or shoot the projectile as it's floating up. Either way, you about 3 seconds after you hear it.
